Deliveries
Celty's done her best to promote her business, though some of it did get drowned out other things going on.v In any case, even with the holiday season winding down there's still a need for couriers. She's also done her best to promote her work in the land of the living and a couple people manage to remember her ad long enough to hire her, even if they don't remember anything about the driver herself. It works well enough for her and it's a way to make some money on the side. She's also doing a fine service in helping to gather things from the near shore that people simply need or want on the far shore.

Perhaps you're sending her out on a job or she's just finishing one for you? Or maybe you run into her in Tokyo or elsewhere while she's out on business.

Temple Business
Celty of course isn't so selfish to focus on her side gig to neglect helping her god. Now and then she's able to help with a few things that fall into the relative domain of Thoth. Bookstores, schools and libraries find deliveries from Ibis Publishing mixed in with their orders...but all the paperwork seems to be in order and the books are of surprisingly high quality.

Back at Patchouli's temple, Celty can be spotted unloading boxes of books she's picked up from the land of the living, some to add to her god's personal library or simply borrowed from other libraries. She can also be seen taking care of the birds, baboons and cats lounging around the temple grounds basking in the general Egyptian ambiance.

Hit The Road
Even if she doesn't have work to do it's in Celty's nature to take to the roads. If anything her delivery work is more of an excuse to drive around long distance and top speed. She takes care not to put anyone in danger and she does follow most traffic laws in the land of the living, but given the chance she just pours on the speed. She can also be seen on the roads in the Far Shore, and for those who only saw her up to this when she first arrived, or those who just arrived recently, her bike is doing a much better job of mixing with the local ambiance.

Namely, it's just about silent. There's no roar of an engine, no billowing of smoke, no smell of burning gasoline or rubber in the air. Her black bike runs smooth, but whenever she lets it go for a strong run or takes a particularly tight turn the sound of a ghastly horselike wail fills the air. She'll pull to a stop if someone flags her down, but anyone who decides to ride up alongside her may be taken as a challenge to race.

That sound definitely was.. odd. Not the kind of noise she'd expect one of those bikes to make, but then again, what does she know! It's not like she ever remembers having driven around on one of them before, nor has she even seen here. Maybe all bikes here just make that noise! That thought makes her shrug the whole idea off quickly, instead just easily smiling at Celty.

"No, no! I just wanted to say hi! We.." She almost says 'spoke', but maybe that's kind of sensitive with Celty's whole phone typing deal? ".. met each other a while ago! On the first day I was here! Do you remember that?"

Celty did remember that, though she also seems to recall there might have been some confusion at the time over her gender? No matter now.

'I do remember. It was brief but I think we were both a bit busy? Anyway it's nice to see you again.'

She laughs a little. "Yeah, I sure was.." That's kind of how your first day works here, Minako figures, so she doesn't mind admitting a bit of weakness there. It was just all so overwhelming to be told she was dead and that there were all these new things going on she never heard of before.

"But that makes this a perfect time for a better conversation, right?" Clearly she's just assuming Celty has nothing to do like her... "I'd like to get to know you better!"

Celty didn't have much better a first day considering she was just set loose in a festival without knowing the name or appearance of who she was supposed to be looking for. Things worked out but she'd agree with Minako on the whole "overwhelming" thing.

'I don't mind. I was just out enjoying a ride.

Do you need a lift anywhere?'

It would be hard to chat while they're riding she felt like it would at least be polite to offer.

That.. is a good question, actually. Minako doesn't need a ride whatsoever, but Celty opening up the possibility of it makes her imagination - as it always does - immediately drift off. Sitting together with someone on a motorcycle while having a ride.. Is that a romantic fantasy she ever got to live out before? It's so hard to tell without her memories, but that just means she has to make new ones!

The thought of any such romantic cliche gets Minako instantly fired up, hence why she suddenly seems way too excited when she answers Celty, nodding multiple times.

"Yes! If you don't mind, I'd love to get a ride..!"

Minako's policy with memories is a good one, even if it seems it might lead her to some impulsive choices. Fortunately Celty has one of the safest rides around. Even so, she's not going to take any chances.

Nodding at Minako's enthusiasm she then holds out her hand, but not to offer it to the girl. Not just yet anyway. Black shadows stream from her sleeve and take the form of a pitch black helmet, with cat ears far more stylized than those on the top of her own helmet.

Minako doesn't seem to mind anything about having to wear a helmet. In fact, she either doesn't seem to notice or just doesn't bother to say anything about the method in which Celty got that helmet just now either. Instead of any of that, she's way busier cooing over the helmet itself once she takes it from the other.

"No way..! That's so cute!"

