Who: Romeo, Elfnein and literally everyone in the heavens. Even if you weren't personally invited every invite came with a +ALL YOUR FRIENDS and there's also a sign. Strangers are just friends these two haven't met yet.

You might have received an invitation, or perhaps you are just passing Gegute’s library but there is an brightly painted sign outside.

Lots of tasty food!

The doors of the temple are open and once you arrive in the lobby there are more bright arrows pointing the way into the library. If you are still stuck mister Goat is at the help desk, he’ll direct any one who needs it!

Activities

The layout of the library hasn’t really changed at all, except a few tables being moved to accommodate activities and all the comfy reading cushions have been brought to a central location. All the shelves are decorated with colourful paper chains and streamers.

Romeo had really enjoyed Yuna’s birthday party with the activities to do so he had copied the idea for Elfnein’s book party! On one table there is material for making bookmarks. You might want to recut the card strips, they are a little wonky. There is ribbon and glitter and colouring pens and glue.

On another there is a cardboard box puppet theatre, painted in a riot of colours with colourful strips of material as curtains. There is some felt and other material, as well as scissors, glue and wool to make puppets with. A sign reads in childish Hirigana. Show your best book!

Food

The invitations had promised lots of tasty food and there sure was a lot! A whole table filled with tasty treats, Romeo had been very very busy! There was a whole tray of chopped fruit, another of vegetables like carrots and cucumber.

There was bread and cheese and two bowls of pasta with different sauces. Another bowl of noddles with meat and vegetables. There was a huge bowl of rice too with a tray of grilled fish and a bowl of broccoli and asparagus.

An entire part of the table was taken up by apples and things with apples in them, apple turnovers and even an attempt at an apple pie, it was a bit smushed but probably tasted fine.

There was a tray of very misshapen cookies with messy icing and another of even messier cupcakes with far too much buttercream. There were also churos and a chocolate Gateaux, these seemed to have been bought rather than made, Romeo hadn’t even known where to start it making them!

There was an attempt at making books and other shapes out of rice and vegetables packed in the two bento boxes Ebisu’s temple had given him for Christmas, but they were a bit crumbly, misshapen or just plain strange. In the centre of Romeo’s bento attempts was his magical bento box, every time it was opened there were different fancy bento creations, if the children’s attempts left a lot to be desired.

The ones on phones at least. Other ones can run longer, but it's like a good book. Sometimes you can't put it down?

[Ginia nods when D2 mentions staying away from war-related stuff. She doesn't remember as much as her background, but some stories or movies leave her uncomfortable in a way she can't fully explain. Or angry at the blatantly bad sniper practices.]

I really like fantasy too. I know there's magic and spirits and what we do is pretty urban fantasyesque, but there's something amazing about dragon and knights and magic.

If it's taking a break in listening to them I can understand, there are some that are hard to turn off.

There is that here but yeah, it's different with stories. It's something a bit more...mmm...freeing, in the stuff that's unrelated to what we do.

I think it's amazing the kinds of stories people come up with. It's very impressive. Like the one posted on the network here. Have you seen it?

[AKA Chikusa's self-insert romance? It may not be greatly written, but Ginia's fond of the story and not only because she belatedly realized who the writer is. There's a charm to it.]

People can have so much imagination, that is amazing. And the ability to put it into words.

I've seen it but I haven't read it. I'm not good at sitting down to read things that aren't for work and the like, if it's a little more extensive.

[There's a slight raise of her brow. There's certainly a general air of professionalism around D2 behind his laid-back appearances. Military will do that to you (though she can't quite remember it for herself).]

It's not bad. There are some good crime parts. Sniping sections are pretty decent.

[Not that she gave advice or anything.]

Could always put the story through a text-to-audio program and listen to it.

Isn't that a romance story? There's sniping in it?

[ That's a bit unusual, isn't it? Probably helps in narrowing down the author behind it. ]

It's a crime story with romance elements. Or vice-versa depending on how you want to look at it. It's only a few chapters in so the romance is still building.

[The author might not be a sniper, but anyone who has met Chikusa and knows about Ken will be able to pinpoint the author pretty easily. On the other hand, with how few snipers there are around, it's probably not hard pinpointing who Sniper Anon is either.]

I wonder if more people will post stories in the future. Or artwork or other talents?

So a crime story, then. It would probably be easier to look at it that way. If there's not that many chapters there's not that many hours of listening.

[ D2 might figure that out later too, once he gets around to it. ]

Maybe they will, there are some artistically inclined people around this place. Some which are clearly a bit shy.

[Ginia holds up five fingers, pauses, then adds one more finger. Six chapters sounds right. They're not the longest either so it'd be pretty easy to get through.

She tilts her head toward the origami he's folding up.]

No, not particularly.

[ He would count the origami if it were others. Not so much when it's him. ]

[Ginia glances pointedly down at the origami he's working on. There's a small bunch of assorted paper flowers blooming on her side of the table.]

Casual hobby, I take it? I haven't met too many others that know origami.

Yes? It's just something to keep my hands busy?

[ He'd rather work with guns, but this is a kids party. ]

I get that. It's why I picked up origami.

[Much easier to get materials for than flower arranging, a little more structured too. There are true masters that can create their own designs with all the knowledge they've accrued, but Ginia's happy following someone else's directions and working up in difficulty.]

Is it fun for you though?

[ It might be why he did it, too. He knows he knew how to do it since before enlisting. ]

It is. Or maybe more relaxing than fun, but I enjoy it.

[There's a wry smile and a waggle of her hand in a light apologetic gesture before she resumes typing.]

I know so many people who do things because it's practical or fills time rather than enjoyment I never know these days who actually likes things.

That's the point either way, enjoying it.

[ It's no good if it's boring, the relaxation. ]

I suppose that it can be a bit hard, sometimes. Some people don't let it show on their face no matter what. They can look so very angry all the time.

Or they make it clear they prefer practicality above all else.

[There aren't too many that fall into the "No Fun" category, but some could stand to lighten up a little.]

To each their own though. All kinds of people for all kinds of situations.

Different views on things makes for more variety, anyway. You can't agree about everything.

This is true. It's important to have different viewpoints and ideas. That's something Heaven could stand to learn.

[Can't help people if you aren't willing to think from a human perspective or adapt to their changes.]

Though there definitely seem to be a particular kinds of skills or attitudes drawn here.
