Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

Not somethin' like this! I'm more familiar with the round 'em up and beat 'em style, myself, not keepin' 'em.

[ Aaaah, now she understands. She thinks. ] Well, these little guys are too cute to vanquish! [ DUH.

But they did just tear up all the walls and floor and everything in their wake. ] Dontcha think?

Not when they came down the hall in a big ball o' disaster.

Awww, but-- [ Well he does have a point. ] They're not a big ball of disaster anymore! [ Points to them. ] What do you think of them, as they are now?

[ SHE WANTS HIM TO SAY THAT THEY ARE CUTE. ]

SHE UNDERSTANDS THAT HE SECRETLY LIKES THEM. ]

[ She's just going to pluck one out from the barrier and hold it in her arms. Now her sleeves are covered in soot, but whatevs. LOOK HOW ADORABLE IT IS. It's looking up at him with big, red eyes. ] Uh huuuh.

Are you sure you don't want to keep one?

[ Lookit this smug little shit. She thinks she's ~figured him out~. Shaddup, let her have her moment. ]

[That thing's a goddamn demon and he doesn't want it's filthy body near his clean sleeves!!]

I do declare, should ya be pickin' it up like that? Those lil monsters just destroyed the whole dang hallway.

What....? They're just little spirits, that's all. [ S'not like they're corrupted human souls!! Right? ] These little spirits... they gather around where dust is, using it to make their homes.

These guys just got a little angry when I cleaned up their bunnyhole.

[ Holds it up to him. LOOK AT EEEEEEEIT. ] Why don't you name this little one?

[THEY'RE DAMNED anyway, Hazel thinks Very Seriously about this, before pointing at the little demon rabbit with both index fingers, Very Seriously.]

Snowdrop.

[Now get it out of his face, ew.]

[ Oooooh, she's going to keep Snowdrop-kun just for him. For when he's ready to break past his tsun-ness and accept the dereness with all the cuddles from Snowdrop!

But see, see, just look at how brightly that makes her smile. Her golden eyes shine at him, and if anyone would doubt that she is a god, perhaps all they need to do is look into them to see the stars and sparkles. Y'know. Shoujo crap. ] Snowdrop-kun says.... [ Mimicking a cute-sy voice. Also trying to impress on his accent, too. SHE DOESN'T MEAN TO OFFEND ] "Thank ya for namin' me! What's yer name?"

[ Because Sanae wants to know his name too. ]

[Okay that's going to be in about... never!! Hope she enjoys her new pet, not unlike the way Hazel doesn't enjoy her weird impression of his accent. HE'S SENSITIVE...]

Now, now, ya don't have to poke fun... Ya sure know how to pick at a fella, huh?

[She's lucky she can do cool holy tricks and looks genuinely happy about this stupid demon dust rabbit. Let him live.]

[ Okay, okay, she relents. And lowers the dust bunny, placing it back into the cage. It bounces back to wherever its family is in that mess of a cage. Chances are that she doesn't know which one is which. Which means she must keep all of them to ensure the correct one is returned to him. ] Hehe~ [ At length, she giggles pleasantly because she really doesn't mean any harm by it, and she turns to face him once again. ] Hazel. It's very nice to meet you.

[ Have a bow. ] ...If I may ask, are you a god or a shinki?

[Well, that's better than mimicking his accent even further... He hopes those bunnies stay in that cage forever, truly. That would be for the best.

There's a pause- she bows, he touches his hat with a slight nod in return- and ah. What a question.]

I'm just a man, I'm afraid. But for the sake of someone's odd pleasure, I'm meant to be playin' the part of some gentleman called Aengus.

[Which is easily the most roundabout way he can come up with to say he's a god, but obviously the idea sits more than a little poorly with him. He's just a man. None of this has anything to do with the God he's supposed to be putting his faith in.

But hey, a question is just a question, right? Damn. He perks up again, brief unreadable expression sliding right back into polite interest.]

Now, what do I call ya?

[ Ah.... she does pick up on that, fortunately, and she doesn't pry. ] My name is Sanae, and... [ And here she hesitates, because more often than not in her world, she's forgotten that she was a god. She's always been treated just as herself. ] I actually came in as myself, from my own world.

[ A way of saying that she was a god in her own world and is one in the same right now. ] ...Although, this is a bit new for me. I'm used to just posing as a priestess.

[ Another short bow. ] It's nice to meet you, Aeg--... Hazel. I hope we can be friends. [ This, after all the commotion she brought. ] If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. And don't worry-- I'll clean up this mess for you, okay? [ SHE MAY BEHAVE LIKE A KID AT TIMES but really she can be mature. And actually helpful. ]

[Dang, a real live goddess, and here he is being uncomfortable about the whole situation— that makes him blink, surprised, and look at her like he didn't really notice anything besides her boisterous carrying on before. He sort of didn't, but look - this is a good step. For sure.]

You've been posin' as a priestess, and now I'm posin' as a god? Ain't we a pair.

[See, it's funny, he's not uncomfortable at all!!]

[ Well she wouldn't have lied to someone if they asked if she was a god!! It just was never brought up aside for maybe one conversation or two. By anther god, not a human. Most humans can't tell, apparently, and that suited her just fine.

But her thoughts digress, and she laughs. ] I suppose so! This world is very mysterious... I don't agree with everything about it, [ A small frown, and she wonders if her thoughts could be heard by the higher powers-that-be. Oh well. ] But-- the people here should be protected, too. [ A nod. And have some more obligatory shoujo shit on her part: ] So, let's work hard together to do good, okay?

[churchbelle]

[Mysterious... sure, that's one way to say "comedic mockery." It's strange in a way that gets under his skin already, but all he can do is shrug a little in agreement. Or something like it.

But protecting the people— alright, she's got his full attention back again. Better that than the rest of this as his focus. The people...]

You're more sunny side up than a country breakfast, aren't ya? That ain't a complaint, just makin' an observation.

[miraculo]

[ WELL GEE that makes her smile brightly. Compliments make her happy. They also make her do whatever it is that the compliment-giver wants, because she's a simpllleeeee ♪ kinda (wo)man ♫.

Where's that damn broom? She'll get right to work and not bother him anymore! ] W-well...! I do try my best. [ Sometimes her best is not enough. Sometimes her best makes lots of mess, like what happened here and now. ] The world has enough frowns, I think. [ She adds thoughtfully. Yeah, she's a ditz. But she's aware of pain and sorrow and hardship. ] ...I wouldn't want to burden it with one more if there's something I can do to help it.

[Ah. She's a goddess, he's already reminding himself, since there's something about her that's much more down to earth than he expected out of, well. Actual gods. Gods don't do anything, if you want to believe in a god it has to be one that comes from within— but hey, at least she's willing to do chores.

This has been a strange experience. Not exactly eye-opening... but a real live goddess (the proper kind) he'd like to speak to again isn't what he expected!]

Ya got a point. [He admits it, he does. Meanwhile...] Where do ya intend to put that cage full o' bunnies?

[gurl it can't just sit there in the middle of the room forever]

I'll... move them outside for the moment. [ Somehow. Someway. Thankfully the barrier can be expanded and retracted, so long as she keeps on feeding power to it. ] And then I'll clean, and after that...

[ Ah. ] There's probably someone who's good at building bunny fences around here, isn't there? I'll just keep them all on my temple grounds in a paddock. [ Away from the garden. Hey, she knows they're dirty! Cute but dirty! ]

[Listen to him, he's country as hell, he knows about keeping animals contained. Don't put demon dust bunnies behind a fence, that won't work!!]
