002 | Tokyo In Trouble

Who: Everyone!
What: Surprise! There's a disaster on the Near Shore.
When: Late at night (February 24, 2016) into mid-afternoon (February 25, 2016)
Where: The Meeting Hall of the Heavens AND various places around Tokyo
Summary: A nice little greeting for the new guests and an unpleasant surprise for the older ones~

A sudden, loud blast of noise persists throughout the entirety of the Heavens. It sounds much like a war horn of ancient times being played at a decibel that is meant to shake the very core of every being within its range. No matter how much you might try to block out the noise, it remains ringing in your ears deafeningly, and somehow you find yourself compelled towards the Meeting Hall - the place where you were first introduced to the Heavens and what you have gotten wrapped up in.

Anyone checking their phones will notice a large, bright red alert flashing at them - 'EMERGENCY! REPORT IMMEDIATELY!' It seems that the Heavens have taken to using modern technology for their messages as well.

Once you have reached the Meeting Hall, you will find that every wall has turned into a sort of television screen, displaying various streets and buildings in Tokyo, everyone one literally crawling with ayakashi both big and small. A voice that you recognize as Amaterasu's - though you would never be able to describe it properly - rings throughout the halls.

"We need your help, brave gods, loyal shinki. A rift the likes of which we have never dealt with has opened on the Near Shore. We must end the ayakashi who are harming our dear followers. Please come to our aid in this time of need."

Meeting Hall

The once garishly decorated Meeting Hall looks very much like the base of operations for an army at war. There are gods gearing up with shinki and man-made gear as well and plenty of gods and shinki saying prayers before they head out to battle. Everything you might need to make yourself feel safe during a fight has been provided, including every type of weaponry. But, of course, only shinki wielded by a god can actually destroy an ayakashi.

Counselling

In the main hallway, there is an innocuous door with a small, nicely written sign that reads "Gentle Counselling". Inside the door is a small room with a few sweetly smiling shinki inside who are willing to listen to your problems and answer any questions you might have. They are also here to help out any gods that are having a hard time dealing with knowing about how their shinki died and any shinki that is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that they are dead.

February 24

The rift that has opened is so vast that there is literally nowhere in Tokyo that you can go without encountering a rampaging group of ayakashi. Everything is utter chaos and there are creatures everywhere for you to fight. Let's just hope that you can get out of this dangerous battlefront mostly unscathed.

February 25

Towards the middle of the day, it will seem that the ayakashi are becoming fewer and further between. Things seem to be calming down a lot, though they are nowhere near normal yet, especially since the rift is taking longer to close than the Heavens would like. Fortunately, no new ayakashi have escaped into the Near Shore from the rift since this morning, due to a barrier that has been placed around it. Still, the ayakashi seem to be really hell-bent on getting away from you all now rather than fighting...

In Summary:
  • There are a ton of ayakashi on the Near Shore that need to be destroyed.
  • The newbies are getting one hell of a welcome as a result.
  • Seek counselling if you need it!
  • Go kick some evil ass.
  • Comment to the first thread to get a randomly generated number of ayakashi to face.
  • Mods will gladly play out any ayakashi interactions where requested.
  • Try not to get killed~

[Elsa has never been more grateful for all that she's been through in her career. He may look and sound different than anyone she's seen or heard here so far, but that doesn't throw her. She's come across all sorts of students from all sorts of places, with all sorts of stories. This person could easily be any one of them.]

I wouldn't know, being that this is my first party here.

[She has to think on his question for a second or two.] No, I'm afraid I haven't. I'm sorry. Are they your shinki, or--?
jyajyaaan: (no helping it)

[He is a bit let down by the lack of a reaction - if he's stuck with a face like that the least he can do is make the best of it and startle people with it - but it doesn't show as he sighs and shrugs his shoulder. For all of his alien looks his body language is very human and communicative.]

