Who: Yuto (
darkdueslist), Hajime (
birdstheword) and Yuya (
phantomforgod). Also maybe Yuuki (
sleepingknight) and Rise (
tofus)?
What: After Yuya returns, Yuto decides to talk to Hajime.
When: April 6.
Where: Hajime's shrine.
Warnings: n/a
Yuto was glad beyond words when he had found Yuya. It was such a relief to see him again, to know that he was safe and sound. It didn't matter that Yuya had no memory of this place or that Yuto didn't understand half the things his twin was saying. Yuto was just happy the other was back. But after the events in the school Yuto begun to wonder what next. He couldn't leave Yuya all alone. The fear that he may loose him yet again had been plaguing his mind ever since. Especially seeing as Yuya had no shinki at all.
That was why he decided to speak with Hajime about this matter. He was hoping she would help him find the solution... Though he could already think of one. He would have to become Yuya's shinki. But just as much as he wanted to watch over Yuya he didn't want to leave Hajime either.
They both meant too much to him.
"Hajime." He called as he knocked on the door to Hajime's room. "I need to talk to you."

"Hajime." He called as he knocked on the door to Hajime's room. "I need to talk to you."

[Hajime's voice calls from inside the room. When he does open the door, he can find her sitting at the top of a ladder. A pair of goggles are over her eyes for safety. Judging from the power tool in her hand, she was working on hanging up another shelve or something. From the day she first found her temple she's been working on making changes here and there. She's also been trying to get her room looking similar to her one back home.]
What's up, Yuto?
[She pulls the trigger of the tool, making it rev up briefly to be playful. Giggling a little, she shifts and descends down the ladder. Once she's on the ground again, she puts the tool on the desk and turns her attention to Yuto curiously]
no subject
...Do you need help with all of this?
[Well, he feels he should be helping her! There's no need for her to do all the work by herself.
But then Yuto shakes his head. This isn't what he wanted to talk about after all!]
But I actually wanted to talk about Yuya. I worry about him. [Yuto sighs, frowning in concern.] He came back as a god... and he doesn't have a shinki.
no subject
D.Y.I~ you know? I'm just doing a little bit at a time. It's fun.
[She steps over closer to him, tilting her head to the side. She perks up when he talks about Yuya.]
I'm not surprise. Yuya is your brother right? Of course you'd be worried about him. I'm really happy he's back!
[She means it, her smile reflects that though she blinks at the second part of that. She looks up thoughtfully]
Now that you mention it, I don't remember seeing anyone with him. That's really strange for a god to have no shinki...
[Even a shinki like Picowatt was usually placed with a god for the time being right?]
no subject
About that... Actually it turns out we're not brothers. Not exactly. Yuya said I was a spirit, but he has holes in his memories and doesn't know any more than this. [Yuto's gaze is fixed on the floor when he says that. His brows are knitted together.
This whole spirit thing actually made him sad, but he tries not to think about it. It's all in the past anyway.]
...In any case, I also think it's strange that he doesn't have a shinki. That's why I'm even more worried about him. What if something happens to him? What if he gets attacked? [He looks at Hajime.] A god without a shinki can't fight ayakashi, right?
no subject
I don't know Yuya but he isn't the type to stick around other gods is he? We could do our best to help him out and protect him butttttt he probably has his own agenda, right?
[She sighs a little, crossing her arms thoughtfully. This talk is heading in a direction she doesn't like the feeling of but-]
What do you want to do, Yuto?
no subject
...I want to be by his side.
[And then he adds, almost as if in pained tone:]
But I don't want to leave you either.
[His inner struggle shows on his face when he looks at her again.] You've don't so much for me, I can't leave you.
no subject
[She just watches him for several seconds. It's rare to see Hajime without a smile and actually reflecting on the seriousness of the matter. He seems so beside himself. One side he needs to by Yuya's side. The trip to hell was for Vector and Yuya right? But on the other side of it, he doesn't want leave her. Hmmm]
Yuto...it's not like you're leaving me. You're not going good bye or to a far away land. You want to be with Yuya. I get that. He needs your help!
no subject
But her words surprise him. She's right, though. He's not leaving anywhere far, but being at Yuya's side means he won't be with Hajime anymore.]
...But I won't be able to help you anymore.
[He pauses.]
I know you'll be fine, after all Yuuki and Rise are by your side, but...
[He looks down again.
He feels like he's really selfish right now.]
no subject
[Thanks to her God power she would be able to track him down. The state of his and Yuya's threads would let her know if something was happen too! It is a bit sad for him to go but it isn't really a good bye right? For some reason it does make her feel down. She really doesn't understand why. She can feel her heart thumping loudly in her chest. Yuto isn't leaving. He's still going to be around. She can still see and visit him. So what's the problem? There shouldn't be one!]
Yuto....
