May Training

Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: November 21st
Where: Outside the Meeting Hall, the Far Shore & Capypa Land
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to the rear of the Meeting Hall, where a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

Once they've had a chance to have things explained, they'll have the chance (veterans and new arrivals alike) to go spend the rest of the day in a very magical place...!

Meeting Hall

God Training

Newly arrived gods are escorted into a much nicer room than the warehouse where the last set of new gods got their informational speech. It's a smaller meeting room, with tatami floors and a small dais at the front of the room where the speaker stands. A minor deity is giving the speech, and none of the white-robed shinki enter.

The speaker is a few minutes late, and looks rushed and a bit stressed, but delivers her speech with the intonation of someone who's practiced it many times. They are encouraged to discuss the information with each other and ask questions of more experienced gods, as well as instructed to guide their new shinki appropriately.

Shinki Training

Various shinki in the white-and-gold of Amaterasu's hosuehold are stationed around the dojo, passing out old "From Ama" magazines with articles describing the Heavens, profiling important gods, and interviewing successful shinki. They will be happy to answer any questions or instruct the newcomers in the use of the borderline. They also accompany their answers, or lessons, with an explanation of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. Shinki are encouraged to work together to practice what they've learned and discuss their perspectives.

The dojo doesn't seem quite prepared for everyone's arrival; the usual weapons are nowhere to be seen, the animated targets are missing, and there aren't even any standard paper or straw targets for newcomers to train with. The space is still available, though, in case any gods want to transform and practice working with their new shinki.

Capypa Land

Rides and Refreshments

Capypa Land is a theme park filled with roller coasters, themed rides, movies, costumed mascot characters dressed as Capypa and plenty of opportunities for photographs, souvenirs and sightseeing! Restaurants and snack stands throughout the park mean lots of places to relax and grab lunch, and there's even a winter illumination -- thousands of lights twinkle to life on trees and buildings around the park after night falls.

(Think Disneyland, themed on cartoon capybara instead of cartoon mice.)

Rather than put together a reception at the Meeting Hall, today, the white-robed heavenly shinki are offering new arrivals tickets to Capypa Land and guiding them to the park entrance. Newcomers can relax, enjoy themselves and get to know their new gods or shinki in a family-friendly environment. Any more experienced gods or shinki who volunteer to help with the training can claim one of the Capypa Land tickets for themselves, too. Buy yourself a Capypa ear headband, mingle with the Friday crowds, have your picture taken with a mascot, and don't forget to stay for the dinnertime parade and fireworks!

The Happiest Place on Earth?

Capypa Land is a theme park in the Near Shore, so it's not quite as safe from ayakashi as the Heavens. Can anyone be sad in such a happy place? Well... stressed families, long lines, angry customers and bad dates produce enough negative emotion to attract occasional ayakashi. Make sure to keep an eye out for malicious spirits, from tiny little insects buzzing around and raising family tension to bigger boogeymen created by childhood fears.

On the other hand, maybe this is an opportunity! Why not lend a hand and practice your teamwork by rending a few of those ayakashi? With so many gods and shinki at the park for the day, all those troublesome spirits can be exorcised to make sure the park visitors have a truly magical time.

In Summary:
  • Get all the information you can handle
  • Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
  • Get in some training
  • Visit Capypa Land
  • Have fun~

[Soleil can't help it, she's always been pretty liberal with the compliments when it comes to particularly cute, stunning, or impressive people...! Still, her comments are genuine.]

It goes up so high...! Ahh, I can hardly wait!

[Unfortunately, lines. Hopefully they can get through this one quickly enough.]
letteropener: (that is how it is)

I think the height is not quite so impressive as it being out of our control. I could dive from there, but it wouldn't be nearly so exciting when I know I could stop my descent at any time.

[That's Celestia for you, examining the philosophy of roller coasters even as she looks forward to putting her theories into practice. Luckily for them, the line shouldn't be much longer...]
mersunary: (Always look on the bright side)

Ohh, I guess that does make sense...! Like, how a wyvern rider wouldn't normally be worried about heights because they're in control of their mount the whole time, something like this would be way less expected.

[No, that's a totally fair assessment, she understands!

Getting closer to the front now...!]
letteropener: (grin)

I think less a wyvern rider and more a wyvern, but you see my point. We are going to the front, right?

[By hook or crook, Celestia assumes; she is not above getting them there with magic or simple exploitation of Far Shore overlookedness.]
mersunary: (Things turn out for the best)

Are those the best seats?

[It makes sense to her - an unobstructed view is sure to be the most thrilling...!]

If that would be the best way to first experience something like this, then absolutely!
letteropener: (adorable smile)

[personal profile] letteropener 2018-08-13 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Perfect! [Celestia steers their steps that way, wending their way through to the front with little difficulty. Just in time for the next train to clatter on up!]
mersunary: (And sing)

[No qualms here about squeezing their way up front - sometimes not being noticed easily by Near Shore residents has its perks...! Like nice seats for a thrilling new adventure. Once the last batch of passengers have safely made their way out, the next group in line are ushered on.]

Oh, these are fairly complicated looking seats, aren't they...?

[The safety bar is a bit unexpected, but not really off-putting.]
letteropener: (friendly explanation)

I've been watching, and they hold you in so you don't go flying. I think that would bother most humans. [She pulls her bar down, wedging it into her lap firmly the way she's seen others do.]
