Who: Everyone!
What: Surprise! There's a disaster on the Near Shore.
When: Late at night (February 24, 2016) into mid-afternoon (February 25, 2016)
Where: The Meeting Hall of the Heavens AND various places around Tokyo
Summary: A nice little greeting for the new guests and an unpleasant surprise for the older ones~
A sudden, loud blast of noise persists throughout the entirety of the Heavens. It sounds much like a war horn of ancient times being played at a decibel that is meant to shake the very core of every being within its range. No matter how much you might try to block out the noise, it remains ringing in your ears deafeningly, and somehow you find yourself compelled towards the Meeting Hall - the place where you were first introduced to the Heavens and what you have gotten wrapped up in.
Anyone checking their phones will notice a large, bright red alert flashing at them - 'EMERGENCY! REPORT IMMEDIATELY!' It seems that the Heavens have taken to using modern technology for their messages as well.
Once you have reached the Meeting Hall, you will find that every wall has turned into a sort of television screen, displaying various streets and buildings in Tokyo, everyone one literally crawling with ayakashi both big and small. A voice that you recognize as Amaterasu's - though you would never be able to describe it properly - rings throughout the halls.
"We need your help, brave gods, loyal shinki. A rift the likes of which we have never dealt with has opened on the Near Shore. We must end the ayakashi who are harming our dear followers. Please come to our aid in this time of need."
Meeting Hall
The once garishly decorated Meeting Hall looks very much like the base of operations for an army at war. There are gods gearing up with shinki and man-made gear as well and plenty of gods and shinki saying prayers before they head out to battle. Everything you might need to make yourself feel safe during a fight has been provided, including every type of weaponry. But, of course, only shinki wielded by a god can actually destroy an ayakashi.
Counselling
In the main hallway, there is an innocuous door with a small, nicely written sign that reads "Gentle Counselling". Inside the door is a small room with a few sweetly smiling shinki inside who are willing to listen to your problems and answer any questions you might have. They are also here to help out any gods that are having a hard time dealing with knowing about how their shinki died and any shinki that is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that they are dead.
February 24
The rift that has opened is so vast that there is literally nowhere in Tokyo that you can go without encountering a rampaging group of ayakashi. Everything is utter chaos and there are creatures everywhere for you to fight. Let's just hope that you can get out of this dangerous battlefront mostly unscathed.
February 25
Towards the middle of the day, it will seem that the ayakashi are becoming fewer and further between. Things seem to be calming down a lot, though they are nowhere near normal yet, especially since the rift is taking longer to close than the Heavens would like. Fortunately, no new ayakashi have escaped into the Near Shore from the rift since this morning, due to a barrier that has been placed around it. Still, the ayakashi seem to be really hell-bent on getting away from you all now rather than fighting...

I don't know if it changes anything, but they'll most likely split up pretty right away after arriving on the battle front by virtue of Vector just switching the Yus into dragon mode and then telling them to go and wreck as much chaos as possible while he tries to fight on his own.

[Tsuzuki has a knife and a gun sitting next to him, his own choices from the weaponry piled in the room, but they're not the main focus of his attention right now. What he's focusing on, instead, are hundreds of plain white paper strips that he's laid neatly out on the ground, and the ink tray he keeps dipping his brush in. He seems to be doing calligraphy.
He's also muttering under his breath and setting his brush down between strips to fold his hands together in odd, contorted gestures.
Anyone who's familiar might recognize traditional onmyojutsu magical technique. Tsuzuki's not about to trust a gun to keep himself and Hisoka safe without Suzaku and Byakko on call: he's got to stock up.
To anyone who's not familiar, this must look really weird.]
FEBRUARY 24 (Closed to Hisoka)
[Tsuzuki can feel the raging power in the air the moment that his feet hit the pavement. His face turns up towards the sky -- and the swirling, dark clouds centered around the rift itself -- and the faded sunlight catches his eyes to glint, for a moment, blood-red.]
Come on, Hisoka!
[He reaches for the sheaf of ofuda in his coat pocket, fanning them out between his fingers as he breaks into a run towards the abandoned park across the street.]
Let's make sure we're ready for these guys!

Well aren't you a hypocrite. [As she strolls up with her usual swagger, she's popping a clip into her own pistol for effect. Just in case it wasn't obvious what she was talking about. But she hardly seems bothered. Amused if anything.]

