Heading to Town
Who: Celty and YOU! Newcomers welcome
When: Throughout January
Where: Various places around the Far Shore, Tokyo, Anywhere that works
What: Celty running deliveries for her side business, for temple business, and otherwise just riding around
Warnings: None
Deliveries
Celty's done her best to promote her business, though some of it did get drowned out other things going on.v In any case, even with the holiday season winding down there's still a need for couriers. She's also done her best to promote her work in the land of the living and a couple people manage to remember her ad long enough to hire her, even if they don't remember anything about the driver herself. It works well enough for her and it's a way to make some money on the side. She's also doing a fine service in helping to gather things from the near shore that people simply need or want on the far shore.
Perhaps you're sending her out on a job or she's just finishing one for you? Or maybe you run into her in Tokyo or elsewhere while she's out on business.
Temple Business
Celty of course isn't so selfish to focus on her side gig to neglect helping her god. Now and then she's able to help with a few things that fall into the relative domain of Thoth. Bookstores, schools and libraries find deliveries from Ibis Publishing mixed in with their orders...but all the paperwork seems to be in order and the books are of surprisingly high quality.
Back at Patchouli's temple, Celty can be spotted unloading boxes of books she's picked up from the land of the living, some to add to her god's personal library or simply borrowed from other libraries. She can also be seen taking care of the birds, baboons and cats lounging around the temple grounds basking in the general Egyptian ambiance.
Hit The Road
Even if she doesn't have work to do it's in Celty's nature to take to the roads. If anything her delivery work is more of an excuse to drive around long distance and top speed. She takes care not to put anyone in danger and she does followmost traffic laws in the land of the living, but given the chance she just pours on the speed. She can also be seen on the roads in the Far Shore, and for those who only saw her up to this when she first arrived, or those who just arrived recently, her bike is doing a much better job of mixing with the local ambiance.
Namely, it's just about silent. There's no roar of an engine, no billowing of smoke, no smell of burning gasoline or rubber in the air. Her black bike runs smooth, but whenever she lets it go for a strong run or takes a particularly tight turn the sound of a ghastly horselike wail fills the air. She'll pull to a stop if someone flags her down, but anyone who decides to ride up alongside her may be taken as a challenge to race.
Wildcard
Got another idea? Want to do a prayer? Throw it here or hit me up on pm or plurk~

hit the road
Doesn't seem like it though. And her curiosity, coupled with the fact that she recognizes the outfit of the person riding on the bike as it gets closer, makes her put up her hand to try and pull the driver's attention.
"Hey..! Over here!"
Re: hit the road
Fully stopped and safe, Celty sits up in her seat and fishes out her phone to type. 'Afternoon. Can I help you?
no subject
"No, no! I just wanted to say hi! We.." She almost says 'spoke', but maybe that's kind of sensitive with Celty's whole phone typing deal? ".. met each other a while ago! On the first day I was here! Do you remember that?"
no subject
'I do remember. It was brief but I think we were both a bit busy? Anyway it's nice to see you again.'
no subject
"But that makes this a perfect time for a better conversation, right?" Clearly she's just assuming Celty has nothing to do like her... "I'd like to get to know you better!"

hit the road (which...i am going to do for vacation...but when i'm back i'll keep tagging)
In fact, they even seem to be nudging up on Celty from behind in a deliberate provocation. Make way! The one true champion is coming through.
Wheee~
But it's not in her nature to turn down a chance to let all lose and ride, and dork she is she can't help but get caught up in the thematics of the moment either.
She glances at the other rider and moves to match pace with them. If they're going to race then they're going to do a start line right, even if they're moving while doing so.
no subject
Celty won't get to stay at her start line for long. The purple motorcyclist nods to her, once, and then turns back to the road....and immediately hits the ignition.
Overwhelming triumph. Absolute victory. Perfect domination. These are their trademarks! This is their style!
The overwhelming absolute king is probably lucky this road doesn't have many other vehicles on it.
no subject
Celty chose this road at this time of day for just the reason that the king is lucky for. Best to have a road you can open up on without causing problems for others. Traffic had its own thrill, but these opportunities weren't to be wasted.
And a proud king ought to know better than to turn their back on a black knight. Shooter lets out a baleful whinny as Celty encourages him to cut loose, and the black bike surges ahead!

