002 | Tokyo In Trouble

Who: Everyone!
What: Surprise! There's a disaster on the Near Shore.
When: Late at night (February 24, 2016) into mid-afternoon (February 25, 2016)
Where: The Meeting Hall of the Heavens AND various places around Tokyo
Summary: A nice little greeting for the new guests and an unpleasant surprise for the older ones~

A sudden, loud blast of noise persists throughout the entirety of the Heavens. It sounds much like a war horn of ancient times being played at a decibel that is meant to shake the very core of every being within its range. No matter how much you might try to block out the noise, it remains ringing in your ears deafeningly, and somehow you find yourself compelled towards the Meeting Hall - the place where you were first introduced to the Heavens and what you have gotten wrapped up in.

Anyone checking their phones will notice a large, bright red alert flashing at them - 'EMERGENCY! REPORT IMMEDIATELY!' It seems that the Heavens have taken to using modern technology for their messages as well.

Once you have reached the Meeting Hall, you will find that every wall has turned into a sort of television screen, displaying various streets and buildings in Tokyo, everyone one literally crawling with ayakashi both big and small. A voice that you recognize as Amaterasu's - though you would never be able to describe it properly - rings throughout the halls.

"We need your help, brave gods, loyal shinki. A rift the likes of which we have never dealt with has opened on the Near Shore. We must end the ayakashi who are harming our dear followers. Please come to our aid in this time of need."

Meeting Hall

The once garishly decorated Meeting Hall looks very much like the base of operations for an army at war. There are gods gearing up with shinki and man-made gear as well and plenty of gods and shinki saying prayers before they head out to battle. Everything you might need to make yourself feel safe during a fight has been provided, including every type of weaponry. But, of course, only shinki wielded by a god can actually destroy an ayakashi.

Counselling

In the main hallway, there is an innocuous door with a small, nicely written sign that reads "Gentle Counselling". Inside the door is a small room with a few sweetly smiling shinki inside who are willing to listen to your problems and answer any questions you might have. They are also here to help out any gods that are having a hard time dealing with knowing about how their shinki died and any shinki that is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that they are dead.

February 24

The rift that has opened is so vast that there is literally nowhere in Tokyo that you can go without encountering a rampaging group of ayakashi. Everything is utter chaos and there are creatures everywhere for you to fight. Let's just hope that you can get out of this dangerous battlefront mostly unscathed.

February 25

Towards the middle of the day, it will seem that the ayakashi are becoming fewer and further between. Things seem to be calming down a lot, though they are nowhere near normal yet, especially since the rift is taking longer to close than the Heavens would like. Fortunately, no new ayakashi have escaped into the Near Shore from the rift since this morning, due to a barrier that has been placed around it. Still, the ayakashi seem to be really hell-bent on getting away from you all now rather than fighting...

In Summary:
  • There are a ton of ayakashi on the Near Shore that need to be destroyed.
  • The newbies are getting one hell of a welcome as a result.
  • Seek counselling if you need it!
  • Go kick some evil ass.
  • Comment to the first thread to get a randomly generated number of ayakashi to face.
  • Mods will gladly play out any ayakashi interactions where requested.
  • Try not to get killed~

On the battlefield, Shepard tries not to differentiate between lives. As far as she's concerned a life is a life and they're all worth saving until it's one that thrives on the taking of others. And in such matters she is indiscriminate in the taking herself. But somehow, when it's Bo that she finds in the midst of the ayakashi fray she feels a renewed rush to join the fight.

It felt like Omega, Horizon, Haestrom all over again. There weren't many that Shepard could consider ally in this strange new world and after only a few choice meetings, it was a lofty position in which to place Bo. But they could be. If Bo was as genuine as her words lead to believe, they could have a really good thing going and that's enough to push her a little harder, a little faster until she's back to back with the other woman, pushing back the ayakashi pressing in from the other side.

"They do until whatever hole they fell out of closes up again." In truth, that's where she would have liked to be. Taking care of business. But after only a week and some changed she wasn't really equipped to deal with the real problems at work. In time, she thinks. For now, they had to focus on getting through this mess, one fight at a time.

Shepard eyes Bo over her shoulder to confirm what she thought she saw before. Though she slashes and strikes with more than enough finesse to take down their enemies, the cuts only glance off them and hold them at bay without any deterrence. What she was holding in her hands, was just an ordinary sword.

"Where's your shinki!?"

Bo only differentiates enough to determine who the so-called 'evil ones' are. The ones who enjoy hurting and killing others. Or are mindless drones of a greater evil. But as far as everyone else, Bo would give everything to save them from harm. She'd been through several battles, but the last one had been one she had to fight alone. Only she could stand against her father to save the world. And she hadn't even been confident that she could control her dark side enough to fight him.

And now she was a goddess, war being one of her areas she covered. Bo needed to live up to that. The sex, love and death parts she had down perfectly.

"Hopefully they can shut that fucking hole soon." This was bad enough as it is, but if too many more ayakashi came out of it, who knew what would happen. Though Bo wasn't going to entertain a downside scenario. No, she was going to keep a positive outlook. They were gods, and as long as they had their respective shinki, they could get through this.

There was a sense of relief once she was back to back with Shepard. It was nice to have someone fighting at her back. It also helped give her a boost of energy that she desperately needed. She was trying to hide the fact she was getting tired, that she couldn't keep fighting like this forever. Damn her succubus nature and needing to feed to remain strong. This was one time where she definitely minded having such a pitfall.

"She's still close. She just moves faster than I can keep up with at the moment." Bo would invoke her name if she felt she needed Yuuki's vessel form before they crossed paths again. "Yours?" She glanced back at Shepard, not knowing what form her shinki took. Just because Yuuki's form was a sword didn't mean everyone else's took the form of a weapon.

Bo was certainly speaking her language. Shepard herself has been in for the long haul before. The knock down drag em out fights that wear away all hours of the day and into the nights. She's weather both sides of a seige. But this fight, with foreign enemies and allies alike, it wears on her in new ways and she doesn't trust herself to hold out with all the same stamina that she's used to. Not that she won't try. Never let it be said that Shepard wouldn't try right up to the bitter end. And then come back looking for more.

But the shorter, the less casualties, the better and currently that looked to include both of them. Fortunately, the commander wasn't living a life quite so on the edge. The sword, a kind of katana, makes it's appearance just as a fresh wave of ayakashi soars overhead. Thrusting the blade up she manages to slide a pair of them in half.

"Right here." She doesn't say any more than that. They could save the introductions for later. After the fight, or at least when they had a moment to breath. What she does offer Bo is a grin. She reserves a special sort of appreciation of those who live life on the edge, even more for those that live to tell about it. A fatal camaraderie of sorts.

"Well you promised danger, now lets see if I can keep up."
