The Nyaramachi Neko Art Festival
Who: Everyone!
When: The entire month of June
Where: Naramachi
What: Because there's interest in the Nyaramachi Neko Art Festival, here's a log to use for some festival fun. Because this festival runs all through June, people coming in on the training log can absolutely jump in too.
The month-long festival is a must see for fans of cats or anyone looking for some unique fun and a chance to get out and relax. With more than forty establishments participating, there's food, entertainment, shopping, cat cafes, and more. Try your hand at making pottery, or get a makeover in the style of CATS! Adoption events and efforts to catch strays for medical checkups and spaying/neutering are also in full force. Maybe you'll find your own furry friend here, or a gift for the cat lovers in your life, or enjoy some needed R&R.
Picture Purrfect
Local animal adoption groups are working hard all month to find homes for the numerous stray, newborn, and surrendered cats in the area. A few groups are looking for help photographing the cats so adoption websites and flyers can get updated with all the new listings. Perhaps you're an aspiring photographer looking for a chance to show your world your craft. Maybe you're looking for an excuse to take hundreds of cat photos to show your friends. Raise those phones, focus those lenses, because it's time to populate the internet with what they love the most.
Mission Impawsible
Escape and challenge rooms are growing in popularity and an enterprising group is using the festival to launch their newest challenge room! Situated in a small warehouse, groups of up to four people are tasked with putting their stealth, agility, and cunning to the test as they're tasked with "stealing" a rare jade cat statue from a vault. Avoid laser traps, patrolling guards, solve cunning puzzles, and grab the loot and get out in thirty minutes! There's no reward, but the fastest times are listed on the record board.
Pair up with others from the Far Shore and go in as a group! Or join a group of humans and help them through the puzzle. The organization wouldn't turn down volunteers helping out as guards inside the attraction either. Just make sure you don't actually hurt anyone; this is all pretend and for fun.
Fancy Feast
The food scene is booming at the festival as celebrity chefs and guests come to show off their newest food creations for human and cats alike. Rising chefs are battling across the duration of the festival to create gourmet food for cats, restaurants are trying to draw in customers with cat-themed food, and even a famous internet cook and his cats are making an appearance and doing cooking demonstrations. Grab a bite to eat! Join a workshop and learn some new recipes! Try your hand at the many cooking contests going on! Don't forget to buy some food to take home!

During the festivities, vendors begin grumbling about small items disappearing from their shelves and stands. They're always small, cat-themed items, never anything of high financial value, but the thefts are an annoyance and adding up fast! Is this the work of a pickpocket? Ayakashi latching on to people and encouraging the behavior? A sneaky stray snatching trinkets? Get to the bottom of things!

A giant claw machine game shaped like a giant litter box is drawing a lot of attention this year. Pay a small fee, navigate the giant scoop and and see what you pull up! Best thing is you can keep playing until you win a prize! All the prizes are cat-themed in some way; cat plushies, cat toys, cat-themed accessories, the choice is yours. Try your hand and see what wonders you can uncover.

A mochi stand is running a buy-two-get-one-free special on cat-shaped mochi in a variety of flavors and designs. The problem is with how popular the promotion is, the sweets are going fast! Almost too fast in fact! If you want to buy some, you better get in line fast and hope they don't sell out completely! Or perhaps put your mochi pounding skills to the test and help keep production going!

A pottery studio and art school are teaming up to offer visitors a chance to make and decorate cat-themed accessories or ceramic figures. Care to paint a statue in honor of your beloved furry friend? Or perhaps a new water dish? Or maybe you want to try something more hands on learn how to make a bowl from scratch. Whatever you wish to do, there are plenty of teachers and volunteers on site ready to assist in your perfect creation.

"Do you want to try and steal a cat statue with me?" Romeo did not know what a challenge room was until just a few minutes ago when he had learned all about them by the poster that was advertising it! But it looked like a really fun activity and a good way to practice teamwork! Perhaps they should have games like that in training days!
"It's just pretend so you don't got to worry about going to jail!" Just in case anyone was worried. Romeo is practically bouncing with excitement, he needs three more people to join his team!

"So you didn't see who grabbed the cat hats, miss?" Romeo was interviewing a woman who seemed a little confused at why a small foreign boy was asking her questions about the thefts at her stall. She seemed to be more bothered checking on her merchandise and seemed to often forget Romeo was there, only to realise again as he asked more questions.
But Romeo was determined to get to the bottom of this! He would find the sneaky thief who was stealing things off these nice shop keepers!
Two for Me, Nyan for You
How exactly Romeo had managed to end up helping make mochi is anyones guess, but here he is. He has been transformed, he had found the face painting stall and has his face painted like a cat. Or at least somewhat like a cat. The man who painted it told him the look was from a musical show where people dressed up like cats and sang songs about cats who dance and get reborn. Romeo didn't really understand but he thinks the facepaint is amazing! He's never had his face painted before.
He has made mochi before though, but not this fast and for so many people!
"Hello! How much mochi would you like?"

