( It's okay if someone isn't a party person. But the idea of this Hazel person not sticking around for the performance makes him pretty sad. It's like a parent not showing up to a kid's rehearsal... )

[That's so cute... What the heck. Jae-Ha chuckles as he glances down to his instrument.]

Not here, but rest assured I've played more private concerts for him than anyone else. [He got to witness him pining for this thing.] Also, since we live together, he won't be able to avoid it.

( Urashima Kotetsu is a cute weapon. )

Hmm... ( That does ease Urashima somewhat but it's clear by the way his mouth twists into a frown and his eye brows knit together closely that he isn't quite satisified with that answer. ) I think today should be special, though.

( So Hazel should definitely be here. Ah, but then he gives Jae-Ha a playful smile as he explains, )

[Jae-Ha feels brighter just with talking to this guy. His party... He likes it. Smiling warmly, he takes his instrument and approaches with a hop off the stage.]

It is special, of course! I've met two people who are very important to me today, and now we've just met, as well.

[He fills in helpfully for him after a couple of misters fall out, smiling with a tilt of his head.] I'll gladly play any time you'd like to hear it, so feel free to ask. It's nice to meet you.

Have you seen much of the food at this picnic, Urashima? It's delicious. I'm not usually a man who eats many sweets, but they're especially wonderful.

I've seen the bento before but the ones in the big baskets are new... there're a lot of sweets in those, though.

( Or maybe its the same amount of sweets but just sweeter. The apple pie was great? Urashima's just a kid that loves sweet things. )

There was something called a "Cream eclair," have you seen one before? If I set this instrument aside, we could go find a few things to enjoy.

( Aah, someone is going to score some great treats today. )

I can show you the ones I've had too! Have you had hanami dango yet?

I haven't! Dango, I've heard of that around here, but I haven't tried it at all. Is it nice? You'll have to show me.

[He'll go find a place to leave his erhu and then lead this guy towards snacks! This is a great idea.]

Ah! You have to have some if you're watching the cherry blossoms.

( You have to, Jae-Ha. Have to. But he's totally, totally following like a happy little duckling right behind him. )

What's an eclair like? Is it in the baskets? I don't think I've seen anything weird in the bento yet.

Leave some surprise to it and it will add to the magic. You don't want to ruin a delicious surprise, do you? I'd only get you too excited and you'd find it disappointing.

[So, he'll leave him to experience this for the first time completely on his own! It's probably not part of the bento at all, because he's leading them to some other section where there are just plenty of pastries set out for anyone to take. He points out an eclair.]

( That... is not the answer he was expecting. He expected an answer! Not a mystery! Now he's wondering about this magical eclair with cream. What's it like? It must be something like bread topped with lots of cream... )

... There's no cream. ( He doesn't see any cream on top? It's just a long bun... ) Are you sure this is it?

( He'll still reach for it because it still looks good. And he turns it over in his hands once before taking a bite and-- . )

Mmmm!!!

( AAAH THERE'S THE CREAM HE'S SPILLING IT AND RAISING A HAND TO HIS MOUTH TO CATCH IT from falling it onto the floor and aaaaah aaaah this sure is the most animated way to eat an eclair )

[What the fuck that's cute, he will now adopt this little brother as his own.]

You see, there's the surprise! [Laughing, he grabs a few napkins from the table and steps closer to try and offer them forward and help.] Here...

Ugh don't laugh at him it was an honest mistake he didn't expect the cream to just come out like that. He's reaching for the napkins and wrapping it around the eclair and cleaning himself up some. Ugh, he's a little embarrassed but it's not so bad. )

... Thanks, heh heh. ( He's not a total dweeb, give him a chance to make it up, Jae-ha. ) It's really good.

You see? If I had ruined the surprise, it wouldn't be nearly as fun. The cream in the center is what makes it truly delicious.

[And how fresh they are! But still. He'll stand by with more napkins, just in case.] I'll wait until your hands are less full to find this dango of yours.

( It's a mumble while he's still clearly enjoying himself. Urashima is a sweet kid!! But a little salt runs in his family and his turtle companion isn't here to salt for him...

It won't take him long to finish though because he doesn't want to keep his new friend waiitng. Ah, but he'll definitely take some of those napkins because his hands are all sticky now. )

( Come on, Jae-ha, follow him or are you too old to keep up with a five hundred year old spirit kid. )

[That was too hilarious. But oh— he's taking off now? He steps after him, lagging behind a little bit because he is a little old, sometimes.]
