007 | Clean Up Your Act

Who: Everyone!
What: Spring cleaning
When: All day April 15
Where: All around the Heavens
Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.

Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

[Yelling, why the yelling. It slides off him pretty well, but damn if it didn't blindside him a bit. He can't remember anyone being this excited to see him in...well, scratch that, he can't remember enough to remember anyone being excited to see him at all.

The dull, vague sense of inward-aimed loathing that seems to permeate his whole being makes him wonder if that would be any different, if he did have his memories back. Not that he's going to ruin her upbeat attitude with that, and instead, he gives a less formal mirror of the two-finger salute back.]

Seems like we're pretty much on the same page, then, just two cool vaguely defined heavenly beings with the deepest purpose you ever laid eyes on.

[The fact that gods aren't dead seems like news to him, though, and he withdraws his arm to pick at the hole in his shirt.]

So gods don't have to come here through the coffin express? Sounds lucky, though I gotta admit I have not a single fucking clue what might've killed me if this is just some kind of flesh wound to me.

[As if to demonstrate, he opens the fabric to show the wound - it's long and neat, obviously made by a blade - and then parts the edges of the wound very slightly. It's healed and clean all the way through, but that's the thing. The wound quite clearly goes all the way through his abdomen, to the point the table can just be seen out the other side if one squints hard enough.]

It feels kinda empty, I'm wondering if I lost something on the way in that was supposed to be in it.

That is weird...but it's sort of a cool mark too! [Hajime is knelt down in front of him by that point. She's looking at the wound too with curiosity, maybe even poking at it a little too. She's never seen anything like it either. But it's probably best not to think too much about it. Shinki aren't suppose to really think about how they die. It can be bad for both of them. Hajime doesn't really get why but Bishamon was really concerned about Yuuki remembering anything. Talking about how Davesprite could have died gives her a eerie sense.]

But you seem fine to me!

[She pops back up, clapping her hands together.]

At least you didn't lose your sunglasses, right?

[He doesn't seem to feel the poking at it much, or at least not to the degree that would be expected of something like that. The numbness, to him, is probably a little more pronounced than it would be with scar tissue. Still, he doesn't feel like thinking too hard about it is that great an idea.]

Yeah, at least I can freak people out with it, though it'd be a shame to waste apple juice on something that isn't more awesome and deserving of it than fake blood. [It'd be kind of the wrong consistency, too, but he bleeds the wrong colour for ketchup.

Adjusting his shades a little as they're mentioned, he gives a non-committal hand movement.]

It's a little more complicated than that, looks like the whole memory nuke thing wiped all the files on them. Nothing stopping me from filling it up with more junk and shenanigans now that I'm here, though.

[Given it's basically a phone in sunglasses, he probably should've expected anything in the memory wouldn't come through intact.]

Right! You're right!

[She claps her hands together, standing straighter now. Hajime wouldn't exactly call him upbeat but its amazing that he doesn't want to dwell on his memory more so. That he wants to move on and make more new memories to fill the empty space. That's great! She'll make lots of memories with him, especially since they're a team now! She's gotta make sure Davesprite has fun!]

Hey, Hey! Whenever you get tired of being here Do you want to see the temple? I can show you were we'll live and everything!

[The fact that he isn't what you'd call upbeat is partially why he doesn't want to dwell on his memory. Even without it, he can feel a pervasive malaise, something he assumes has been there since before he came here, and if just his existence is enough to make him feel that, he's not sure he wants to know what came before.

Maybe sometime, but not now. For the moment, he'll just ride along with Hajime's infectious enthusiasm, and at the suggestion of checking out the temple, he seems to perk up a bit.]

Hey, if it's anything like the weirdness I've been dealing with all through this spring cleaning fiasco, I'm up for it. Gotta get used to the new digs while I have the chance.

Let's go then! You bring the apple juice too of course!

[She giggles, extending her hand out to him. They could walk, or fly but teleporting is the fastest way there so that is sort of Hajime's go to option. She'll ask for rides when Davesprite is a little more settled in. But that has to happen one day!]

Bringing the apple juice goes without saying, dude, it's gonna be the best thing that ever entered your temple.

[But enough about how incredible apple juice is (for now). Though he's not entirely sure where this is going, he takes the cue and her hand along with it, his grip again careful so he doesn't mark her with his talons. It's a kind of practiced restraint, like he's very familiar with having to consider it by now.]

I don't think apple juice would be the best thing to enter. But having you with the apple juice is perfect!

[Hajime holds onto his hand tightly. Not enough to hurt, but its firm, just to be safe. Her eyes meet his shades, reflecting the smile on her face. She's excited! Hopefully he'll get along with the girls too!]

Hold on~! It's always super weird the first time!

[That's all the warning she gives before she teleports. Good bye dinner and hello home sweet, home! They appear just a few feet from the enterance. It's better for him to see the outside of where he lives too, just in case]

And we're here! Zetta fast!

[It's probably good that the teleportation comes so soon after that statement, because it might mean she misses the way Davesprite's expression changes subtly at the compliment. Even with the shades covering the way his eye contact slips, there's something more closed about it.