.. until someone suddenly speaks up. She looks up from her phone, only to spot--
"A cat?!"
It takes a second or two of wide-eyed staring before she realises what she's actually looking at here now she isn't spacing out anymore.
".. Oh, Romeo, it's you. Why are you looking like that?" He sure had her fooled for a second or two.

"There's a place over there," He waves down the row of stalls, "That painted it for me! It's from a music play!"

She easily shrugs off the confusion though, especially since Romeo seems so enthusiastic about it.
"Did you ask to look like a cat?"
She didn't know he liked them! But maybe they just picked something for him, who knows.

The fact that Minako likes cats more than kids definitely helps with that one though. But as far as kids go Romeo was already pretty alright in her book anyway.

She's not too sure about that, hence why her usual enthusiasm is kind of lacking from her answer.
"No, no! If everyone would look like a cat here, then you wouldn't be unique anymore, right? You've got to protect your cute cat identity, Romeo!" (And honestly, she'd probably look kind of ridiculous like that and she really doesn't want to go around looking ridiculous.)

A flurry of activity and then Romeo is handing over a small box of red-bean mochi. He has gotten the hang of this and is very fast at working now!
"I hope they taste really yummy, miss!"

Anywhere with food is going to attract Da Qing. He's not all that interested in cooking but he sure is interesting in eating and a workshop seems to be a good way to get close to the food!
For all that it's a cat festival they won't let a cat sign up so Da Qing is in human form as he stands learning how to make kitty bread.
It's actually quite fun, he's covered in flour and this bread is going to be delicious once he finds some fish to go with it.
Purloined Possessions
Da Qing has heard about these crimes against cat lovers! He is determined to get to the bottom of this and so one evening after the crowds are beginning to go a large black cat can be seen making his way to the low roof of a nearby building. He will watch over these stores and make sure that the thief is caught red-pawed!
Staking out is a little boring though, he will try his best not to fall asleep.
The Great Cat Rescue
Da Qing had been all for helping poor abandoned cats find homes, he had even volunteered to help round some of them up in order to make sure they got fed and even had the chance of being adopted by humans, who by the look of this festival understood how cats were the greatest creatures.
However. Then he had turned up to the volunteer group to learn that one of the main aims of this festival was to caputure street cats and spay or neuter them...
Monsters. Da Qing had walked out of their as fast as he could, transformed and began a one cat mission to save the cats of Naramachi!
You might notice the groups of cats sneaking through the city or overhear volunteers complaining about the fact they had found some kittens but for some reason it was like an invisible wall stopped them from reaching them...
Da Qing's plan? Well so far he has them all in an empty building, he needs to find a way to get them to Shen Wei's shrine and up to the heavens.
"Miaow, miaow miaow! This would be so much easier if I could speak cat." A black cat grumbles as he tries to convince three scrawny kittens to follow him out of the danger zone.

Thus speaks a judgmental voice from a windowsill just past Da Qing’s barricade. A tail thwaps said barricade, unimpressed, and a young lady feline of exquisite purrfection squints down at Da Qing. There are other cats here. But not food.

Da Qing did a quick headcount, it's going to be task to get them all to the heavens, he needed to find someone with a shrine in this city. Or find Shen Wei and get him to teleport the cats...

"Wait here. Safe here. I'm going to get some food for you. Stay hidden."
It was safest for him, he was unnoticeable for the most part and even if he was spotted he could easily transform into human form to evade capture.

Da Qing meanwhile has used both his ability to shift forms and the fact Shen Wei had given him some money for the festival to gather food. There were plenty of places claiming to have the best cat food in Naramachi but none of them knew cats. Da Qing went straight to the fresh fish and soon he was back at the hiding place. He transformed back and nudged the fish through with his nose.
"Here, food!"

Only for the one on her back to start mewling pathetically. Rosalie stops, torn between being a Celebrity and the presence of starving kittens.
So she meows at Da Qing, as if unsatisfied. Why is there only—
WAIT, WHEN HAD ALL THE KITTENS ENDED UP ATOP THE FISH?!

He nudges some of the kittens out of the way and kicks some of the fish over. "Eat quick, these kittens are hungry."
So hungry that Da Qing is even not eating himself, to allow them more. That is how much these kittens break his heart.

The kittens are also thrilled, squirming around the fish without a care in the world (for now). This is, quite possibly, the best thing they have ever tasted. They will follow Da Qing anywhere.

When he hears Da Qing's voice, he looks up, already closing his book and a pleasant smile on his face that changes slightly as he saw the rest of the crowd. That was a lot of cats.

They would be safe up in the temple, Da Qing was sure of it. The only danger there came from snakes and turtles and they knew who was the king.

