007 | Clean Up Your Act

Who: Everyone!
What: Spring cleaning
When: All day April 15
Where: All around the Heavens
Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.

Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

In Summary:
  • Clean up your home
  • Help clean others' homes
  • Get the main hall clean too!
  • Hope no hidden magic jumps out
  • Seek counselling if you need it
  • Enjoy your complimentary dinner
  • Have fun~

"They don't really know about the gaming..." he trailed off, insinuating that, yes, he was called that because of strength that he lacked. He was sure some of the staff knew about his gaming. They had looked him up, after all, and in the process of researching they had to have seen his name in various online news sources.

But outside of those few people, barely anyone in the Hero's Association knew of his gaming nerdom. It was so rare for anyone to know that even just her knowing, this stranger, was a little nerve-racking. Even his heart was beating just a bit harder.

". . . King will do," he said in answer to her request, bringing the brush back out of the ink to write K I N G in rough strokes (looked kind of like edgy calligraphy, but he honestly was just being sloppy). He hadn't used his real name in practically years, it would be too weird to start using it again. (This decision wasn't also influenced by the fact his real name hasn't been given out yet in canon, no sir.)

Such conviction, to sign his name as "King". How can she protest! This man is truly formidable in character, strength, and games. Which is to say, she's totally buying into the fact that he is absolutely powerful. She is grateful for his autograph, and her bow after she receives it shows it. "I will keep this in a safe place," she says. It's going to go in a gaming room. Because she's totally going to have one now that she has-- gasp-- access to counsels and TV!

"Thank you.... And, if there's anything you need of me, just ask, okay?"

"There's no need to keep it safe..." He legitimately doesn't know what to make of this woman. She wasn't from where he was from, so had no reason to fan for him this hard already. Just because he was good at a phone game didn't mean she should admire him this much. He can't help but to stare at her; hopefully, it's not too intense.

"I probably need to know who you are, first."

"Oh--! Right, right." Have a warm smile. "...My name is Sanae Kochiya, god of miracles. I'm new here, so.... if there's anything I'm doing wrong-- just let me know, okay?"
kingengine: ((second chance))

Should he smile back? He's trying, he's trying--no, he's too nervous. "Sorry, I'm new, too. They called me Averruncus, god of averting harm." That is a god type making big promises he's sure he can't deliver. "Are you an esper, too?" he asked, pointing at her and moving his finger up and down with the bobbing of her flying. She had also brought paper and writing tools over without touching them.

"Mm-mm." She replies, shaking her head. "Back in my world, I was a miko." A pause. "And a god already."

Which is why she doesn't introduce herself by any other name. "Wind was one of the first things I had mastered. But, actually, a lot of people in my world can fly already! It's not so strange to me."
kingengine: (Give me another night)

He looked suitably impressed, considering his general stoic expressions up to this point. "So you didn't even get assigned a different god role? How . . ." a pause as he thought of a proper word, ". . . efficient. I'm not familiar with a god called Sanae, though, sorry. But that doesn't mean anything; I don't know a god called Averruncus, either."
miraculo: (lol wat)

[personal profile] miraculo 2016-08-19 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, it's fine, it's fine. I didn't know I was a god, either, until I was about five."

There are plenty of times in canon that she even forgets she's a god herself.

A small chuckle. "Honestly, I've never heard of a god of miracles before, either. Although I doubt there weren't miracles before." Maybe she was in hiding before she was born with a human body? She has no clue how that works.
kingengine: (I need a second chance)

This meeting with Sanae only gets weirder and weirder. That is, it was weird enough to be in this place to begin with, so he shouldn't be judging the weirdness of someone's personal history and being. But someone claiming to have been a god before being brought to a place to be a god was a little strange, right?

He's thinking himself into circles here.

"What exactly count as miracles?" he asked, deciding to think about that instead. "Back home it always seemed people called anything from being cured of cancer to a picture of some woman burned into toast a miracle."
miraculo: (I hope you)

[personal profile] miraculo 2016-08-19 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hmmm.... I suppose you're right. Lots of things can be taken as 'miracles'," she concedes with a breath. Honestly, it's not as if she (or canon) has a definitive answer for it, either. "But I've been classifying them into two types: the improbable and the impossible. If there's something that has a slim chance of happening on its own, but it works-- like scoring an 100% on a test that you hardly studied for-- that's improbable. Something impossible would be like... making it rain rice and fruit from the sky!" Which she can do.

"I'm not so sure if seeing a face in a toast really is a miracle, but if people believe that it is... I guess it is so!" Nodnod.

So long as she has people that believe in miracles, she's okay with that. She wouldn't exist if people didn't believe in her.

[personal profile] kingengine 2016-08-20 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Not sure I agree with that..." A face on a toast couldn't be a miracle. Unless it came with an image caption or word balloon on it or something. "But I guess if I need a miracle I'll give you a call."
miraculo: (biscuit)

[personal profile] miraculo 2016-08-20 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Sanae nods to him. That's what she likes to hear, and she appreciates it when others do want her help. Because that means they trust her enough for her help.

"I promise you won't be sorry for asking for one." He should ask for milkshakes to rain from the sky or something. But at last, Sanae turns. "...I should get back to cleaning now, though. It was nice meeting you."
kingengine: ((one more day))

[personal profile] kingengine 2016-08-20 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Milkshakes from the sky sound like that was a wish more to benefit her than him . . .

"Ah, sure. I probably should, too, soon," he said, sounding like he wasn't too eager to and might linger a little longer. See if he can beat that score from before. "Good to meet you, too," he nodded at her like a very informal bow.