There's nothing he can think of right now more frustrating than being so uncomfortable with a simple compliment and having no real idea why.

In response to her warning, he tightens his grip very slightly in the second before she teleports, and though it's still really weird, it's perhaps less weird than he was expecting.

Weird in a familiar way? He shakes the thought away under the guise of getting his bearings.]

Sure as shit beats anything I remember being a thing. Which isn't real specific with the whole amnesia deal, but public transport is so transcendently shitty I don't think even a full wipe could take the trauma away.

[Hajime just giggles, still holding onto his hand she gently tugs him along.]

Well you don't have to worry about that then! Welcome to home away from home! This is as much my place as it is yours, so feel free to do anything. Rise-chan and Yuuki are also here in one of the rooms. You'll probably see them around, super soon!

[She gestures to the temple with her free hand before opening the door and tugging him in. The epytian theme is a common thing that continues throughtout the temple but there is clearly changes. Hajime has been going over and decorating everything as she likes. New paint, colorful and comfortable. Its slowly becoming less of a temple and more of a home]

Ta-da~!

[He just lets it happen at this point, because he's not offended enough about physical contact to get too picky over it if it's just a little weird to him. Especially since he doesn't really have a valid reason as to why it should be, other than a whole host of personal issues lacking memories or related reasoning that seem to be waiting for him to pick through them once he gets a moment to himself.

It's pretty easy to tell that she's been redecorating things herself, and looking around at the place, he gives an approving nod. It's...nice, in a way that's so much more unfamiliar and blindsiding to him than almost anything else about this place has been so far.]

Didn't tell me the bit where you were the god of interior decorating, this is a pretty damn sharp job you're doing with the whole ancient Egyptian template to work with.

[He's not entirely sure how he knows the mythology on sight, but he's learning pretty quickly that trying to linger on things like that is just going to make him feel unsettled and ill.]

Hope your roommates don't mind more roommates, but I'm guessing exponential roommates aren't a real uncommonality here if gods housing shinki is a thing.

No way, you're welcomed here! Rise-chan and Yuuki won't mind, I know it~! Besides, we gotta find you a room too! I bet you can do amazing interior decorating too! If you need any help with that, just ask! We are a team now, Davesprite, you know?

[She beams sweetly at him, though her eyes do drift to his wings after a moment. He looks really cute with those shades and giant wings, okay?]

I mean, if you're cool with sacrificing a room to the neon orange empire then I'm not going to question it, but I'm pretty sure I'm basically the polar opposite of an interior decorator. Call me when you want your rooms or someone else's messed up beyond all hope of salvation, because that I can do like a goddamn professional.

[It's kind of an exaggeration, but he just generally doesn't feel like he has the energy to do anything mind-blowingly interesting with his room. Unless strewn feathers, some turntables, and probably something closer to a nest than a bed would count.

Making a bit of a show of giving the place a once-over, Davesprite already knows what his answer is there. There's something about the energy in the design that settles him even though it's unfamiliar, and he might even call it endearing, though he's not entirely sure why.]

Birds aren't really the authority on temple quality when it comes to anything other than perch time, but from where I'm standing, it's nicer rooming than I can ever remember seeing. Not that it's a hard list to break first on right now, but hey, it's the best temple I've been in today. [Also not a hard list to break first on, but he tried.]

Welll this is your home now! So make it just that! Make yourself at home!

[She gives him a gentle push forward, beaming from ear to ear. She's so excited for this. Excited for Davesprite. For him to meet the others and get settled. She already knows they'll make a great team together! She just knows it!]

There are a lot of other shrines and temples too! Would you like to go for a tour sometime?

[Despite how much his instincts scream to resist the push and keep himself balanced, he manages to compromise and go with the motion so it doesn't mess with him. He's pretty sure he's going to need some time to get his head together as soon as he gets a moment alone here, though it's not going to be for anything but picking out what he does know and where things start making him feel unsettled and ill trying to think about.

Though he can't quite get behind being excited for himself, it's hard not to pick up some of Hajime's enthusiasm, and he gives her a faint half-smile.]

Sure, if guided tours are a thing you guys do here. Might as well get my shit together under someone who's already got theirs so together it might as well be hard rock.

Great! How about tomorrow then? I mean, you just got here sooo you can relax for now if you want! There's a few rooms here, so pick anyone that you like that isn't taken by Rise-chan or Yuuki! I'll introduce them to you too!

[She's bouncing on her toes. She is excited for Davesprite to be here. That can't be said enough! She may have her fingers crossed that everything goes smooth for him too. The faint half-smile she spots just makes her beam.]</small

[Well, if he's living with them, he might as well try to make a good first impression, and that'll probably be helped if he's had some time to figure himself out first. The offer to rest seems like an easy enough out without having to explain exactly why he's feeling the need to do it so badly.

Still, he gives a faux defensive raise of the hands, glancing towards where he's going to guess the bedrooms are.]

Hey, point out which ones are taken and I won't touch them. Gotta make a better first impression than stumbling through some poor girl's door like the designated comic relief guy.
