38 - Power Palette Swap
Who: Everyone!
What: Power Palette Swap Event!
When: April 15th - April 18th 2017 (March 1st - March 8th 2019)
Where: Throughout the Far Shore and Near Shore
Summary: A couple of intrepid magical investigators unknowingly trigger some mishaps among the New Gods and Shinki.

For two weeks, the Ama investigators have been combing the compound where Cultists were dealt a heavy blow by the New Gods and Shinki. Among them, two in particular had been looking to move the Crystal that the cultists had in their basement, the stand that it sat on, and the dolls nearby. Combined with Waver's analysis, Judar succeeds in using his magic to transport the Crystal out of the basement.
As they manage that, a ripple effect washes over the New Gods and Shinki. There is a slight sense of Vertigo for some, a stronger wave for others, and then things start to change...

As It Happens: April 15
April 16
April 17
Aftermath: April 18

In Summary:

- Everyone was minding their own business. Perhaps they were on the Near Shore helping complete a prayer, or they were in the Far Shore attending to various godly duties. Regardless of where everyone was, it's around noon when some things start to change. A mild sense of vertigo happens to those who start to experience physical body changes, while a stronger wave seems to wash over the God or Shinki's skin if their powers are changing, or perhaps even a sudden stop-in-your-tracks deadening of feeling if being depowered entirely.
April 16
- Later in the afternoon, through no extra effort of the Crystal-movers, a loud noise like a subwoofer kicking into effect issues from within the Crystal, knocking anyone away who was near it by several feet. The one-shot noise reverberates in the ears of all New Gods and Shinki, triggering another change for some. At the Crystal, the black color that appeared when the former Goddess entered the Crystal fills more of it.
April 17
- Closer to 7pm, once more, the noise issues forth from the Crystal, louder and knocking people back several yards this time. The Crystal fills with black and grey. Some might swear they can see a face of the white-grey against all of the black, resembling an Inkblot / Rorschach test style picture.
Aftermath: April 18
- Around 10am, the black coils from within the Crystal settle down into more of whispy smoke, much harder to see in it. There's a slight tug in the direction of the Crystal regardless of where New Gods and Shinki stand, and with that pull, the change effects go away and all are returned to as they were.

In Summary:
- Swap powers with another character!
- Gain or lose powers!
- Swap physical appearances with another character!
- Use or abuse the changes while you can!
- Investigate who and what is responsible!
- Have fun~

[ There is time and place for dog kisses... okay no, it's always place and time. But Caster didn't nap well and he has to fight back the sudden onslaught of affection. Still Lucky is a tiny puppy (forever puppy) so Caster is much more careful with her than with other dogs. So he indulges a bit trying to deattach the doggo from himself.
That's when he notices how his hands look like ]
The fuck--? [ That's the moment when he stands up without consideration for the dogs, which fortunately all deal with it gracefully. He looks down at himself seeing the familiar Berserker's armor and tatoos. He also catches glimpse of reflection in the window ]
What the hell is going on here? [ Now he very much doesn't sound like apathetic Berserker ] Was this supposed to be funny Archer?
[ OF COURSE BLAME THE ONLY PERSON IN THE ROOM ]
no subject
What do you mean?
1/2
But he's forever a little shit, and given how he can see (and feel) Archer being just as confused as he is, he concludes - it is not Archer's fault. More, Archer is not even aware that he is talking to his god, not Balor.
Let's play a bit okay?
So "Berserker" stands up (it is so weird to have an armor with a tail that actually moves) and walks towards Archer. Oh, he's kinda taller now. Good, good. ]
Are you saying it is not your doing? [ The "Berserker" smiles, and it's way more toothy than it should be. A hint of excitement shows up in his eyes. Does it mean he can-- summon his spear now? He extends his hand and makes the weapon materialize ]
2/2
Ah, that sucks... [ The disappointment is R E A L. ]
1/2
Suddenly Berserker makes a familiar gesture- oh damn it! - and Archer is ready to get mauled. His hand freezes in a position to grab his sword, yet he doesn't project it.
Enemy with a weapon in hand triggers fighting instincts, no matter if they're trying to protect themselves.
He's going to get killed, isn't he-]
2/2
No, seriously, what. Instead of a spiky spear Archer sees a familiar staff. Berserker's reaction is perhaps a bit too animated, but that can be explained by the weapon change.
Right. Archer releases a breath he's been holding and makes an attempt to collect his thoughts.]
...I have no idea what's going on here.
[Aside the obvious, that means a Berserker that looks more animated than usual and lacks the ability to summon his beloved weapon. Still, Archer prefers to play safe and not antagonize a possible threat. So he decides on peace offering.] Would you like a drink?
[Cú Chulainn and booze mixes well.]
no subject
Pour me a pint. Maybe I'll find a piece of advice at the bottom of the glass. [ He huffs and puffs, tail swinging left and right- but instead of seating himself he follows Archer to the kitchen area. ]
no subject
Here you go. [Come to think of it, drunk Caster poses no threat. He can easily handle even the most embarassing displays. Handling drunk Berserker, on the other hand, may be too much for him.]
There's more, but I prefer to be aware if you know your limits beforehand.
no subject
Still, there's a surprising sting that even someone who lived with him for nearly a year can't tell a difference. On the other hand, a proof that they are not That Different, even with Berserker being an Alter. ]
I'm not going to list you the exact amount of alcohol you need to pour me to drink me under the table.
no subject
He still rolls his eyes at the accusation.]
I'm not planning to, since I prefer the Temple to be still standing.
[The similarities are uncanny, to say the least. Both are different aspects of Cu Chullain, but for both of them to be here together there must be an important difference. Archer can think of one possibility, for even blackened Servants have the same Spirit Origin, no matter if blackened and twisted. But molding someone to other's wishes, going as far to alter their origin, is possible only thanks to unique circumstances. It's making him uneasy, and to shake off this feeling Archer busies himself with bringing snacks.]
Nevermind, I'll bring you more booze. Wait here for a bit.
[Time to raid the cellar for the neverending supply of alcoholic beverages. He'd rather not bring Berserker there. Downstairs he goes, wondering whose idea it was to have entrance to the cellar in the training room.]
no subject
He's not in the best mood. So he taps the table, wondering how to do it, and then- just teleports himself right at the door to the basement. He stands beside them and when Archer leaves it, he just puts his (Berserker's) clawed hand on other man's shoulder ]
Took you long enough. I got bored.
no subject
A good thing is that his reflex saves the jug filled with traditional celtic ale.]
Careful, you don't want your booze spilled on the floor. [he turns his head slightly to frown at the spiky dog.]
no subject
Maybe if I pass out I will wake up and be my normal self again.
[ TIME TO TEST THAT THEORY OUT - stop him please ]
no subject
Better come upstairs. [a beat.] I'm not going to drag you upstairs if you pass out here.
[Time to test the sudden suspicion. Which of the Cú Chulainns is he dealing with now.]
