Who: Romeo, Elfnein and literally everyone in the heavens. Even if you weren't personally invited every invite came with a +ALL YOUR FRIENDS and there's also a sign. Strangers are just friends these two haven't met yet.

What: Just the cutest book party the heavens has ever known! Bring your best book!



Arrival

You might have received an invitation, or perhaps you are just passing Gegute’s library but there is an brightly painted sign outside.

Everyone welcome! Bring your best book or dress up!

Lots of tasty food!

The doors of the temple are open and once you arrive in the lobby there are more bright arrows pointing the way into the library. If you are still stuck mister Goat is at the help desk, he’ll direct any one who needs it!

Activities

The layout of the library hasn’t really changed at all, except a few tables being moved to accommodate activities and all the comfy reading cushions have been brought to a central location. All the shelves are decorated with colourful paper chains and streamers.

Romeo had really enjoyed Yuna’s birthday party with the activities to do so he had copied the idea for Elfnein’s book party! On one table there is material for making bookmarks. You might want to recut the card strips, they are a little wonky. There is ribbon and glitter and colouring pens and glue.

On another there is a cardboard box puppet theatre, painted in a riot of colours with colourful strips of material as curtains. There is some felt and other material, as well as scissors, glue and wool to make puppets with. A sign reads in childish Hirigana. Show your best book!

Food

The invitations had promised lots of tasty food and there sure was a lot! A whole table filled with tasty treats, Romeo had been very very busy! There was a whole tray of chopped fruit, another of vegetables like carrots and cucumber.

There was bread and cheese and two bowls of pasta with different sauces. Another bowl of noddles with meat and vegetables. There was a huge bowl of rice too with a tray of grilled fish and a bowl of broccoli and asparagus.

An entire part of the table was taken up by apples and things with apples in them, apple turnovers and even an attempt at an apple pie, it was a bit smushed but probably tasted fine.

There was a tray of very misshapen cookies with messy icing and another of even messier cupcakes with far too much buttercream. There were also churos and a chocolate Gateaux, these seemed to have been bought rather than made, Romeo hadn’t even known where to start it making them!

There was an attempt at making books and other shapes out of rice and vegetables packed in the two bento boxes Ebisu’s temple had given him for Christmas, but they were a bit crumbly, misshapen or just plain strange. In the centre of Romeo’s bento attempts was his magical bento box, every time it was opened there were different fancy bento creations, if the children’s attempts left a lot to be desired.

That's a really clever idea! [He skipped over towards the picture books. He knows where they are!

Soon enough they are at some shorter shelves filled with picture books. There is a larger book case near by though filled with thinner books that look different than picture books and he goes to look at it.] Are these comic books?

I'm not sure.. [ Especially since she's more used to manga, which usually isn't as thin. But she has seen western comics before too, so.. She tries glancing at the spines of the thinner books, but it's hard when they're this thin to begin with. ]

They could be the right size? Here, you grab one so we can take a good look!

[He grabs one at random and looks at it before opening to a random page.

It did indeed seem to be a comic, if a very childish one about a dog who seemed to be looking for something, from what Romeo could see in the pictures. There were no words on this page though, just a dog looking more and more upset as he looked in different places like the bathtub and the garden.] Is this a comic?

[ Well.. Yes, that sure is a comic, even if it's not the typical kind Minako herself reads. But between this and Romeo talking about picture books, she's slowly starting to wonder if this isn't just some sort of huge library with only children's books..

She scratches the back of her head a little as she's thinking about it. ]

Uh-huh, it is. It doesn't really look like any comic I've read before though.

It doesn't? [If Minako looks around she will see they are clearly in the children's corner of the library, the real comics were probably elsewhere. But Romeo is most familiar with this part of the library as it is at his reading level.

Romeo turned the page and saw words in a circle.] Oh is this what you mean by bubbles, miss Minako?

[reloves]

[ She's wandered over to look at the shelves and pull a comic off one of said shelves.. and yeah, looking through it, this definitely seems like children's books. Not really what Minako herself was hoping to find.

It's only when he speaks up again that Minako looks up to glance at the comic Romeo is holding. ]

Yeah! [ Well, at least he learned something. ]

All of these comics though seem a little.. [ .. how to put this diplomatically. She's not good at it, this is why she usually doesn't deal with children!! ] .. for.. younger people than me?

They are? [He guessed miss Minako was a grown up and dogs getting into adventures were maybe not what she liked reading about.] I bet there's some that are better in the grown up book bit!

[reloves]

Let's take a look over there then! I want to find something romantic!

[ .. But she'll take action too, really. She's not picky. Just something that's on a slightly higher level than these children's comics over here. ]

[He leads the way over to where the older story books are. He's lived here for a long time now so he knows his way around pretty confidently.]

You really like romantic stories then, miss Minako?

[reloves]

Of course! [ She's following along, of course! And since he's leading the way, she can turn her attention to Romeo for a moment without just getting lost in the library somehow. ] Aren't those the most interesting kind of stories? There's nothing like the tension between two people who are about to get together!

[myblueskies]

Tension? Like they are mad at each other? Why would they be mad at each other if they love each other?

[But then again, he'd been told that Romeo and Juliet was a romance and they both died in the end so maybe romances had a lot of fighting in them!]

[reloves]

[ Romeo, you're way too young for Romeo and Juliet!! We need more child-friendly love stories up in here! ]

No, no, it's not that kind of tension! It's...

[ Please don't explain the concept of sexual tension to An Actual Child, Minako. ]

You know..! [ Waving her hands vaguely while trying to come up with something that's safe for children. ] The whole tension of will they or won't they get together in the end!

Will they or won't they get together? [Was it that complicated?] Do people not know then? If they want to be together?

[ She nods, seeming a lot more confident about this answer. If not just because it's a whole lot safer. ]

Love is mysterious like that! Sometimes you don't realise even your own feelings right away.

You don't? [He frowned.] Feelings are tricky aren't they!

[Very tricky indeed.] How do you know then? If you want to be together with someone?
