Book Party [ota]
Who: Romeo, Elfnein and literally everyone in the heavens. Even if you weren't personally invited every invite came with a +ALL YOUR FRIENDS and there's also a sign. Strangers are just friends these two haven't met yet.
When: 29th April. Afternoon onwards
Where: Temple Smol (Gegute's library)
What: Just the cutest book party the heavens has ever known! Bring your best book!
Arrival
You might have received an invitation, or perhaps you are just passing Gegute’s library but there is an brightly painted sign outside.
Book Party today!
Everyone welcome! Bring your best book or dress up!
Lots of tasty food!
The doors of the temple are open and once you arrive in the lobby there are more bright arrows pointing the way into the library. If you are still stuck mister Goat is at the help desk, he’ll direct any one who needs it!
Activities
The layout of the library hasn’t really changed at all, except a few tables being moved to accommodate activities and all the comfy reading cushions have been brought to a central location. All the shelves are decorated with colourful paper chains and streamers.
Romeo had really enjoyed Yuna’s birthday party with the activities to do so he had copied the idea for Elfnein’s book party! On one table there is material for making bookmarks. You might want to recut the card strips, they are a little wonky. There is ribbon and glitter and colouring pens and glue.
On another there is a cardboard box puppet theatre, painted in a riot of colours with colourful strips of material as curtains. There is some felt and other material, as well as scissors, glue and wool to make puppets with. A sign reads in childish Hirigana. Show your best book!
Food
The invitations had promised lots of tasty food and there sure was a lot! A whole table filled with tasty treats, Romeo had been very very busy! There was a whole tray of chopped fruit, another of vegetables like carrots and cucumber.
There was bread and cheese and two bowls of pasta with different sauces. Another bowl of noddles with meat and vegetables. There was a huge bowl of rice too with a tray of grilled fish and a bowl of broccoli and asparagus.
An entire part of the table was taken up by apples and things with apples in them, apple turnovers and even an attempt at an apple pie, it was a bit smushed but probably tasted fine.
There was a tray of very misshapen cookies with messy icing and another of even messier cupcakes with far too much buttercream. There were also churos and a chocolate Gateaux, these seemed to have been bought rather than made, Romeo hadn’t even known where to start it making them!
There was an attempt at making books and other shapes out of rice and vegetables packed in the two bento boxes Ebisu’s temple had given him for Christmas, but they were a bit crumbly, misshapen or just plain strange. In the centre of Romeo’s bento attempts was his magical bento box, every time it was opened there were different fancy bento creations, if the children’s attempts left a lot to be desired.
Have fun!

And wounds just as many too. The advantages of being a charming protagonist? And sure, she does save a lord in one of the routes, but that's complicated in its own right. In hindsight, she's not the most heroic of protagonists, but this is also a game about dating people and crossing swords.
"I brought a cake too."
no subject
He was sure there was room... Somewhere! It would be fine they could rearrange things!
"It was very nice of you to bring cake and bread!"
no subject
"No problem. The more food the merrier everyone can be. Want the first slice?"
no subject
"There's some knives over here!" He went to grab one from where he had put them and carried it very carefully back over to Ginia.
no subject
Her smile is terse as she carefully takes the knife from him and cuts into the cake. Fluffy white cake with layers of whipped cream and sliced fruit in between, it's a very pretty looking cake and just as delicious too. She cuts Romeo a generous slice and plates it for him before cutting a smaller slice for herself. Best to save more for others.
no subject
"This looks so tasty!" It's a very big slice though! He's a shinki so he's always hungry but even still!
"It was very nice of you to bring it, miss Ginia!" Now... How to eat this, he's not sure his mouth opens wide enough!
no subject
But with no crisis at all, it's time to enjoy cake. A one-bite cake this is not; Ginia grabs forks for the both of them. She cuts into her slice, separating out one layer of cake and biting into it. Nom. Nom. Nom.
"All the food looks great. Did you and Elfnein make it?" she signs once she finishes a few bites.
no subject
Or maybe not. Forks are a new thing for Romeo unlike chopsticks, where mister Kimi had given him incentive to learn how to use them well, it was often easier just to use his hands.
Another downside of a temple with no adults. But Romeo tried to copy Ginia. It's a bit messy, he had to use his other hand to keep the bit of cake on the fork but soon he had a bite of cake. Yum! He grinned and tackled another piece!
"This is so nice!"
no subject
"I'm glad you like it. It's from a bakery near one of Ebisu's shrines."
no subject
He's seen bakeries on the Near Shore, their windows full of cakes and other tasty things.
no subject
It's hard work being a baker, cooking in general too. Ginia wakes up early most days but she knows the kitchen staff at Ebisu is up earlier to make sure everything is ready for breakfast and lunch.
Ginia looks over the table again, truly impressed by the spread of food.
"Did you and Elfnein make everything?"
no subject
"We stayed up all night! Elfnein doesn't sleep lots anyways because she can just drink coffee all day and be alright but I think even she is tired!"
no subject
"You and Elfnein should get some rest. Take a nap at least."
no subject
"And what if things run out! It's important we are good hosters!"
Very important! Romeo's learned lots about parties!
no subject
"Make sure you two get a good night of sleep and take it easy tomorrow then."
no subject
Because the kitchen. The kitchen. It was like a flour monster had rampage through it and had a fight with a tomato monster!
no subject
A pity there isn't any magic to put things right. Some auto-cleaning mops would be useful.
no subject
"But even if they don't it will be okay because me and Elfnein do really good teamwork!"
no subject
"I'm not keeping you from greeting people, am I?"
no subject
"I should go and say hello though!"
no subject
"Don't forget to have fun too."
no subject
And he's off! Darting into the crowd, so many more friends to great!
