[After a few days of being lost underground, Sora finally managed to return to the surface. The plus side? He avoided cleaning up duties after Sho’s meltdown completely. The downside? His shoulder was still pretty busted up thanks to a certain blond and baseball bat combo.

Curaga spells healed most of the damage but there is still a distinct throbbing in his shoulder and sharp pains. Magic would do most of the work but Sora is ready to rest and relax.

He teleports home and opens the door as quietly as possible and creeps inside. He peeks around for Riku Replica and whispers,] ...Riku? You home?

Whispering like he thinks it’ll make the reunion easier somehow. He absolutely knows Riku Replica is going to be angry. He kind of vanished for a few days without telling him. That and they still had to talk about the whole Axel thing… And the hornet-like stings Sora’s been feeling lately.]

[Closed to Hyuuga Hinata]

[Baldr’s temple is a rather simple one compared to other temples. It’s not the biggest but it’s homely and welcoming. Sitting on the shoreline, the sound of the waves are always crashing and the seabreeze is always sweet.

The strange thing about the beachside temple is the various amounts of herbs and plant life that grow near the temple and around the area. It’s attributed to Sora’s godhood as Baldr. The place is littered with Chamomile, Basil, Echinacea, Lavender, Marigold, Lemon Balm and more. And don’t forget the collections of Baldr’s Brow and highly poisonous Lilly-of-the-Valley.

Not that Sora knows any of this. Which is why he’s asked Hinata for some help deciphering what is what. Ninja-cat-goddesses know these things, right?]

[OPEN; Late April or Early May]

[If one picks to visit Baldr’s temple there are a few things one might encounter before finding Sora or Riku Replica.

A very plump and cuddly looking Dream Eater that resembles a cross between a cat, bear and dog. Yes, that is pink hearts fluffing off him.

A talking baby fox demon that happens to know how to fly. He’s new, be nice.

A two-tailed pure black cat that also happens to be an Ayakashi. Please don’t touch it. Or kill it.

Otherwise, Baldr’s temple lies on the shoreline and the doors are always open. Sora has a very bad habit of not locking anything. So feel free to swing by and encounter one of these strange creatures or say hello to a god of light or his shinki.

Beware of random Ayakashi encounters, they tend to show up once in awhile at this temple as well.]

[Sora nearly lets out a breath of relief because that will make his next question a whole lot more meaningful.]

Great! Because I've been thinking! I know things have been tough with you and Joshua, and with losing Ventus and the others. And you say some weird things sometimes but, would it be easier for you if you became my shinki?

[He'd been thinking about this since Ventus left, in all honesty.]

[He stares blankly.]

I tend to bring bad luck to my gods.

[They disappear actually.]

I'm not really afraid of getting bad luck, to be honest with you!

[He's not that superstitious!]

I wouldn't want you to disappear.

[He smiles.]

Well, the offer is out there. It's really up to you! I'm not gonna be afraid of disappearing, we just have to take the days one at a time!

[He scratches his cheek.]

You should talk to Joshua before you say yes or no though.

[Because Sora has a huge respect for Joshua, and he wouldn't do this unless Joshua was okay with it too.]

[He makes a noise of discontent at that.

He doesn't like Joshua much, being honest.]

[Sora pats his shoulder.]

I know, I know! He's hard to get along with, but he's my friend too. I gotta look at it from a god point of view too! If my shinki left for another god without telling me I'd be pretty upset.

[He's just trying to be empathetic to both parties. If Riku Replica left him or nora'd because they weren't getting along he'd be devastated. And he can't betray Joshua, especially after Neku leaving.]

Like I said, I think it'll be better for you to be with me, but you gotta talk to Joshua too. It's important!

And if he says no?

[Bringing up this question at all might cause tension between Sora and Joshua. Nageki's not sure he'd want to even ask it.]

Besides, it isn't as if I'd leave him.

[Sora nods.]

Just tell him how you feel. I'm sure he'll understand.

[Nageki really needs to work on that, especially if he's going to come with Sora too. He just wants Nageki to be happy with the arrangement without causing blight to Joshua or Sora.]

[Nageki rarely blights. To be fair that's because guilt normally escapes him. The singular case of stinging was an outlier. How many times will he remember a massacre really?]

I'm pretty sure he can read my thoughts. Why bother telling him?

[Sora rubs the back of his head awkwardly and laughs.]

I guess that's true...

[He grouches a little. But he's trying not to be a complete dick here. Joshua and Sora are friends. Nageki just... isn't huge about how Joshua talked to him that first encounter.

The way he holds himself is uncomfortable.]

I think he sees me as an object.

[He shrugs. That in itself is not so much a big deal. That on top of the constant encouragement he gets from other people that he's not and not being able to just accept it? That is.

He wishes Sora and Roxas especially would just let him accept that a shinki is a tool. But he doubts that'll happen.]

[Sora nods. He knows how hard this probably is for Nageki but he still has to be honest with his friend. It's a difficult situation but Sora is still rather adamant that Nageki would be happy to have him as a god too.]

How about I talk to him, for you?

[It makes the most sense. It's hard for Nageki and Joshua to talk, he gets that.]

What if he says no to you?

[He doesn't want to make things bad for Sora and a friend.]

[Sora doesn't skip a beat about that and shakes his head.]

If I know Joshua, I'll be able to convince him. Don't worry about it, okay? As long as you really wanna come with me and that'll make you happy, that's all that matters.

[He doesn't understand the concept of happy, Sora. He blinks, gaze settling somewhere behind Sora's shoulder.]

If I wind up godless again, there's a chance I might disappear for good, isn't there?

[Well good thing he's nora-ing to literally the most sunshine happy god there probably is? Sora will show him how it's done.]

That's a pretty giant assumption, Nageki! We don't know if any of that is true, and I'm not going anywhere if I can help it.

A godless soul can turn into an ayakashi as well, can't it?

[Sora looks puzzled.]

I've never heard about that happening before. Where did you hear that??

Ayakashi are just souls, aren't they?

Yeah, that's right. Ones that have been corrupted. But you're not, and even if we did all magically vanish, I think you'd still be okay.

[He grins brightly at Nageki.]

But that's not happening, and that's final okay! Don't be grumpy, leave everything to me. I promise it'll be alright.

But that's what a shinki gets from their bond with a god. Protection from something like that.

[On his own he's defenseless.]

... I'll trust you, I guess...

[He believes in Nageki, despite his negativity. He thinks Nageki is stronger than he gives himself credit for.]

I'm not going anywhere, Nageki. You have to trust that too.