[She smiles at him. It's not like her usual ones. This one is softer but it's clear she still is really happy for him. She steps forward, throwing herself onto him without warning. She pulls him into her embrace in the process giving him a strong hug.]
no subject
[She giggles, sing-song voice and all as she squeezes him]
I do feel sad....I don't really know why. But don't worry! I'm happy Yuya's back and you should be with him! He needs you! But I'll always be here for you though....so you better visit lots, okay?
no subject
Hajime.
[He sees her smile, a strange one, different from what he's used to. But before he manages to wonder about its meaning, she already has her arms around him, pulling him into a hug. It catches him off-guard. As always anyway. He doesn't know what to do, listening to her voice, when she says his name, when she tells him she's sad but he shouldn't worry.
And then a moment later he hugs her back, pulling her close to himself and nodding.]
...Me, too. [He's sad too. And yet he can't bring himself to say it properly.
And then a moment later he adds:]
I will visit. And if you ever need something, just tell me.
[And then a little softer:]
...Thank you, Hajime. Thank you. For everything.
no subject
Thank you Yuto! It's been a lot of fun, you know? Just try not to be so hard on yourself, okay?
[Though she thinks, based on what she's seen of Yuya, that he'll be able to help with that. Slowly she takes another step back, letting go of him.]
no subject
...I'll try. [He says with a small sigh and a soft sad smile appearing on his face.]
no subject
Good! We'll visit you too.
[She winks at him before pausing. A thoughtful look crosses over her features as she taps her chin. There is one important detail she forgot about. Maybe he knows since Vector released him before right?]
Yuto... do you know how let you go? I've never done it before...if you donno I can try asking Tsuzu-kun?
no subject
You just need to say that you release my name. That's how Vector did it.
[He then goes into some more details about how it was done and once he finishes he looks at Hajime, waiting. At the same time he absentmindedly touches the symbol visible on his upper arm.]
no subject
..Roger!
[She gives a two finger salute.]
I think I got it, Yuto! ...Ready?
no subject
I'm ready.
no subject
[Despite her words, she stands there looking at Yuto for a few moments longer before slowly lowering her hand. Her smile softens. She doesn't want to release Yuto. He's become part of the family but it's what has to be done right? Yuto deserves to be Yuya.]
Shouki..
[The tips of her two fingers glow as the characters of his name appear between the two of them. His name floats there in a glowing font.]
..I release you.
[The name between them disappears as she strikes her fingers through it. The symbol on Yuto's upper arm shatters and vanishes as well. There's nothing but bare skin there now. Yuto has no god, at least for now until Yuya takes him in. She's not worried. If nothing else she can see his life thread and find him or Yuya in a flash should anything happen. Still the temple isn't going to be the same without him. Yuto will be missed!]
Take care of yourself and Yuya, Yuto. Remember, we'll always be here for you so don't hesitate to call us or come by. No matter what, okay?
no subject
It's gone.
It's a strange feeling, to not have a name. It feels like a part of his is missing. Now that he thinks about it, when Vector had released him it felt like this, too.
He looks at Hajime and nods after a moment.]
I know. I'll never forget. [He smiles just a tiny bit.] And you, too. I know you have Yuuki and Rise, but... remember that I will always help you if you need it.
no subject
Naaaaaah.
Still, the phantom doesn't approach the entrance, choosing to stick to the front yard and hope Hajime will sense his arrival. He's all for breaking into company buildings for his mission, but he's hesitant to get on Yuto's god's bad side. He misses his alternates, after all. All three of them. It's very lonely inside his head, and programming from the ground up can only distract him for so long.]
no subject
So now all that's left is for Yuya to arrive...
Yuto decides to wait for his facetwin near the entrance to the shrine. Yuya should probably be here soon...
Ah.
He's already here.]
Yuya.
[Yuto calls to him the moment he sees the other.]
I wanted to tell you something.
[There is a very small, but also sad smile on his face.]
no subject
Hey. What's up? [Is this why he was invited here? It feels a little weird that his alternate doesn't come outright with what he's thinking.]
no subject
You have no shinki and that made me worry. So I decided to talk with Hajime about it, ask her what we can do to help you...
[He pauses for a second, then he sighs a little and looks towards the shrine with a sad look in his eyes.]
...But I already had an idea. And she agreed to it. [He turns to his twin.] Yuya, I will become your shinki.
no subject
Heh...You've always worried too much. [But that's Yuto for you, and that's why Yuya smiles back (albeit in a tense way).]
It seems like you don't want to leave though, and I don't want to take you away from someplace you like, Yuto. [There's a pause before he finally shakes his head.] You don't have to force yourself to be my partner. Besides, I can take care of myself!
[Even if all his other thoughts are screaming to have Yuto back. Yugo and Yuri too. He hates being alone.
But this is what's right.]
no subject
Yuya, you don't understand! I'm not forcing myself to anything - I want to be with you! [He's frowning at the other, but a moment later he lets go of Yuya's hands and takes a step back, almost ashamed of his sudden outburst.
He takes a breath to calm himself and then he explain:]
I will always worry about you. You don't remember it, but I lost you once already and there's no way I'll risk losing you again. [He pauses for a moment and when he continues his voice is softer.] And I don't want you to be all alone either.
