[Ren's holding a dagger in one hand and he tosses it at a nearby tree. He's just training and trying to hone his fighting skills. Too bad he's doing it out here in the open. This might be dangerous. Be careful when walking near him.

For those that do know Ren might notice that he looks different. He's wearing what appears to be a black cloak and a mask. It's different from casual wear and it definitely stands out as odd. ]

Wait, I messed up. This isn't going to cut it.

[He waves his hand and tries to greet anyone who passes by.]

B. Temples

[This time he's just trying to take care of some things closer to home. His god, Ain took in some bees. Honestly Ren didn't spend time with them at all. He's outside with a little tiny bee on his finger. It might sting him, but he doesn't seem to care about that. Instead, he looks at you curiously with focused eyes.]


....Do you know what bees like to eat?

[Yeah, this is what he's been pondering about all this time. He never really thought about it.]

Woah! Careful there! You don’t want to hit someone with that blade.

[Iskandar has a habit of wandering around. Sometimes it takes him to strange places.
He doesn’t even register that Ren might be dressed funny. It’s not like he is very conservative in his choice of attire himself. Right now he wears a very casual kimono and a pair of black hakamas but that’s not the norm.
So he doesn’t bat an eye at Ren’s outfit. Though that mask is pretty interesting. ]

You’re technique could use improvement.

[ How curious. Ren stops what he's doing and looks at Iskander with a wave.]

I'm working on it. Have any tips? Figured that I could spend some time brushing up on my skills.

[ Iskander looks like a seasoned warrior so maybe he knows useful tricks. ]

I would start with finding a safer training ground. Unless your objective is stabbing random people who just happen to be around while you practice. To which I must object.

[All skills require constant practice lest they'll be in danger of deteriorating quickly. No matter the skill or level of mastery. ]

The force of the throw comes from your arm but it's the movement of the wrist that gives it direction. There are different types of techniques for different types of knives. It depends on what you are using [he pauses] and what for.

Yeah, maybe. I thought this place wouldn't be crowded so..

[He miscalculated. Oops. But, Iksander does pull out a few good points. ]

I guess I'm just trying to be more precise? As you can see I'm not exactly packing huge amounts of muscles. It'd be more efficient to be accurate.

Crowded or not, nobody expects flying daggers here. So I would highly recommend using the training grounds. They have proper equipment as an additional benefit.

If it's precision you're after it would serve you well to have a good, clean target and not some random tree. So that you can easier track the consecutive throws and then judge if you're making any progress at all.

[Iskandar lift an eyebrow. There's a hint of amusement lingering when he speaks.]

Muscle alone rarely wins the fight. Swiftness and agility can be just as deadly.

[Spoken by a man who is a veritable mountain. Easy for him to say.]

Looks like you've got plenty of muscle. So, what's your secret?

[Ren takes another look at Iksander.]

Do any intense work outs? It's hard to not notice your build.

[Iskandar scratches his beard. It's not like he has a regimen. He just does what he always did. Since he was ten years old.]

Running. It helps if you can find something heavy to lift. I also train with sword and spear as these are my main weapons.

[He thinks for a moment. Not much else that would not require someone of his strength as a partner.]

I would like to wrestle but unfortunately, I'm lacking a proper partner for it. You might have more luck though. Wrestling is very good. It builds stamina, good coordination... Pretty much anything you may need in combat.

[Garry is only passing by coincidentally, really, since he likes to take regular jogs. Well, regular jogs, while also accompanied by a small group of rolling purple robot goats. Listen, don't ask him, they're Hibiki's. Things just happened.]

[Still, he slows down a little when he sees Ren, and blinks at the question.]

It would be flowers, right? Well, rather, they gather the pollen...

Oh yeah, that's right. I wonder if this would be okay then.

[Ren puts the bee ontop of a flower pot and hopes it's happy there with the plants. ]

That should do it. They look happy, don't they?

[ ren's not the only one who looks different. a hooded figure approaches him, also donning a black cloak. but the voice that comes out isn't one that matches the boy's appearance.

ren will probably recognize it as his friend's. ]

Ren? Did you need something?

[ Ren pauses in his tracks and looks at Pyrrah with the most concerning look.]

It's....it's a ghost. No , never mind. It's just you Pyrrah.

[ What's with the get up though? Is she into cosplay?]

I'm trying to trim this tree down. The branches aren't steady to begin with and I've seen cats get hurt up there.

Yes, it's me. I know I don't look like I usually do, but...

[ what's cosplay ]

Oh. That's very kind of you, Ren. But... [ now it's her turn to comment on his outfit. ] Are you sure that's comfortable to work in?

It's not. Actually, I'm not even sure why I'm wearing this.

[It kind of just happens and he has to deal with it for some reason??? An unexplained occurrence really.]

I can say the same thing. I'm not sure why I look like this, either.

[ smh, these two. ]

If you could help me slice off some of the branches that'd be great. Oh, and we need to move the left over wood .

[ Maybe he can build something with the wood that fell over. ]

[ Ah, it's Ren. Shiro's seen him around the temple, and he knows Pyrrha is fond of him, so he's already decided to help with whatever. The fact that he's so gently handling a bee, and is so concerned about it... That says a lot about him, he thinks. ]

Pollen and nectar from flowers. Do you need any kind of flower in particular?

Maybe something bigger....? Like a sunflower or even dandelions might be good.

[ He looks up at Shiro while being careful to not harm the bee. ]

I don't grow those types of flowers much. We should find a nice one for this little guy.

I don't have any sunflowers around, but it'd be easy enough to get some to plant.

[ He smiles slightly. ]

And it'll help the other little guys, too.

Nice, that'll be perfect. I think I remember seeing you around.

[Ren scratches his forehead and folds his arms together.]

Aren't you with Pyrrah? I might be mistaken.

Conveniently enough, the Far Shore's greatest master of the thrown weapon does indeed have a second and more to spare!

[Not weirdly transformed today, Edge is... nonetheless wearing a mask and cape. Because that's how he rolls on a daily basis.]

[Ren gives Edge a pile of twigs and branches from the ground.]

...This is not what I expected when you threw a dagger and said the greatest master of the thrown weapon was just what you needed.

[He scratches his chin.]
