[Ruri, oblivious as always to anything resembling a pick up line looks around]

"There certainly are a lot of people here. Were you posted somewhere remote before being brought here, or do you have duties that may keep people away?"

[Dang, she's straight to the point on the 'getting to know you' list of things. But hey, he can dig that!]

It was a pretty remote area, not gonna lie. What with all the evil aliens trying to take over the galaxy being the only company outside of my team.

[He looks at his nails, like he's trying to say 'no biggie~'.]

What about you?

"We formed an alliance with the aliens about 3 years ago. Most of my time back home was on my ship hunting pirates."

[Her face changes slightly at that from deadpan to almost angry, but she shakes her head and goes back to deadpan]

"You don't look like engineering or command crew, maybe a pilot or cook staff?"

[Yeah, Ruri comes from a messed up ship, the cooks are just as important as the combat crews]

[He makes finger guns at her, though man it's a little weird that there's someone else from a spaceship here?? Huh.]

Pilot! You got it in one go, good job!

[Lance smooths back his hair with a smirk.]

I knew I looked like the best pilot around.

"Actually, you are the only person I've seen that looks like a pilot here. Though I guess by default that makes you the best. I know I was never certified in Aestevalus piloting, or on Earth long enough to get my driver's license."

[Still with that she ponders, he carries himself more as she would know the leader of a super mega corp than just a pilot. Probably best to keep an eye on him to see if he is something sinister like that.]

[Boo, don't ruin his delusions so readily...!!]

Man, that sucks. That you weren't on Earth for long, I mean. It's a great place, really.

[He gestures around.]

"Well, I was born on Earth. I just wasn't allowed out of the labs till I was 10, so I'm not sure that counts. And I don't have anything against it really. It is very different from Mars and the Jovian colonies."

[She shrugs a bit at the trees, yes, trees are pretty, but they are also a lot of maintenance and a big target for orbital bombardment. Now rivers, those are her weakness, water is just pretty, even if she can't really swim.]

"They are nice trees, but they're also grown on the colonies where I'm from, what about you?"

Uh… I'd never actually seen these kinda trees in person before now. I lived in the US.