Deliveries
Sorry if you aren't busy can I ask a favor?
Re: Deliveries
With the phone thrust into her face she jerks back, but then gently reaches out and pushes it back down. She nods in reply. That's all that's needed. She doesn't need to ask why before saying yes.
no subject
Thank you!
I was running some prayers for Caster and got a delivery request from one of his followers.
I need to get to Odaiba within the next hour but didn't realize how far it was from here.
Mind giving me a lift?

hit the road
She passed by to fast another time, but when he does see her approach in the distance as he's sitting in a bare tree, he swings down, dangling upside down with no effort, and he waves. Possibly too much but, he's not the number one serious individual in the Far shore in the first place. If it doesn't catch her attention now, he supposes that he'll have to find her when she's not straddling that machine at high speeds.
Re: hit the road
She caught a glimpse of him in time of course, but she was going fast enough to need to pull her bike to a sliding halt. A loud wail echoed in the air about her, sounding a lot less like a motorcycle and more like a ghastly horse whinnying in protest. But despite the trouble she does indeed succeed in coming to a stop right in front of where he's deciding to hang loose.
She says nothing, but her helmet cocks in such a way that the pitch black visor seems to shout, 'WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?'

Obi senses irritation. But Obi has never been too bothered by irritation aimed at him, it's just another feature that comes with some people, sometimes every time they deal with him.
But it wasn't like she was going to hit him if she passed by without stopping, even at that speed. He's not right in the road or anything, he's learned to at least avoid that by now. After a couple times of nearly getting run over and only managing to avoid it thanks to reflexes.
And yet, this irritation. Had she not wanted to be waved to a stop? She could have just continued.. An unhelpably polite person (with a temper)? He doesn't know. "Oh, did I interrupt you while you're busy, Miss? Sorry sorry. I just wanted to ask you a couple things, that's all."
no subject
With a smooth and practiced motion she pulls her phone out, typing into it and holds it out for him to read the screen, 'Yes? What can I help you with?'

Hit The Road - Far Shore
Either way, he's staring for a bit as she moves by and does a slow sort of wave for lack of any other way to respond to a motorcycle in the middle of ye olden temples.
Re: Hit The Road - Far Shore
As the bike rolls to a stop it makes a noise that was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike an engine. Almost something like a whinny really. Up close now he might perhaps recognize the yellow helmet she has the handlebar threaded through. The phone she fishes out to reply is the next clue.
'Hi. Do you need anything? I hope I wasn't causing a problem riding through this area.'
no subject
Meanwhile, he walks around the bike a bit. "You're Celty, right? We have some people we know in common."
Sorry, this set of replies got buried
I am. And Shooter here is a special case. He's a bit more nimble than any other motorcycle you might find.
So who is it we know in common? And who are you for that matter?
[There's a shift as she presents the last line, her shoulders and helmet tilting a bit in question and caution.]
Deliveries
When Celty pulls up to it, Ebisu waves his hand excitedly. You know, the one not holding onto Aomi. "Hello! Are you the courier we hired?"
no subject
There was a soft wail that was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike an engine as the bike pulled to a stop and Celty sat up in her seat. Her shoulders hitched in a slight bit of surprise at who she was seeing but waved back. She nodded in reply to the question before fishing her phone out to reply.
'I am. This is my side business.'
no subject
But he's getting ahead of himself. Twisting in Aomi's grip, Ebisu grabs some packages that are nearby- all fortunately fairly small, the kind that are in large envelopes filled with bubble wrap insides. "Anyway, we just need you to do some stop on the Near Shore. They're in regards to prayers of mine, and they won't make it in time if they stick to the delivery methods that humans use."
no subject
But she takes the packages with a nod of understanding at his concerns about timing. He's not the first to hire her with that in mind and one certainly doesn't want a godly blessing getting caught in the mail.
'No problem. Do you intend to pay with Near Shore currency or something else?' Happy as she is to do this it's still a business. And money from the land of the living helps keep her cat fed and her phone up to date, among other things.
