Peace on earth, goodwill to men (and gods) [OTA]
Who: Nephenee and YOU
December 25th. The day many denizens of the Near Shore exchanged gifts, gift many times they'd braved crowds and traffic to get. The people of Greece celebrated in their own special way, as did the Japanese (and she had yet to understand why fried chicken was so popular). For others, it meant celebrating the birth of one they believed to be their savior. For others, it was more a time for gift giving and merrymaking. And to the cynics, it was too commercialized for their liking. But for Nephenee, who had only recently learned of the holiday, it was a day of wishing for peace and hope and trying to give that to others. To someone who heard she had spent a good chunk of her adult and teen life as a soldier, that might have sounded odd, but as a technical pacifist, she yearned for that peace. She didn't want people to have to fight, and never wanted others to be without hope as she had been once upon a time.
To that effect, Nephenee (and a bribed Varian and Anemone) had been working hard on things for the denizens of the heavens. There were certainly some personalized gifts for the few she'd grown close to, but there were many more that were a bit more generic. She was vowing to work on that this coming year...it couldn't be said that a goddess of agriculture and war and such was shy!...ok maybe it could, but she'd try to overcome it anyway, and this was a step towards that.
On this day, when she'd finished her chores and the last few touches on things, she put the last touches on her bunny sled: all the bunnies had little fake antlers on their heads and bells on their collars, there were some shiny balls on the rails, and a bright red ribbon on the sack. The goddess herself was wearing an attractive dark red dress that managed to not clash with her hair, and a Santa hat that perhaps was pulled a little lower than it would be on a normal person without shyness issues. It's pretty hard to not notice her, all things considered, as she races from temple to temple in the snow looking like Christmas personified with the red and green and jingling...
What will you do when greeted with this spectacle, Far Shore inhabitants?

He hears bells and goes to investigate. His mouth drops open at the sight of the bunnies with antlers. They are so cute!
"Hello!" He grins and waves, to the bunnies and to the goddess that was with them.

"Hiya! Merry Christmas!"
no subject
"Are you giving our presents to your friends too?"
no subject
"Don't think we've met, Ah'm Nephenee." Despite her shyness, she put out a hand for him to shake.

His eyes return to the giant bunnies for a moment and he smiled.

What adorable rabbits!

"Merry Christmas, Nephenee. Love the rabbits and the outfit. Putting the mantle of Athena aside for a day to be Santa?"
no subject
As he steps outside for a moment, he heard something and turns to head for the temple's front. Are those... bells he's hearing?
Once he arrives, he looks around and see...
"What's this?"
A bunny sled?
no subject
"Merry Christmas, Sir Yamanbagiri. Hope y'all're doin' good today. To answer your question, them's my sled bunnies, an' this is my sled. Say hi, girls." The rabbits all stood up momentarily on their back legs and looked at him, before flopping back down into the snow, jingling as they did. "Ah'm playin' Santa today."
no subject
And slowly getting enamoured with how adorable the bunnies are. He walks over towards Nephenee and the bunny sled.
"I'm doing fine, thanks. And Merry Christmas." He glances down at the rabbits and giving them a smile. He's a little tempted to pet them, actually. "Hello to you too."
He wants to pet them. But alas, he looks up to face Nephenee again. "You're playing Santa? Does that mean you're delivery presents?"
no subject
"Ah am. Figured Ah'd make everyone stuff for the holiday. Hey, Autumn, don't be rude," She comes over to scritch the aforementioned Autumn on the head, but the rabbit looks intently at him instead. "Ah think she's offerin' herself for pets...wanna pet 'em?"
no subject
He knows Santa Claus is a figure who deliver presents all over the world. Which normally seems impossible, if he's not a shinki living in a realm full of gods.
With a blink, he looks down at the rabbit. And then back at Nephenee at her suggestion.
"I can?" Since it seems like he's allowed to, he looks back down at the rabbit. What a cute rabbit. Yamanbagiri bends down and reach out for Autumn, before he carefully touches her head and give her pets. If the rabbit's not rejecting it, a small smile appear on his face.
... For some reason, cherry blossom petals seem to start appearing around his head. Floating and fluttering downwards.

He's pretty majorly distracted in his thoughts when he sees her, and he just... stares, intently. "I d-didn't know... th-there was a S-santa G-God..."

Nephenee shook her head, the pompom on her hat flopping around as she did. Breathe, focus..."F-far as Ah know, Ah'm the only one doin' this. Ah jus' felt like doin' it, ya know? Spread joy an' all that."
And because she had to be very insistent with herself to push past awkwardness, she held out a hand to shake. "Ya new 'round here, sir?"
no subject
"Oh." One less thing to worry about, good to know. He'd have gotten very stressed out if he had to play santa too, all of a sudden. "Th-that's nice of y-you."
He does his best to do that too sometimes, it's hard. "Y-yes, I've been here a f-few days... I wanna g-give my, uh, sh-shinki a pr-present but I d-don't know what to g-give him..."
no subject
Nah, that was silly.
Also, goodness, were her and her team energetic! But also, goodness did those rabbits look silly.
"Hey, wait a second!" she tried to call out as the sled passed by. That was probably not going to work out, though, so she floated after it.

"Hi again, Nephenee. I saw you and had to say hello. How are you doing today?"
She seemed to be in a good mood, anyway, so that was a nice start by itself.

"As for me, I'm just... doing what I usually do, I guess. This time of year, I haven't much to do." Admittedly, Thoth was not a god many prayed to at even the best of times. Must have confused the god with a robot. See, because Thoth is also known as "Djehuty," which is pretty close to the mecha from Zone of the Enders...
She noticed Neph digging out a present for her, but said nothing on the matter for the moment.

"Honestly, Ah ain't sure...haven't heard anythin' 'bout this bein' anyone's job, at least."
And now she wondered if it was someone's job...hopefully she hadn't stepped on anyone's toes doing this.
"Ah didn't even know 'bout this til recently...Ah stuck some treats in trees for critters, but that's 'bout it, other than makin' presents an' such. Speakin' o'which..." Nephenee pulled out a dark purple-papered box and smiled as she held it out for Patchy. "Merry Christmas, Miss Patchouli."
no subject
"That's... that's very kind of you, Nephenee, but it was kind of unnecessary.
"Still, I'm quite happy! And, I guess we do run into each other a lot, don't we?" Well, there goes anything even remotely resembling eloquence out of her.
