Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

Main Hall

This way.

[Flynn directs Jack Frost as they both clean out a closet they had come across. It was filled with so much clutter and the obvious dust. There were even some impressive dust bunnies that had accumulated within it.

Despite the wariness Flynn was still employing when dealing with the demon, he really was a helpful little guy.]

Dinner

[After a long day of cleaning, Flynn was inwardly glad to be able to have something readily available to eat. He and his demon wander over to where the food was spread out, taking care not to bump into the other people who were crowding right by it.

He picks out a few things to eat for himself and for Jack Frost who was too short to reach over the table. The demon waits, but that doesn't stop him from staring at the other people around them.]

Dinner

[At a nearby table, Hijikata is eating some rice and fish, drinking some sake, and generally minding his business... at least until Flynn and his demon wander along.]

[Even with the frankly bizarre day he's had, he can't help staring at Jack Frost in faint bafflement.]

...What in the Hell is that?

[Flynn pauses and turns his head towards the man who had spoken. Jack Frost stared right on back and continued to do so.]

It's a demon. But it calls itself Jack Frost.

Doesn't look like much of a demon.

[It's so small, for one thing...]

[Jack Frost takes offence to that, even going as far as to say "Looks can be dec-hee-iving, ho!"]

It is what it is.

[And at least Jack Frost hadn't been anything like an ayakashi. That would have been trouble for numerous reasons.]

[Gah, it talks? Somehow, he wasn't at all suspecting that. He shakes his head as if to shake off the surprise itself.]

I suppose. Just not what I'd have expected one to look like.

[Jack Frost most certainly did talk. And while the permanent smile on the snow fairy's face never changed at all there's a sense that it is pouting a bit.]

What do you expect demons to look like?

Bigger. More fierce.

[Covered in the blood of the innocent, maybe? He's not the sort to give much thought to legends, really.]

[Just, you know. Less... tiny. And smiley.]

Main Hall

[Madara had been watching the little demon work around, curious, he approaches it, examining it.]

What is this thing helping you?

[Flynn pauses briefly in his dusting while Jack Frost presses on with his sweeping up dust bunnies.]

A demon called Jack Frost.

[eternalfight]

A demon.

[He stares at it, then walks closer to Flynn.]

How did you summon a demon?

[choseneutrality]

I didn't. He was there when I woke up two days ago and said he would be staying with me from now on.

[eternalfight]

... Interesting.

[He stares at Jack Frost yet again, and hums.]

Do you know what his body is made out of?

[choseneutrality]

I do not.

[Flynn never thought to ask the demon.]

Why do you ask?

[eternalfight]

It looks interesting, and not like anything I have ever seen.

[Madara shrugs.]

Curiosity, mostly.

Dinner

[heiancrescent]

[Looks like someone really likes green tea pudding. From the spread to the table, Mikazuki feels like he was followed non-stop by that pair of odd unblinking eyes.]

Should I offer it some of mine? [He turns to ask Flynn.]

[choseneutrality]

[And those eyes don't leave Munechika for a second. Jack Frost keeps right on staring at Flynn's fellow shinki.]

If you are all right with it, then that is fine.

[The snow fairy perks up at the words. Evidently he is interested in trying the green tea pudding.]

[Mikazuki reaches down and passes one to Jack Frost, beckoning it to come and hopefully be able to pet it.]

What an energetic companion you have! It would be nice to have someone like this.

[Energetic was an apt enough description. Jack Frost waddles on closer and takes the pudding, even go so far as to say "Thank you, hee ho!"]

Yes. Thankfully, he hasn't caused too much mischief.

Not at all, not at all.

[He gives Jack a parting wave, and turns back to Flynn.]

Where did you find him? Surely you didn't pick him up on the streets?

No, nothing of the sort. He was there in my room when I woke up two days ago.