Her liking cats definitely helps with that even more. She already thought Celty's own helmet was kind of cool, but wearing one herself? That'd be awesome. Minako smiles widely as she holds it before looking back at the other.

"Do you like cats too?"

Celty's gotten used to some of the more 'underwhelming' responses to her powers, but she doesn't see it as a bad thing. After all, they're all dead or gods here, and then there are others who are just as strange as her if not moreso. Still, she does enjoy when she manages to spook someone. You need to savor those moments.

She'd smile if she could at Minako's reaction though, and when her hand is free to type a reply she offers up, 'I love them. I could watch videos of them all day. I also have one at the temple.'

She flicks through her phone to show a few pictures she's taken of the grey tabby. He seems a clingy snoozy sort.

Wow. Celty is nice but also definitely kind of cool with the motorcycle, is willing to offer rides to cute girls like her and likes cats? She's getting more awesome by the minute, and Minako looks so happily at the pictures Celty is showing her.

"Aw.. That one seems adorable..!" Even more so since it doesn't seem like a cat that's very hard to deal with. Minako can appreciate that sort of thing. "What's his or her name?"

Celty really is the whole package, with all sorts of people who were out to get her back in her life. Of course, most of those people were after her thanks to a stupid bounty put on her by a tv executive. But at least she had a devoted boyfriend back in her old life, right? Here's hoping he hasn't done anything dangerous while hunting for her or anything.

'His name is Shinra. I'm not sure if it's the perfect name for him, but it was the first one that came to mind.'

"Shinra..?"

She repeat the name, as if she's trying out the sound of it while looking at the picture of the cat.

"Well.. I can't really say whether it matches him or not, since I've never met him, but.. I think what's most important is that you as his owner like the name and that he himself does! Then there's no problem, right?"

Celty's nod in response is all the more cheerful as Minako goes along with her on this, her fingers flying excitedly as she replies.

'Exactly! He's my fuzzy little companion and he makes me happy!

Oh, um, so where was it you wanted to go?'

All this happy talk about cats and she completely forgot about the ride she offered.

Cat conversations are the best way to lose track of time if you'd ask Minako. In fact, it was working in her favor a little bit here. Because while she definitely wants to have a romantic ride on Celty's motorcycle, she definitely doesn't have a good excuse about having to go somewhere..

.. which means she'll just have to think up something on the spot. Wait, thankfully she's not too close to Zelda's temple right now--

"Can you bring me back home? It's a bit of a walk back to Zelda's temple.." She could totally walk back herself, really, but she wants!! to sit!! on that motorcycle!! and cling to Celty!!

'Sure. Just tap on my shoulders when I should turn. GPS doesn't really work on the Far Shore.'

She scoots up a bit on the bike, giving Minako room to climb on behind her. Of course, letting Minako navigate gives her some control over how long the ride will take.

In truth, Celty's not in any rush to be anywhere herself and is just enjoying being out on the road.

Well, if Celty is going to make it that easy for her.. Then of course Minako is going to prolong the ride. For sure. She won't do it to a ridiculous extent, but it's not like it can hurt to just take a longer route, right?

Especially when she's actually having a lot of fun like this. She's wearing a cute kitty helmet, she can cling to Celty's back (which she is definitely doing, for sure) and sitting on a motorcycle is pretty exciting in general.

So she does tap occassionally, but she's making sure the route goes almost in a big circle around the temple before it does lead there-- and when they're nearing it, she raises her voice to tell Celty to stop at the temple over there.

As they finally reach the temple, it does occur to Celty that they perhaps took a route that wasn't quite as direct as it could have been, but she has no reason to think anything ill of it. Much like Minako she had fun with the ride too. Being on the road is joy enough for her, and her passenger was good company.

Celty waits until they roll to a complete stop before glancing over her shoulder and gives Minako a nod.

(ooc: no particular direction in mind from this point but I've been enjoying them both together. We should throw them together again once I get back from hiatus.)

Minako hops off once the motor stops, and when she pulls the helmet off her head, the big smile on her face is immediately visible. Maybe a motor ride would be too simple for most people to get that excited about, but Minako just has a whole lot of spirit - and a huge imagination that can easily spin just about anything into some fantasy of hers.

"Thanks!" She holds out the helmet to give it back to Celty. "Does this mean I could get a ride again sometime when I need it?"

Seeing Minako's expression, Celty can't help but feel pleased herself and her shoulders rise a bit in her own happiness. And really, considering it's part of her nature, Celty can completely understand the joy of being out on the road.

Taking the helmet back, it dissolves back into shadow and vanishes up her sleeve before she starts to type up her reply. 'If I'm not busy, I don't mind. I also run a side business if you ever need anything delivered.'