[Well. What a wonderful first day on the job.
Elsa watches the goings-on with interest, walking a slow circle around the hall. She's been given the run-down of what her new life will be like, been introduced to her shinki (who could use an attitude adjustment, but she'll work with him; she's worked with worse, after all), and been briefed on the situation along with everone else. The scenes playing on the walls are frightening but familiar, in a way -- she remembers this, the chaos of a great battle, the fear that people might die, the feeling of helplessness because there's so very little she could do.
But it's different now, because she can help. Even with a grumpy shinki at her side, she can act. She can do for others what the rangers did for her.
She's not going to head for the weapons (why waste the time, when only one weapon will work?), but she also won't be heading out right away. She hasn't met anyone yet, after all. Well, not other gods or shinki, that is.
The first person she comes across in her walk gets a polite if wry smile from her, enough to show she's being friendly but not carefree when Tokyo is in such a state.
Or so she hopes her smile appears, anyway.] This is quite the welcoming party.

She was watching one of the screens after grabbing her weapons. She was trying to figure out where to go to first. Upon figuring that out, she then looked to see where Yuuki was. She knew her shinki wasn't that far off. However, someone new caught her eye as she moved, a smile of her own crossing her face.] Oh definitely. Shit hitting the fan is always the best welcoming party, wouldn't you say?
[Yeah, she was being sarcastic. While she was more than ready to get down to business, there was always time for a little levity.]

[From what Joshua understands, ayakashi are very similar to Noise, so there isn't really any need to explain the how and why. The where is what's concerning him the most. Tokyo - which, of course, is a very large expanse of city - seems like a likely target, considering kaiju movies tend to love destroying the place. But Shibuya is part of that. And even with himself being unable to access what he's used to, there's still the urge to protect it. It's still his. He's just been bumped up and partitioned off from the UG.
Weapons won't do any good. If ayakashi are as similar to Noise as they feel, you can only defeat them under certain conditions. And it only makes sense that, since gods and shinki are being called on, it's the god/shinki combination that does it, much like partners do for Noise. Considering that, he's not sure why they're being supplied with weapons at all.
But, it doesn't stop him from stowing away a small handgun in his pocket anyway.]
[ february 24th ] [locked to Neku (and, eventually, Sho)]
[The heavy, oppressive feeling in the air doesn't make Joshua feel any more sure about this. But here they are, fresh from Takamagahara and standing smack in the middle of Dogenzaka. He may not care much about the rest of Tokyo, but if he has any say about it, he's intent on at least clearing out this district.]
Well, Neku-kun. Up for some exercise?
[Because they haven't handled any prayers yet. They haven't really even practiced. Joshua had been too intent on finding a way out of this, back to where he and Neku used to be, and he hadn't thought practice necessary. But, for now, he'll brush some hair from his face and give his shinki a confident smirk.]
I look forward to seeing what you're capable of doing. Don't let me down, now.

[Tsuzuki waves a hand in the direction of Joshua's pocket, where he's pretty sure he just saw the guy hide a gun.
Not that he has anything against guns in general. He's already borrowed one from the pile to give Hisoka for protection, just in case Hisoka knew how to use one that wasn't fake. It's just that he's not sure he should trust Joshua as far as he could throw him.]

[ She doesn't need extra armaments. She's got all the arms she needs. Except she's sent them all to make sure everyone else is getting proper protection. So right now, she's alone in the midst of the chaos and taking a rather supervisionary position. Hey, she's a god of war, after all. Gotta make sure the lesser gods can stay safe. Gotta make sure the newer gods know what to do. She's in her element. But despite that, there's a frown that's come to her brow.
So with that, she's sought out her exemplar.
There's going to be a hand on his shoulder as she approaches. It's a usual way for her to get his attention after all. ]

[ It was chaos. But then again, part of her thinks this is exactly why there were more gods called from this world. Tokyo was practically crawling with ayakashi. Normally, their numbers were more manageable but this? Madness. She'd been at this for a while now but it doesn't quite show. Clearly, she's used to this. If you've seen her early in the battle with astride her lion shinki, he isn't around now. It's just her, taking on another pack of ayakashi with a whip.
But then she pauses, as if noticing your presence. ]
Gaiki!
[ With a flash, a revolver suddenly appears in her hand. ]
Don't move.
[ Is that a gun she has pointed at you? Yup, it totally is. ]

She clutches her halberd -- Shaki, her weapon, a soul -- ready to deflect the oncoming attack. (As if she remembers how to fight. As if her body will just move the way it has to in order to make it out of this alive.) She recognizes this god from the meeting hall, but that's all Elsa can really say. It doesn't make sense to be attacked by one of her kind, but--
Actually, no, it makes perfect sense. She's read a fair amount of mythology.]
I'm on your side! If you want to fight me, that can wait.
[With any luck, that'll keep her from getting shot. The priority here should be taking out ayakashi, not other gods.]

