May Training

Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: November 21st
Where: Outside the Meeting Hall, the Far Shore & Capypa Land
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to the rear of the Meeting Hall, where a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

Once they've had a chance to have things explained, they'll have the chance (veterans and new arrivals alike) to go spend the rest of the day in a very magical place...!

Meeting Hall

God Training

Newly arrived gods are escorted into a much nicer room than the warehouse where the last set of new gods got their informational speech. It's a smaller meeting room, with tatami floors and a small dais at the front of the room where the speaker stands. A minor deity is giving the speech, and none of the white-robed shinki enter.

The speaker is a few minutes late, and looks rushed and a bit stressed, but delivers her speech with the intonation of someone who's practiced it many times. They are encouraged to discuss the information with each other and ask questions of more experienced gods, as well as instructed to guide their new shinki appropriately.

Shinki Training

Various shinki in the white-and-gold of Amaterasu's hosuehold are stationed around the dojo, passing out old "From Ama" magazines with articles describing the Heavens, profiling important gods, and interviewing successful shinki. They will be happy to answer any questions or instruct the newcomers in the use of the borderline. They also accompany their answers, or lessons, with an explanation of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. Shinki are encouraged to work together to practice what they've learned and discuss their perspectives.

The dojo doesn't seem quite prepared for everyone's arrival; the usual weapons are nowhere to be seen, the animated targets are missing, and there aren't even any standard paper or straw targets for newcomers to train with. The space is still available, though, in case any gods want to transform and practice working with their new shinki.

Capypa Land

Rides and Refreshments

Capypa Land is a theme park filled with roller coasters, themed rides, movies, costumed mascot characters dressed as Capypa and plenty of opportunities for photographs, souvenirs and sightseeing! Restaurants and snack stands throughout the park mean lots of places to relax and grab lunch, and there's even a winter illumination -- thousands of lights twinkle to life on trees and buildings around the park after night falls.

(Think Disneyland, themed on cartoon capybara instead of cartoon mice.)

Rather than put together a reception at the Meeting Hall, today, the white-robed heavenly shinki are offering new arrivals tickets to Capypa Land and guiding them to the park entrance. Newcomers can relax, enjoy themselves and get to know their new gods or shinki in a family-friendly environment. Any more experienced gods or shinki who volunteer to help with the training can claim one of the Capypa Land tickets for themselves, too. Buy yourself a Capypa ear headband, mingle with the Friday crowds, have your picture taken with a mascot, and don't forget to stay for the dinnertime parade and fireworks!

The Happiest Place on Earth?

Capypa Land is a theme park in the Near Shore, so it's not quite as safe from ayakashi as the Heavens. Can anyone be sad in such a happy place? Well... stressed families, long lines, angry customers and bad dates produce enough negative emotion to attract occasional ayakashi. Make sure to keep an eye out for malicious spirits, from tiny little insects buzzing around and raising family tension to bigger boogeymen created by childhood fears.

On the other hand, maybe this is an opportunity! Why not lend a hand and practice your teamwork by rending a few of those ayakashi? With so many gods and shinki at the park for the day, all those troublesome spirits can be exorcised to make sure the park visitors have a truly magical time.

In Summary:
  • Get all the information you can handle
  • Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
  • Get in some training
  • Visit Capypa Land
  • Have fun~

[ Even he can't place what he's transformed into but that shouldn't matter. A shinki's power didn't come from what they transformed into but how they used their powers. ]

Try manipulating the wind.

[ An order. He's confidant they can work out what his powers are with time and patience. ]

[So. Try to manipulate the wind. Simple enough, right?

...Except he's not entirely sure how. Maybe these giant sleeves are supposed to be fans or something?

...Nah. Trying to flap his arms gets nothing, even when he tries to jump in the air. Trying to blow air from his mouth doesn't work either. What is manipulating the wind how do you do this]

Pbbfffff...haah! [INDIGNANT SQUEAKING NOISES.]
veteran_king: (Are you surprised by anything anymore?)

...........

[ Good thing emotions don't work both ways, he can sense his but Shingo can't read his own disappointment as he swings his arms carelessly. Truly the Heaven's were testing him. ]

Flapping your hands and squawking like some flightless bird isn't manipulating. It's imitating, nanodayo.
abysmalactor: (pouty indignance)

Well, whatever I am, it's definitely not a bird!

[Whiiiiine.]

Seriously, how do you manipulate wind? I've never tried this before! [At least, from what he can remember!]
veteran_king: (Leave behind a souvenir of pain.)

[ He pushes up his glasses. ]

It seems I will have to train you.

[ Just like Takao. ]
abysmalactor: (do you see this idiot shitchild)

[You know what. Sawatari can work with this.]

Alright, then! [He puffs up in his usual manner, although considering he's still a tiny squeaking...creature...it looks. Cute.]

I'll get this figured out in no time, watch!
veteran_king: (Isolate him from the world.)

Fortunately, Horus temple comes fully equipped.

[ He tells him as he heads further into the Egyptian temple down stone corridors made up of intricate columns. He comes to a set of golden doors engranved with the signature eye of Horus. There's a rush of wind, presumable coming from him, and the doors open revealing a chamber filled with every wind driven mechanism without a motor.

The god of the sky walks inside and from the jungle of aeriel devices he plucks out the most mundane looking one. A kite. ]

Once you can manipulate this [ he hands it to him ] we can start.

[ In other words, he's not helping you until you learn the basics. So with that he heads out of the temple, leaving him to it. Good-luck. ]

Really? Great! As expected of the god I serve~! Always prepared!

[He says that as he's following Midorima, although that's really hard with these tiny stubby limbs please wait up.

He takes the kite with both hands, looking it over.]

Heh, alright! This should be sim- [Wait. Give him a second. Manipulate this? With the wind powers he currently hasn't figured out yet? No hints? Nothing? Hold up.]

Hey, wait a second-! [No dice. Midorima's gone already, leaving Sawatari alone in the room.]

...ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