They are - at least if you ask them. I'm not so sure about that, but it seems I have been utterly railroaded into having to take care of these two~

[If she knew he was hoping to faze her a little, Elsa would be even prouder of herself for keeping her cool.

The way he talks about his shinki, she's almost grateful for the glum attitude her own seems married to. Sure, he's sullen all the time, but at least Elsa always knows where Shaki is or where to find him.]

I hope they'll be as energetic in battle. [That'll be helpful, right?]
jyajyaaan: (seriously-!)

[personal profile] jyajyaaan 2016-03-27 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Not much energetic-ness needed when one turns into a dragon. Which is probably a good thing considering he seems even more set on turning a smile upside down than the happy one behind you.

[He is still complaining but something in the way he says it implies that it's more of the casual groans of a designated driver than somebody who feels real dislike against the ones he is complaining about.]

I wish you good luck with yours - hopefully you'll get something more wieldy.
arealhardnose: (hell no)

[personal profile] arealhardnose 2016-03-28 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
If dragons are anything like teenagers, then they'll have more than enough energy on their own. [Which is to say, she'll concede the point. She adds a shrug and a little smile to get that across. Who is she to judge, anyway?]

Thank you. [Though... she doesn't think of her shinki as a thing. Maybe he's referring to Shaki's vessel form?] I'm... somewhat better with a sword, but a halberd will do for now.
jyajyaaan: (defense position)

[personal profile] jyajyaaan 2016-03-31 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't actually thought to compare any of the real deal dragons I know to teenagers. Although that would explain certain clingy or constantly constipated moments...

[He frowns and shrugs his shoulders.]

Don't date Galaxy Eyes', I guess. A halberd should be plenty good, as long as you just make sure to swing the pointy end in your enemy's direction and tell any ally to stay out of the way. Which I should tell my dragon, too. We still have to pay for a car thanks to that tail.

If you get a sword I'll be jealous.
arealhardnose: (ahaha what)

[personal profile] arealhardnose 2016-04-01 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Technically, Elsa only has experience with dinosaurs and teenagers, but she's heard stories.] Ah, I hope that doesn't become a problem for you.

[That-- of course the pointy thing gets swung at her enemies. Does she look like she wouldn't know that? It must be the outfit. If she were in her (what would one even call it?) warrior's outfit (good enough), she could avoid this. Maybe she should see if she can use her new powers to make it happen now and again.]

I'll be sure to keep that in mind. [...that doesn't sound like a fun conversation to have with someone, dragon or not.]

Somehow I don't think I'll be so lucky, but I'll work with what I have. It's not a problem, as long as we can defeat all these ayakashi.
jyajyaaan: (the pain I just can't hide)

[personal profile] jyajyaaan 2016-04-03 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[To be fair Vector would have made the pointy end comment to everybody, including some seasoned fighters he knows. He gives her a look as if he has his doubts that things will be that easy but then just nods jerkily.]

Right. Kill and don't get killed until they manage to plug that leak or gateway or whatever it is. It might be a good idea for the new gods to lag back and take care of any ayakashi that get past the frontlines. That way the more experienced ones can concentrate on the main problem and cut off the enemy's support.

[personal profile] arealhardnose 2016-04-03 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Right.

[Whether or not he means it as a battle plan everyone should follow, she's on board with it. It's sensible, and it puts her and all the other new gods in a position to help rather than hinder the ones with experience.

Nodding at him, she glances across the room at her shinki, then back at Vector.]
On that note, I should get going. If I see your shinki, I'll send them your way.
jyajyaaan: (let's stop and think)

[personal profile] jyajyaaan 2016-04-04 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's a bit of both: Vector knows that his plans are good because that's what he does, but he's also that used to having to wrangle everybody into actually considering them that her agreement earns her a brief surprised look.]

Do that, please. Good hunting.

[Catching people off guard is one of the little things in life Elsa takes perhaps too much pleasure in. Her lips quirk in a small grin, and she nods at him.]

Likewise.

[With that, she goes to find her shinki and head to the Near Shore for a fight.]