OTA
There's chaos, there's shit hitting the fan and then there's whatever the current state of Tokyo could be called. Just because Shepard is used to things falling in the proverbial blender, doesn't mean she has to like it. Nor does she get used to it. But as much as she wants to ignore the troubles of Heaven, there are real people on the ground here, living people, and her conscience won't allow her to turn her back on them.
So here she is, running through the cramped streets of Shinjuku -- made all the more so by the scatter debris and crush of ayakashi -- with a gun in hand and an incongruous looking sword fixed to her hip. Every so often the blade flashes to cut down something in her path but she's always running, moving, pushing against the tide of people running in the opposite direction. The source of their fear is her goal. Take down the biggest guy in the room and the rest become little more than cannon fodder.
That's when she clears a haphazardly constructed barricade and runs right into a familiar sight. Someone that's not fearful, fleeing, but fighting just like her. But they're distracted by the opponent that's in front of them.
"Behind you!" She cries out well before she's within striking distance. Whether it's someone she knows, someone she doesn't or even one of the hapless newcomers, she fires off a mean volley from her rifle. The bullets ricochet off the ayakashi who remains unharmed but the force of impact pushes it back for the time being.
February 25;
As it started, so it ends, with the remaining ayakashi increasingly divided and scattered. Shepard hardly sees the point in pursuit as their numbers seem to dwindle to only slightly more than average. If there's some sort of base for the gods and their shinki to regroup, she's there, slumped against the bumper of an abandoned car. Her head is bowed with hair and dirt and grime plastered to her face and she cradles her right arm loosely in front of her -- though she appears otherwise unharmed. She's been fighting for the better part of an entire day. While that's nothing new for her, working with Yamato is still a novelty and a taxing one at that.
Slowly, she looks up again, to survey the damage and remarks with a sigh, "I don't suppose we'll be responsible for the cleanup efforts as well, or is that not our domain?" But it wouldn't really surprise her. Theirs was the realm of the supernatural and that's exactly what caused this.
February 24
When the ayakashi vanishes in a spray of light, she whirls to face whoever it was called out to her -- an ally, clearly -- and nods at her. It's a thanks and an offer to fight together against the one that had just been shot.
Now that she is divine, Elsa can perform the acrobatic feats that she'd been able to do thanks to that evil power controlling her. It's second nature -- maybe, becoming a god has tapped into those skills, letting her use them for good -- to run towards the ayakashi and leap into the air and swing Shaki down at the monster. Even if she does no damage, she has at least given this other fighter an opening.

Yuuki has long since ditched the strange outfit she came here in, now wearing a much more practical set of simpler clothes - pants, a jacket, and a nice enough t-shirt under it all.
It's just as well. Battling in the gear she had from before wouldn't be impossible, but it would be far more cumbersome.
If she'd known what to expect, she would have brought along a sword from her goddess' coffers. As it is, she spends a while darting around the hall, eventually settling on a good one-handed sword that feels balanced enough in her hand. She casts a glance around the rest of the hall as she buckles the sheathe around her waist, considering. "Is there anything else...?"
[24th - OTA, but most especially for Bo]
Yuuki is in her element.
Surrounded by ayakashi, she darts and weaves through them, sword flashing as she passes each one. She never, ever stops moving - when an attack comes her way, she ducks under, hops over, spins out of the way, but never stops. As a result, the ayakashi left in her wake are looking much worse for wear, sporting wounds and rips and no longer having the same mobility as before she began her attack.
Which is all according to plan, really.
"Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
It's an impressive kiai for someone so small, and one of the best indicators of just where she is in the throngs of ayakashi. Eventually, she separates from the group entirely, alighting on sparkling wings that look like some sort of cross between a bat's and a fairy's. Dark and jagged, but translucent and scattering uselessly aesthetic fairy dust with each flap, she rushes with much the same speed back towards her goddess.
"Think you can get 'em now?!"
[25th - OTA]
After the frantic fighting of the day before, it's actually kind of nice to relax again. She keeps her wings out today just in case she needs to start flying on short notice, but aside from scanning the area every so often for any ayakashi that need to be chased, she's fairly laid back. Passing gods or shinki would have an easy enough time catching her for a conversation today.
24th
However, she could tell that Yuuki was in her element. Good, she needed that focus right now.
Slashing at an ayakashi, she glanced over to Yuuki. "Yeah, but I need your vessel form to do it." Bo was a little nervous about Yuuki transforming into her vessel form if only because that wasn't something she'd had experience with before. She would certainly not do anything other than use it to destroy the ayakashi. But they at least had some lined up that they could get rid of.

