Who: Jae-Ha (
razzledazzles) & Hazel (
churchbelle)
What: Two nerds go shopping / Also using this now for sad angst
When: April 17th / April 20th
Where: Out on the town... or something
Warnings: Don't look at them they're stupid
[They've been in this clothing store for ten minutes now, and Jae-Ha is already wondering what he's supposed to do with his own taste in fashion. He can't seem to find any of the long robes he likes, and the pants he's run across are too tight for his liking. He's not even looking at shoes, for some reason, and eventually, he slides over to pinch at the material of a strange looking coat with a collar that's too big.]
I don't think I've seen a single thing I can see myself in. Have you?

Is that so? [He figures it's enough of an answer for Hazel to avoid answering him. It's a hassle, of course it is. Even asking about it is a hassle, in a way... This is awkward in a way he doesn't want to address, and he just hopes it doesn't cause any tension in what had been one of his few comfortable relationships here.
He realizes he's been lingering behind for a longer moment than he should and follows after Hazel. Mostly because he doesn't know where else to go in this large temple.]
no subject
Why don't we have a song? Y'feel up to it?
no subject
[Hopefully Hazel is ready for full feelings into the music Jae-Ha plays. He slides into a seat at the piano, running his finger across the front of it before the keys like he's idly checking for dust.
And then he just looks to Hazel, expectantly waiting for him to sit beside him.]
Ready for one, then?
no subject
Hazel is possibly ready for full feelings music, but he takes a seat next to him and leans his elbow on the edge of the piano the same way he did the first time as casually as possible. This is casual. He doesn't have a lot to think about and he certainly doesn't need to keep Jae-Ha busy with something besides looking at him and waiting for him to get to the point.
Definitely not.]
Go on.
no subject
But right, definitely not. Jae-Ha glances at the keys to the piano, playing a few drawn out notes and cords testingly before he plays a song. It's about as depressing as you'd expect, and now Hazel can enjoy the god and shinki link even if he doesn't feel for the music on its own. It's clear Jae-Ha has a lot of sad things on his mind, but that's what music is for, he supposes!
He might even play a couple of songs, if Hazel doesn't stop him.]
no subject
But like the last time, he'll sit here and watch, and listen, and take in Jae-Ha's music with these multiple new perspectives he has on the man. It bothers him that there are things he can't say - things he thinks Jae-Ha has a right to know, if he's going to know anything, but some force he can't set aside makes him stop.
Well, maybe he can be vague.]
When ya knocked me over in the hall, I saw a... a vision, of sorts. I saw ya get hurt.
no subject
Hurt? [A vision... That explains his expression. He only remembers it when looking back, since he'd been too lost in the moment itself. Now he recalls it all too clearly, even in the dark. His stomach sinks with dread as he tries to piece together what that could mean.]
Wait. [His death, what else could it be, right?] You shouldn't say too much.
no subject
I'm not sayin' any more. Just figured ya deserved to know the problem, that's all.
no subject
I wonder if it's the unfortunate result of spending too much time together? [He doesn't know how this works, but he feels responsible, somehow.] I'm sorry that you had to see that.
[And he's sorry that he wants to know what happened, too. This is horrible.]
no subject
[He's certain it has to have something to do with how they're connected now, but he can't say for sure because he... didn't ask! That's going real well for him now.
But anyway, while it must bother Jae-Ha to know but not know, he still thinks telling him even that little bit is the right thing to do. Maybe he's thinking selfishly, but still.]
It's alright. I've carried a life before. [You know, since he raises the dead, for example.] Just this lil bit's a drop in the bucket, ain't it? Could be worse.
no subject
I suppose I should thank you, then, as well. [He focuses only on the piano keys because it's a convenient excuse for him to not look at Hazel right now.] If it were a stranger or someone else, I wouldn't be okay with this at all.
no subject
Hazel is still watching Jae-Ha, even if he's going to avoid looking back.]
That's real touchin'. [It genuinely is, but he says it like a joke. Of course he does. The mood feels marginally better, though, so after falling silent for a while, he feels it's situationally appropriate to press a piano key or two. He's making this song... better.....]
no subject
Feeling adventurous? [He's too nice about music to say that those sound horrible. Go ahead, press random keys.]
I'm sure my music has moved your heart and soul, so you only want to reach out and join in.
no subject
I think it's buildin' character, thanks to yours truly.
no subject
There's plenty of character now, there's no denying that. But now I've gone and lost my place. [He can't keep up with the original song like this...]
no subject
Find a new one before ya fall behind, then. Are ya gonna make me do all the work?
no subject
[His kindness... and his ability to make up music on the spot, apparently. There's some very slow fumbling before he makes Hazel's hideous melody into something more like an actual song. How's that for doing all the work!!
This does wonders for his aching heart, somehow. This temple isn't such a strange place to him, even after such a short time. His few visits have been meaningful. And Hazel, this weight against his shoulder, is nice to hear a chuckle from instead of those bothered words from earlier.]
Well? Are you impressed?
no subject
This is the ugliest song that's come out of his piano to date, and yet he's charmed by it. How ridiculous.]
Is this the part where I crack a joke about ya bein' quick on your feet? I'm impressed.
no subject
I'm glad you could get a kick out of it. [Get it, since he brought up jokes—] If you think about it, you're being spoiled further! You'll be able to listen to my songs whenever you'd like.
no subject
Not quite, seein' as how this is the best one. It's an original, and I'm not gonna remember a single bit of it by tomorrow. Best enjoy it while it lasts.
no subject
[Hazel can smack the piano whenever he wants, it'll be a fun time. For now, he'll play, maybe occasionally purposefully fighting over keys with Hazel's hands.]
By the way, that bedroom where I woke up... is that the best one to use? You have so many rooms.
no subject
There's plenty of rooms- pick whichever one ya want.
no subject
[He is joking........ he is joking. Also, determined to win, so Hazel can prepare for this dramatic scale down the piano as Jae-Ha claims these keys from him and leans back, thanks.]
no subject
...Also.] Maybe the next one, if ya promise not to bounce off the walls all night long.
no subject
I'm not that young and energetic.