[He turns to face the shrine now.]
...Besides, even if I won't be Hajime's shinki anymore, this isn't a goodbye. I can still visit her and I will always help her if she needs it.
no subject
[It's a little difficult to process everything at once. First that frenzied declaration, and (no don't let go) a little progress of fitting the pieces together about what happened to the version of him that was hear before. But what really gets him is that last bit before Yuto turns around, and dammit he can feel the prickling behind his eyes as they begin to water up. It all really hits home, and suddenly he feels so tired that he wishes Yuto could step in and take control. That's not going to happen though, so Yuya simply drags down his goggles over his eyes while his counterpart is distracted.]
I guess I can't really argue with any of that. [Even if he's tearing up, he's good at keeping his voice from breaking and there's a grin that's both strained and elated all at once.]
Then...welcome back, Yuto. Let's be partners again!
no subject
But he can't be sad. He'll visit again, after all.
Casting one more glance at the shrine, Yuto turns to Yuya then blinks at the sight of goggles over the other's eyes. That grin looks strained, too. Yuto can't help but wonder if there is something wrong.]
...Yes. Of course. [He responds eventually, then he gives the other a concerned look.]
But... Yuya? Why do you have goggles over your eyes?
no subject
Huh? These? A-ahaha, it's just a little too bright out here for me. My temple is a bit...different.
[That should do for an explanation. His tiny island is naturally foggy, whereas the temple itself is underground.]
no subject
If you say so.
[Then his expression changes, the frown slowly vanishing from it.]
...In any case, I'm glad we'll be together again.
[Again he realizes just how much he's missed Yuya.]
no subject
Heheh, yeah. [He takes a step closer, looping his arm around Yuto's shoulders:] Now all we need to do is find out where Yugo and Yuri are. Then we'll have the team all together again!
[There's a pause though. Before they can think about the future, it's better to focus on the immediate.] By the way, is there any stuff we need to move. I can just teleport it all back to our place. And is there paperwork or something I need to fill out?
no subject
[But that's not the only thing he wants to hear from Yuya.
At the question, Yuto he shakes his head lightly.]
Teleport? Ah, well, I don't really have much things to begin with. Maybe a few clothes, but that's it.
As for what you need to do - there's no paperwork. You just need to name me.
no subject
But wow, he gets to name Yuto? He'll try not to think of anything embarrassing.]
Should we go back in then? Clothes are still important.
no subject
As for getting back for his things...]
I'll go back for them once we're done with this.
[He pauses. Okay, now that he thinks about it he probably should have explained about naming.]
... You do know that shinki have another name - a name that makes them change into their vessel form, right? I have one, too. So you just need to say it as if you're the one giving that name to me.
no subject
Hmmmm...I'm usually good with on-the-spot decisions, but figuring out an important name is completely different. What was your name before?
no subject
At the question, Yuto looks at his arm. The symbol that used to be there is now gone. It vanished when Hajime released him. Yuto puts a hand over that place.]
...It was "Shouki". I had that name when Vector was my god and it was the same when I was with Hajime.
[He's silent for the next moment.]
It's an important name.
no subject
[He really doesn't have to think on it too long, especially with Yuto's comment. If it's an important name, he should have said so to begin with. But again, this is Yuto. He doesn't exactly put out his interests on a regular basis. Good thing he has Yuya to watch out for him.]
I wouldn't want to get rid of an important name anyways.
no subject
Thank you.
[Then he glances at his arm again and sighs a little.]
And I'm sorry for trying to rush you... It just feels strange, you know? To not have a name, when I had it written on my arm for so long.
[He attempts to smile again, but the smile doesn't quite reach his eyes.
Right now, without a name he feels like he doesn't belong anywhere anymore. It's a stupid feeling and he knows about it. After all it's already decided that his place is with Yuya.
Yuto turns around.]
...Maybe I really should get my things now.
no subject
Nah, you're not rushing me. You worry too much-- and stop being so formal! It feels weird. [It just reminds him that he's almost like a stranger to Yuto. Their experiences don't match up.]
Go get 'em, and I'll name you properly once we get to my place.
no subject
...He quickly discards that thought and turns around.]
I'll be back soon.
[And with that he's gone for some time. When he's back he's holding a small bag containing his belongings. There doesn't have too much possessions, but when it comes to thing, he's never felt like he's needed anything in particular anyway.]
no subject
That's so like you. [Only keeping to the bare minimum.
He steps close now, taking Yuto's hand in his own with a bright smile.]
Yuto, I name you Shouki. I'm glad to have you by my side again.
no subject
Hearing that sentence makes a very small smile appear on his face. Now that he thinks about it Yuya knows him much better than Yuto knows himself.
And then Yuya takes his hand and says those words. Yuto wants to squeeze Yuya's hand and tell him that he's glad to be back, but before he ever gets the chance there's a bright light and a moment later Yuto's human form is replaced with that of a black dragon.
Yuto looks down at the other, wondering about his reaction to this.]