The call to arms was more up Bo's alley. She didn't hesitate to rush to the meeting hall, to get the scope of what was going on. Things she could fight and destroy. That's what she was good at, and she'd definitely be needing some of that, work out some of the frustrations she still had over this sudden shift in role she had. Bo was always more the physical type, whether it was the intimate type or the fighting sort.
It wasn't long before she was arming herself to the teeth. Two daggers strapped to her right thigh, knife on her left hip and a sword across her back. She well knew only her shinki's vessel form would destroy the ayakashi, but it never hurt to take as many weapons as possible to a war. Besides, Bo could probably use some hack-and-slash venting as well. And that was without getting into any of her succubus abilities. Bo herself was a weapon with multiple abilities, not just the god powers she had. She did have to wonder if ayakashi had chi. She knew a chi-suck wouldn't do much to them, but she could get a group chi-suck in if it meant that perhaps she could temporarily weaken them while they were fighting, giving more opportunity to destroy them.
"Well now, this should be tons of fun," she commented with some sarcasm, though she had a serious look on her face.
February 25th
Bo had lost track of Yuuki in the fighting. Yuuki moved way too fast for her to keep up with, especially when she was in the middle of fighting herself. Bo had some minor wounds, but they didn't phase her. In fact, they almost seemed to make her fight harder. Hacking, slashing, dodging, ducking, Bo was doing a dance of her own. And she was actually a very skilled fighter. Her sword flashed through the air, doing some damage to the ayakashi, but doing little more than to hold them in check from advancing any further.
The harder Bo fought, the more energy she was expending. This was the downside of not having fed since she'd arrived here. Bo was losing some strength. It was a good thing the ayakashi seemed to be fewer in number. Now Bo was more chasing.
"Hey!" She cried out and charged after the ayakashi she had been fighting. She turned a couple corners only to find herself starting to get winded, which was not okay with her. "I need a hit," she muttered, meaning a hit of chi. Drawing in a breath, Bo charged after the ayakashi, almost catching up to it when another one suddenly crossed her path and threw her into the wall of the nearest building.
"Oh hell no," she said as she got to her feet. "You are not doing that and running away." Her eyes suddenly began to glow blue. They were normally brown, and even someone who hadn't seen her before would be able to notice the blue of her eyes wasn't exactly natural. They were glowing, and the blue was a vibrant shade that wasn't precisely natural either.

Yukine didn't know why the heavens were providing mundane weapons like this, but the way the new gods were gearing up with them, he worried that they would be putting their trust in them and not the shinki.
"You heard that the ayakashi can only be killed by shinki, right?"
Going by the way that they'd talked together before, he's pretty sure she knows. So- what is she doing arming herself like this?

[Straight from one mess right into another. What a pain.
But at least the mess at home had pretty much been dealt with. He would have to waste his time worrying about what Aichi might be doing now. Not that being thrown right into this situation left him much time to worry about anything else anyway. There wasn't even time to worry about the situation itself.
Which was nice in its own way--he did always think that he did his best in situations where he had to think on his feet and learn as he went.
Of course, situations like that have their distractions, and this is now different. All the hustle and bustle, and so many weapons... After a while he has to just stop and look over a few of the swords, despite the quiet protests of the young woman following after him. Which he's been ignoring since they started, really.]

