Why not? There's nothing stopping you from using one. [Just put a dog leash on a cat and boom, cat leash! Or buy one of those leashed harnesses that really are used for cats...
More hands sounds like it'd be better at holding down a cat, but when Add tries to adjust her position for Genos she slips free. He makes a surprised noise, hands still grasping at empty air as she dashes away.]
—Hey, get back here! [He didn't even get to pet the cat properly...! This is completely unacceptable!
Ah, but wait! This is where technology comes in handy. He turns to his cube, hastily lifting the box off of it (and struggling with the weight, even though it doesn't even look that heavy).] Apocalypse, capture that cat!
[The hovering cube flickers with light, then silently zips off down the hall, pursuing its target. And Add doesn't even have to move an inch. Easy!]
Don't send your weird machine after a kitten! [ Says the weird machine guy. He jumps on his feet, but while it's clear he wants to chase, he tries to not move from his spot, instead he watches powerless as the cube follows Motoki around. Then he attempts to grab at Add's collar to give him a good shake. ]
Make it stop and land it somewhere! [ He's got a plan, actually ] The more you chase, the faster she will run.
[ But a non-moving object like this might become something worth checking. A potential cat-bed. Everything is a potential bed for cat after all ]
It's fine, Apocalypse is good with cats. [He shrugs off Genos' concerns, though it's a bit harder to shrug off being violently shaken. He makes a very undignified squawk, grabbing onto the metal wrist on his collar to keep himself steady.
... and maybe getting slightly distracted for a moment, but how could Add even think of passing up an opportunity to feel out Genos' robotics?? Ahh, the metal is slightly warm...]
She can't run forever, so she'll have to slow down eventually. [but it could take awhile for that to happen... he clicks his tongue, then looks down the hallway where Motoki and Apocalypse can still be seen running around.] Hmm. Alright, let's try it. Apocalypse! Stop and land!
[The cube freezes in midair on command, and after a second of delay it drops straight to the floor.]
[ It looks like a cat, so it kinda makes sense it's good with cats, but Genos is a protective over Motoki. And he lets Add go some time after he feels the touch on his wrist.
Maybe he did shake him a bit too much ]
Now stay put and watch.
[ As the Apocalypse drops down Motoki stops running. What's the fun in that? For a long moment the kitten remains in place, just like the cube. But just when the waiting becomes unbearable, she carefully starts to walk towards Apocalypse.
[He straightens out his shirt once he's released, lightly dusting off the area Genos grabbed. He's a little hesitant to let go on Genos' wrist, though, but he has at least a little tact, so he lets go after a pause. There will be other opportunities to dismantle that hand...
Apocalypse doesn't have any further orders, so it simply stays where it is. The smaller cubes that make up its body pulsate faintly, moving in tiny waves within the formation, but for the most part its trying to stay still. The kitten can approach all it wants.
Add folds his arms, watching as instructed.] Hmm. Perhaps if it comes a little closer, Apocalypse would be able to trap it in a gravity well...
[Yeah, even if he means well its probably not a good idea to trust Add with the wrangling part of cat-wrangling.]
[He yelps a bit over getting smacked, too, grumbling and rubbing at the side of his head. You have metal hands, Genos, would it kill you to be more gentle?? Not that Add didn't deserve it at least a little.
Would Motoki really use Apocalypse as a bed, though? He pauses to consider that for a moment.]
...It is box-shaped... [Cats love boxes. Also, the mental image is extremely adorable. This may very well be worth waiting for.] ... as long as it doesn't take too long. I can't be waiting around here all day, I have other things to do.
Add & Genos

Yeah, it's suspicious, but also interesting. ]
See?

If you let it not do absolutely anything, I guarantee Motoki will jump on it and treat it as a bed.
[ It might take time, which he doesn't mention. ]
Or treat you as bed, if you don't move. She has a track record of sleeping on people's feet.

[ He points again at the cube, and... there it is. A black kitten starts to carefully and cautiously approach it, but clear curiosity. ]
It's not going to take that long.
[ And hop, a cat in the box is there ]
