May Training
Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: November 21st
Where: Outside the Meeting Hall, the Far Shore & Capypa Land
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to the rear of the Meeting Hall, where a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.
Once they've had a chance to have things explained, they'll have the chance (veterans and new arrivals alike) to go spend the rest of the day in a very magical place...!

God Training
- Newly arrived gods are escorted into a much nicer room than the warehouse where the last set of new gods got their informational speech. It's a smaller meeting room, with tatami floors and a small dais at the front of the room where the speaker stands. A minor deity is giving the speech, and none of the white-robed shinki enter.
The speaker is a few minutes late, and looks rushed and a bit stressed, but delivers her speech with the intonation of someone who's practiced it many times. They are encouraged to discuss the information with each other and ask questions of more experienced gods, as well as instructed to guide their new shinki appropriately.
Shinki Training
- Various shinki in the white-and-gold of Amaterasu's hosuehold are stationed around the dojo, passing out old "From Ama" magazines with articles describing the Heavens, profiling important gods, and interviewing successful shinki. They will be happy to answer any questions or instruct the newcomers in the use of the borderline. They also accompany their answers, or lessons, with an explanation of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. Shinki are encouraged to work together to practice what they've learned and discuss their perspectives.
The dojo doesn't seem quite prepared for everyone's arrival; the usual weapons are nowhere to be seen, the animated targets are missing, and there aren't even any standard paper or straw targets for newcomers to train with. The space is still available, though, in case any gods want to transform and practice working with their new shinki.
Rides and Refreshments
- Capypa Land is a theme park filled with roller coasters, themed rides, movies, costumed mascot characters dressed as Capypa and plenty of opportunities for photographs, souvenirs and sightseeing! Restaurants and snack stands throughout the park mean lots of places to relax and grab lunch, and there's even a winter illumination -- thousands of lights twinkle to life on trees and buildings around the park after night falls.
(Think Disneyland, themed on cartoon capybara instead of cartoon mice.)
Rather than put together a reception at the Meeting Hall, today, the white-robed heavenly shinki are offering new arrivals tickets to Capypa Land and guiding them to the park entrance. Newcomers can relax, enjoy themselves and get to know their new gods or shinki in a family-friendly environment. Any more experienced gods or shinki who volunteer to help with the training can claim one of the Capypa Land tickets for themselves, too. Buy yourself a Capypa ear headband, mingle with the Friday crowds, have your picture taken with a mascot, and don't forget to stay for the dinnertime parade and fireworks!
The Happiest Place on Earth?
- Capypa Land is a theme park in the Near Shore, so it's not quite as safe from ayakashi as the Heavens. Can anyone be sad in such a happy place? Well... stressed families, long lines, angry customers and bad dates produce enough negative emotion to attract occasional ayakashi. Make sure to keep an eye out for malicious spirits, from tiny little insects buzzing around and raising family tension to bigger boogeymen created by childhood fears.
On the other hand, maybe this is an opportunity! Why not lend a hand and practice your teamwork by rending a few of those ayakashi? With so many gods and shinki at the park for the day, all those troublesome spirits can be exorcised to make sure the park visitors have a truly magical time.

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Visit Capypa Land
- Have fun~
Park Outing
no subject
[Though he's not calling the other man on his theft. There's an amused glint in his eyes: theme park food is its own punishment, after all.]
no subject
Does your butler cook well?
[ He glances over at the L*golas looking guy. ]
no subject
[It's not a duty to be left to soulless shinki, although he has no reason to think Asshole wouldn't be perfectly competent at the task. It's just more fun to do it himself.
Also, he's still not completely sure the soulless shinki wouldn't poison them.]
And he's my shinki, not my butler. Ah, I'd introduce you, but I'm afraid I haven't learned your name yet; I'm Cho Hakkai, and this is Asshole.
no subject
Is that so? Well, it's nice to meet you and your Asshole.
I'm Kamui. Shinki to Inari, though he should have been named asshole too, in my opinion.
no subject
I'm afraid mine inherited the name from a former god, and seems to like it. [Although, of course, it is still up to Hakkai what to call him... but, even without much of a personality behind it, Hakkai's quite comfortable using that name on a shinki with Banri's face.]
I've met Inari a time or two, although I admit it's been a while. Is he doing well?
no subject
[ He'll keep that in mind, Hakkai. Though he might be slightly curious about who their former god was and why he'd like it... ]
Whatever well is for him, I guess. [ Kamui shrugs. He wasn't around the guy often, partly because he liked to go off on his own. ]
no subject
[Or is this just one of the shinki who becomes annoyed when his god does too much of his own thing?
Not that Hakkai would be familiar with that, of course. (He's still learning how to work with other people. It's harder than it sounds.)]
no subject
[ Kamui didn't particularly care what Gintoki did since he himself liked to do his own thing. He didn't enjoy being forced into his vessel form whenever he annoyed his god too much, but there were a few times he made some sense. ]
He leaves me be for the most part, so I can't complain.
no subject
[One who leaves alone and one who likes to be left alone? Good enough.]
Ha ha, in any case, would you recommend the turkey or the sandwich? Or neither?
[Since, if Hakkai's going to be paying those prices, he may as well get the best thing on offer.]
no subject
Turkey. Pretty sure the sandwiches are a few days old.
[ Kamui just reaches over for one cooking on the grill and hands it to Hakkai. Not like anyone noticed. ]
The desserts look better though. Gonna try those next.
no subject
Presumably they'll notice, and if they do, at least the count of food versus money in the register will be accurate.
(Or, he supposes, accurate-ish. He isn't going to pay for the one Kamui is keeping.)]
The desserts don't look bad, do they? Although I was hoping to see some sweet buns.
no subject
[ The turkey that was whole just a minute ago was nothing but a bone now as Kamui tosses it into the trash bin. ]
Have you been here a while? You look like you have.
no subject
[He chuckles, and takes a bite of his own turkey leg, chewing and swallowing before he continues.]
Hmm, that's not too bad. I've been here a few months short of a year.
no subject
[ Is that a new turkey leg in his hand? Yes. ]
no subject
At least not successfully. [Disappeared, yes, once. Died once, too. He hasn't, however, actually succeeded in staying away, nor has he discovered any way of controlling it.
Although, he supposes, if he died enough times it would probably stick in the end.]
no subject
[ At least that's what it sounded like. ]
Are you not happy as a god? I figured you guys had it good.
no subject
[He shrugs, smiling easily.]
Although I can't complain about not having to pay rent.
no subject
[ Was he being serious? Who knows. If he had any of his memories though, rent probably wouldn't have been a part of it. Pirates are usually the ones getting paid. ]
Would you say your life back there was better than here?
no subject
Rent is money that you pay to the owner of a property to be allowed to use that property.
As for better, that's a difficult question! There are things I miss, I suppose. And there are certain things about the Heavens I'd be just as happy to leave behind.
no subject
[ That didn't sound like fun. ]
I thought you'd have it better as a god. You don't have to worry about becoming ayakashi. What's holding you back?
no subject
[He sounds cheerfully educational. From a certain point of view, after all, the law is a threat used to keep people in line.]
And, hmm. Being a shinki was worse, but being a living person in my own home world was better.
no subject
[ But it's the next thing Hakkai says that really catches his attention. ]
Are you saying you were a shinki before?
no subject
-- Unfortunately, I don't remember how, or anything about the disappearance itself.
no subject
[ Because that's what Kamui was interested in. Well, a part of him also seemed to be fine with not knowing, but who wouldn't be curious? ]
So? How'd you become one?