[So it turns out his shinki turns into something unwieldy, and it's very awkward swinging a scythe around enough to actually damage something, much less several somethings. Which is why, now that he's cleared a small park of the larger ayakashi that were roaming about...
He's taking a break.
More specifically, he's taking a break to play with a small goldfish ayakashi darting about in the air in front of him. He pokes his finger out, it darts at it, he pulls his hand back before it can touch him...it's all great fun.
But it's definitely not the only smaller ayakashi hanging around and the others are starting to look interested in this little game too...]

[Yamato is lingering near the swords too, for reasons that would be obvious if anyone knew what he was. Without his memories, they just seem to be the weapon he's drawn to--perhaps because (even) as a shinki, that's the form he takes.
He can't help but overhear Ren's comment, so he turns, frowning just a little.]

[ Well, the shink there were indeed pretty gentle, like a school nurse talking to a student. They even said he was a little lucky he got a "blank" shinki, so he's he got the lighter end of god problems. Still, that doesn't really make Otegine feel better when they tell him he's doing fine and gently shoo him out of the room for those who would need their services. A few steps away and to no person in particular, he goes off because that built up more frustration than relieved it. ]
Aaaaah, that didn't help at all! They could at least tell me how this even happened at all- weapons don't make good gods! This one especially!
[ He does not want this responsibility, please take it back. Getting that out of his system though helped a bit though, as he leans against a wall while rubbing his temples. ]

[ Fighting off ayakashi, now that he can understand. It isn't easy with the shinki he has- it takes the form of a trench knife, which doesn't have the reach he's more comfortable with. Not that it stops him from going on the offensive and charging them when he sees any nearby. ]
Where are all of these coming from? I hate to think the humans here are that down on themselves...
[ Before Otegine even realizes it, there is a decent flock of small bird ayakashi, flapping about or making swooping dives at the unfortunate god. He tries to get a swipe on any one of them to no avail, since they're rather quick. He gets one nuisance of a bird sliced in half with some luck at least. That doesn't deter the others, unfortunately. ]

Excuse me, did you say you were a weapon? [Other than the niggling feeling that there's something obvious he's missing, Yamato has no way of knowing they're acquainted. So there's no recognition on his face, only polite curiosity.] What kind of weapon are you? Are you a shinki too?

...So...this is going to be a real fight, huh? [For someone who's normally concerned about other people's well-being, Yuya looks...a bit hesitant. It'll be his first time transforming, and he's desperately hoping that he'll turn into something as useful as Yuto's dragon form. Somehow, that takes more a priority on his mind than actually fighting.
There's not much time to worry though because the ayakashi are beginning to move onto the street they've relocated to. Yuya ends up taking a deep breath before looking between Yuto and Vector.]

[There's a red dragon coming right at you, and it wouldn't be wrong to think that it's another ayakashi on the attack. Until--]
Watch out! [A boy's voice telepathically echoes out from the dragon as it jumps and body-slams into an ayakashi that was creeping up from behind.]

[ He could have done without the baggage.
Sho's no fan of the quiet, nondescript young man that's now defined as his minion. Shinki. Whatever. High on his list of tasks to do involved heading out to Shibuya and dressing the ridiculous radian in his own sense of fashion because he's not cool with having something so boring follow him around.
It's as he's stalking through he meeting hall that something sets him off. He stops suddenly, reaching for the shinki. He gets a fistful of hair, and meets no particular protest when he hauls the vessel along. ]
Pick up the pace, Picowatt. We've got places to go faster than .012 meters per second. [ There's nothing odd here about a heavily tattooed young man casually dragging a youth around by the hair, is there?]
[Feb 24 Battle]
[ It'd been a disappointment to find that he's definitely restricted from the UG, but Minamimoto would manage. There were differences between this Shibuya and the one he deserved to own, the trends on a different vector entirely. He's chill as can be despite the setback, though he ought to be on ayakashi annihilating duty. He'd had a few more important things to take care of, like dressing Picowatt in artfully torn jeans and a grey hoodie. The spiked choker and excess of silver chains here and there might have been overkill for such a bland little guy, but Sho thinks it's an improvement.
He's adjusting Picowatt's hoodie for the right artful effect right around when a great multilegged technicolor nightmare comes leaping at god and shinki alike. It's clearly testament to Sho's excellent caretaking that he hauls his quiet vessel along by his collar when he teleports out of its path. ] So zetta slow!
[ And now to lead it somewhere more interesting, dragging Picowatt's human form along all the while. Anyone that knows him wouldn't be surprised in the least that he's leading it right towards another god just to stir up a little trouble. ]
Feb 24th
He hasn't gotten the hang out teleporting yet, not having bothered to practice yet, so when he sees the giant whatever that Minamimoto has dragged along, he'll just give an angry yell, pointing at the errant god accusingly. ]
O-oi! Put-Put that back where you found it! Someone's probably looking for it! Their mom's gonna get mad if they lose it!

