[She catches the bucket easily, still eyeing the little cloud with mingled suspicion and bemusement.]

It picked a hell of a time to show up. Not that I'm complaining.

[Not one to pass up a potential weapon, Yoruichi had tried to access her alleged new powers in the past, but hadn't had any luck. She's not sure what changed today, but she can wonder about that when she's not surrounded by a forest fire.

Experimentally, she tries to consciously guide the cloud. It grows even larger, dousing the flame faster it had than before. But at the same time, she can feel it bucking at her control, so she lets it shrink back down to a more manageable size.]

It looks like this is the biggest I can manage. [There are others fighting the fire, just visible through the smoke and haze. But this section of the forest seems to be left to the two of them, so she might as well use her new power as much as she can.]

Yeah, that timing is plot device material if I ever saw it, but damn if I'm going to look a gift cloud in the mouth either.

[Flying a little overhead so he can try to steer them away from any worse patches he sees upcoming, Davesprite's gaze comes back to the cloud every so often to watch its progress. Even if it's restricted to something small, it's a pretty impressive power, as far as he's concerned.

Squinting a little through the smoke, looking over the top of his shades as much as he can without actively removing them, he curves slightly to the right before heading straight again.]

Shouldn't be too much further. Thank fuck this is a park and not a proper forest.

[Even as the cloud hovers over trees, Yoruichi's able to fill the bucket to splash over stray embers just out of her path as they go. With Davesprite's aerial view, they're in much better shape than might be expecting for getting caught in a spontaneous fire.]

I'd say someone was looking out for us, but someone did set that fire, so...

[She breaks off as a strip of paper blows past her face. It's damp, but the ink is clear against the background. Down with the heavens! Down with Amaterasu! More and more rain down, their edges singed and curled by the flames.]

And I guess now we know why. Have you seen these?

[When the papers start raining down again, Davesprite brushes a few out of his face with one taloned hand, but curls back when Yoruichi comments on them.]

Yeah, a couple were floating around when I took my first look over the damage. Sounds like someone's got a hell of a lot more than awkward questions and pages of criticism about the job they're doing running this place to offer the top dogs here.

[Despite his words, the tone is fairly serious - if this was a planned attack, then there's probably more of the same coming in future. And it opens some particularly nasty cans of worms that he doesn't care to delve into while they're chilling in the middle of a fire.]

I'd be more sympathetic if they hadn't decided to risk everyone else's lives to make their point.

[Yoruichi has her own issues regarding this place--being brought here against her will, for one. But plenty of the people here are non-combatants, and have no way of escaping or fighting the fire. She'd never risk someone else's life to register her displeasure.]

How far are we from the edge of the fire?

Yeah, if they've got an issue with the management flaming them and anyone who happens to be in the vicinity in the most literal way you can flame someone isn't getting them any points from me either.

[It only highlights it more that they did it at something that was expressly a welcoming gathering. There are probably people here who don't even know up from down here, and they're immediately getting confronted with this.

Flying up a little and lowering his shades momentarily to peer through the smoke, Davesprite calls down to Yoruichi.]

Not far. The trees get real thin a little further on from where we are now.