In fact, Minako seems rather taken with the cats, having full on one-sided conversations with them - like right now, when she's busy trying to take a whole photoshoot's worth of pictures of a particularly fluffy white cat. ]
Oh, you're practically made to be a model! [ A flash from her phone. ] Maybe we should try some accessoires? Some cool sunglasses?
[ How she's going to find those in cat sizes is apparently not even a concern to her.
After a moment of staring at the creature, Minako lets out a small sigh though. ] Must be nice, huh.. Being a cat. You don't have to worry about anything..
[ Please save her from turning into a crazy lonely old cat lady on the spot here. ]

Wendy isn't actually any sort of photographer. Sure, she's gladly adopted to the much more advanced technology than her brain initially thought the world should have, but that doesn't mean she's good at it all. But you know what she is good at?

"Aaah! Look those cute cat shaped rice balls!"
Wendy is a lot of things. Sometimes, she can even be downright insufferable or, at her worst, a bloody hellion. But right now, she could be a normal little girl, bouncing around the different stalls and storefronts that are all displaying their cutest and most clever cat designs. There are practically hearts in her eyes. "How could anyone eat donuts like that? They must have taken so much work!"

With how much money Hibiki rakes in now that she's a proper God of Fortune, Wendy could probably just... buy literally anything from this claw machine game, or at least find a pretty good approximation. However, here she is, looking quite determined as she patiently tries to fish through the fake "litter". Whenever the claw comes up empty, she clicks her tongue... But the occasions where she does get a prize, her mood hardly seems to improve.
"No, that's not it.. Ugh." Scowling, she doesn't even look around her as she fetches her prize from the tray and shoves it at whoever is closer. It doesn't matter if they were just passing by.

To his surprise, when he goes to help with a small photography group, Garry finds out that he's... not that half bad at it. It takes him a second to get used to the model and all, but that's basically it. Somehow, learning that much seems to put him in quite the happy mood.
No amount of happiness or expertise can help with cats, however, and soon enough he's asking for help himself.
"Hey, do you think you could help me distract these cats, so that they don't go running off...? I can't exactly tell them to sit still for the camera." A soft chuckle rolls out of him.
B - Purrloined Possessions
Honestly, some things can never go right on days like this. Garry can understand it to some degree. The busier things are, with more people involved, and the more chances there are for things to go wrong. So when he hears some people complaining about losing things, well... He figures the least he can do is keep an eye out and put anything he finds at the lost and found. If there's an ayakashi, he's sure someone can do something about it.
What he finds isn't an ayakashi, however. It's also not some punk pickpocketing oblivious festival goers. Instead...
Anyone wandering around the festival, whether on the look out or just having a good time, might find one half of Garry's body sticking out from underneath a curtained booth. His voice can be heard coming from behind the curtains, although a little muffled. "Come on now.. It's okay, just... come here... Ugh I should have got a collar..."
C - Two for Me, Nyan for You
"Eeeeeeee-"
What is that sound? Is that a low flying aircraft? Someone's cell phone ringer getting busted? A cash register being used inappropriately?
"Eeeeeeeeeee!"
No, that would just happen to be Garry, his loose hoodie tied around his waist while he frantically pounds down some mochi. He's doing an actually fairly admirable job, all considered. Perhaps because of his regular work out routine in running and handling a staff, he's managing to not get too exhausted right off the back.
Now if only he could... stop... quietly screaming... Hopefully everyone's cat mochi is worth i.
D - Buried Treasure
After trying to bargain with cats, pound mochi, and all sorts of other things, Garry would just like to enjoy the rest of the festival in peace. So he's been trying his hand at the claw machine. It's why he's got a couple of cat keychains dangling from his belt, a cat headband on his head, and a surprisingly large and adorable plushie tucked under one arm. He still looks a little disappointed, however, as he glances over at the machine.
Anyone approaching will get a smile. "Oh, are you going to give it a try yourself?"

While Mandragora is a grumpy furball, it doesn't make his owner the same. Aymeric in fact loves cats and while he already has plenty of animals at his temple, the idea of helping others finding cats a forever home is something he can get behind. It's small in the grand scheme of things but for people, it's a nice change of pace. So why not volunteer for anything that needs help? And that's why he is near the photoshoot of several different felines but not taking photos but rather using toys and props to keep the attention of the cats a bit more focused for the experts to take the photos.
However, some of the cats are wanting attention from him and zoom over and headbutt him for pettings.
"Haha, it seems you would rather enjoy skritches than the laser pointer."
Mission Impawsible
"Oh, this is one of those escape rooms, is it not?" Aymeric sounds amused at the thought, remembering the date he had with Leo months ago involving an escape room. "This seems to be a bit of a challenge though." He ponders but it doesn't take more than two seconds to be sure of his choice.
"Would you mind accompanying me?"
Unchained Mewlody
Aymeric is no crafter and he is alright with that lot in life. But he is alright with learning a new skill; it's always good to step out of that comfort zone after all but after looking at the pottery wheel, he decided to take small steps instead. Look, he knows he is very out of his element and he cannot just slap a piece of clay and twirl it on a wheel. So he starts by painting a statue and a bowl. The statue...well, if anyone has ever met Mandragora, they would get the idea of why the elezen is starting to paint a grumpy face.
"I wonder if he will be alright with this..."