[There's another new face in the room, staring curiously at the screens showing everything. She doesn't look like much, a typical high schooler. If anything she's out of place and looks like a stray mortal that got scooped up...but was there truly a ideal profile for a God to be? It didn't seem like it with all the different kinds of people she caught passing by.
All in all, her attention shifts from the screen to anyone walking by. She points at the screen.]
So those are Ayakashi? Wow, there's so many! How do you stop so many...I don't even know where to start!!

[ There's so much going on, so many gods fighting and so many Ayakashi attacking....it's hard to keep track of much of it at all. But Hajime is more then willing to help out anyway she can. Unlike most of the other gods she's doing this solo with no Shinki.
Call it unlucky if you will.
Even without that though, she's still willing to do something. Until a better plan comes up, delaying and distracting will work. So long as the town is saved that's what matters right?
So never-mind the high-school uniformed student waving her arms wildly, loudly calling out to the Ayakashi's nearby. Anything to get their attention]
Ayakashi!!! Yoohooo! Over here! You don't want to play with those people that won't notice you. Come this way!
[She smiles brightly, gathering their attention before darting off. They were chasing after her and leaving the others alone, good! Now she just needed to figure out what to do with them.]

It's more that he's impressed that she'd managed to gather up so many of them, drawing them in. If he had a better nature, he might have even let her keep them all, but his misplaced sense of competition has him after what he assumes to be her targets. Minamimoto flickers into existence on the head of one of the largest ones, taking aim and firing a shot with his fancy new weapon before vanishing again. Repeating that strategy means that it'll just be a function of time before he's wrecked the worst of the highschooler's followers.
He can't help but feel rather smug. Such a successful effort at stealing kills seems worth gloating about. ]
Heh, sucks to be you. [ He teleports ahead of the girl, stomping on a comically small phantom for emphasis. ] I'm adding these to my tally.

[No, really. Run away. There was no way anybody would make someone like him into a god, so screw this. That was his first instinct here, since . . . weren't these things supposed to be phantoms? They were ghosts, right? A whole lot of freaky-looking ghosts and Gintoki didn't want anything to do with them. Sure, this was just what the world needed. He didn't do great with ghosts, okay? And these were just. . .they were mutant ghosts, alright?
For a moment, he debates on just walking away. He could just go hunker down in a family restaurant for awhile, just until this was all over. From what he'd understood, he couldn't kill them without some special weapon anyway. He was stuck on level one, and he wouldn't level up for awhile.
But the moment he sits down at a booth in the resturaunt, these awful things came right through the walls. Maybe they were attracted to a god who didn't have any way to really defend himself. He'll sit there and, just for a moment, close his eyes.
go away, go away, I can't see you, you can't see me. . .
But it doesn't work. The moment he opens his eyes, the booth is crawling with little creatures. There's even a medium-sized one poking at his hand, and it really doesn't feel good.
He'll be running back outside onto the street with a scream. There were probably a lot of people staring at him. Great.]

[B . . . the best part of the work day is the lunch break ]
[All he grabbed from the meeting hall was a wooden bo staff. When he found out it didn't actually change into a person like he'd seen other weapons do, he kept it anyway. Something was better than nothing. Unfortunately that means all he can do is knock the ayakashi around and give himself more time to run away.
He needed someone with one of those special weapons. When he comes across another person - another god like him, though how he was even a god made no sense at all - he'll hop right in, clearing away some ayakashi with a few strong blows. There you go. Now you have a bit more room to work.
His strength was pretty impressive, like maybe this guy was serious business, and maybe he was a god --except for the words that come out of his mouth afterwards.]
Oi, you know, I can't kill these things. You're gonna have to do more work, so don't slack off. I don't wanna do this anymore.
[Then he'll hit another monster . . . ]
Ehhh, after this, I want a whole carton of strawberry milk. I wanna eat a really big lunch. . . I'm too hungry to fight. . .
[ He's real heroic right now.]

[Tsuzuki tosses an ofuda at the nearest ayakashi. Halfway there, the sheet of paper grows wings and screeches like a bird, circling around to dive-bomb the back of its head.]
I can't kill these things either! We're just gonna have to do a good job of keeping them confined, and maybe one of the big deal gods will stop by before they figure it out.
[While the ayakashi is turning to bat with clumsy transparent limbs at the shikigami, Tsuzuki hurls another ofuda at its face. This one sticks, and it falls over, temporarily stunned.]

[He still wasn't quite sure what was going on here. Well, other than the fact that he was apparently dead, anyway. With everyone milling about and weaponry being offered freely, there were more than a few opportunities available to him right now, but not all of those opportunities were being weighed evenly in his mind. The weaponry was one thing, but finding his god was entirely another, and saying prayers was right out. Prayers sent out into the ether were about as helpful as doing nothing at all. He had a gut feeling that he had settled on that long before he had found himself in this situation.
Besides, he didn't have the right to wonder about that sort of thing now, did he?
In the end he helped himself to a swordβa large enough one to make someone wonder if he could even wield it, evenβand went right back out with the flat side of the blade resting on his shoulder.]
February 24
[It hadn't taken him long to figure out that he couldn't defeat any of these ayakashi on his own. Really, the best thing to do would have been to either find his god or at least find a paired god and shinki to fight with. Unfortunately, working together had never been something he had been good at. That still stuck even though he couldn't remember any reasons about why that might be.
His injuries were piling up little by little this way, but he made no effort to try anything else.]
February 25
[Ross hadn't bothered to give chase when the ayakashi started their retreat. He didn't get out of those fights unscathed after all, and to make things worse he didn't have much of anything to dress his wounds with. Even with that in mind, he was a little closer to the barrier than he should have been, although it wasn't clear why just by looking. Maybe he was keeping watch. Maybe he was on the lookout for anyone who might get trampled during their escape.
Or maybe he just thought it was funny to watch the ayakashi flee with their tails between their legs. That one was...slightly more possible than the other two options, to put it lightly. The sardonic look on his face left little room for interpretation.
He held his hand over one of his wounds, but nothing happened. Still no mana. Or at the very least, not enough mana. He probably just gave himself away if there was anyone nearby who could sense magic, but he didn't seem to be in a big hurry to get out of there.]

[Yuto is leaning his back against a wall, arms crossed over his chest, his gaze fixed on one of the screens. Anyone who has met him before might notice that the boy's expression seems even more serious and cold as ever before.
The preparation before battle β he doesn't know why but it feels somewhat familiar. He is not afraid of fighting though. He knows that he... they have no other choice but to win. They have to protect people form those creatures.
Yuto just wishes the fight will be over soon.
And that nobody will get hurt.]
Fighting
[A black dragon appears in the midst of chaos. Black, strangely shaped wings and glowing yellow eyes give it an ominous look. Without a doubt it's a dragon born from darkness.
...Okay, maybe not. This dragon might look like an ayakashi, but it is not an enemy. It's probably hard to tell though... unless you've already met a certain red dragon. Or maybe you decided to observe this strange creature? Yuto is doing his very best to protect anyone who would be in danger of getting attacked. He doesn't mind getting hurt in the process either.
He also may accidentally cause some minor damage. He's still not used to his dragon form.]
Fighting
Hajime has been doing her best to divert attention of some of Ayakashi without the use of powers or shinki. She doesn't seem like much of a good. Her clothes are dirty and a bit torn from some close incounters and there are a few scrapes here and there but nothing too bad. She's done what she set out to do for the most part and even met some interesting people along the way. Not bad at all!
She perks at the black dragon as it flies by. While it may blend in to the Ayakashis from afar there are details that make it stand out from the rest. Born of darkness or not, it doesn't look nearly as mindless or hungry as the Ayakashis attacking. She gapes a bit watching it zoom over head and crash into battle with some other ayakashi.
It's a good dragon! Ah! She has to get a better look! She just has too!
With no Ayakashi's currently on her tail, Hajime dashes towards the fight. She finds the closest tall-building to the fighting and dashes inside. It isn't long until she makes it too the roof and stops at the ledge. She can see so much better!]
Whoaaaaa! Yeah! Do your best!
[Hajime cheers. The details of the dragon are so much more clearer now---though her attention isn't on the large Ayakashi that's stalking up the building behind her.]
