Schuldig + Ankh

[[OOC: Continued from here]]

Schuldig's smile slimmed to a thin line across his face. "You've got some nerve calling me a braggart at the same time you're thinking I'm boring. Maybe you should pick an insult and stick with it, Ankh."

Literally the only thing that kept Schuldig hanging around was an interest in the transformation of some king in armor into a chest of stone. That seemed to indicate this guy had once been the King's servant, so maybe he could be controlled again. The name was referencing that Egyptian Symbol of Life after all - maybe he was the catalyst for those other Greeed in his memories. Schuldig didn't quite have enough context since everything was filtered through the weird mechanical echo he kept hearing.

But Schuldig waited, waited to see if the guy would rise to the bait and figure out he was a telepath all on his own, or if Schuldig would have to try a more literal approach.

"Braggarts are boring especially when they are similar to what you've seen before."

A mind reader? That might explain his insistence of being a god among gods. He had never met one in the past, but he knew there were tricks to keep them from reading one's mind. Would he need to use the tricks to keep his head free of any ridiculous attempt, or should he just assume that he was too alien for a telepath's powers? Never assume; that was what got him into trouble with the king.

"I would be careful of what you try to get," he said, tapping the side of his head with one hooked talon. "Enjoying the memories in there?"

Well that opened up the conversation somewhat. Schuldig chuckled at the question, once he realized that Ankh was talking about himself and his own memories and not just the fact that Schuldig being a God meant he had memories as opposed to shinki who didn't. And hey, the guy was smart enough not to assume - props for that.

"Actually yeah I am," he replied nonchalantly. "They're interesting, I'll give you that. I've seen monsters before, but you Greeed types are on a whole other level." He certainly didn't have to explain the weird ringing he kept getting like sound bouncing around inside of a metal box. That would be tipping his hand. "Toppling kingdoms, fighting against enemies... all very familiar territory. I'd buy a subscription to that channel."

Then he smirked. "Why, were you expecting me to run scared from the horrors there?" Braggart or not, it was because all of that was familiar territory that he wasn't quaking in his shoes.

"There is nothing like us in all the worlds," he said with a jerk of his head. It wasn't bragging. It was just a statement of the facts as he knew it and it was something he had confirmed through his association with others in this place. There might be other monsters, other horrors, but the Greeed were made for one thing and their number never grew.

"I admit that I wouldn't like you to be nosing around too much in there." He didn't care about his origins or exactly what he was getting out to people. He was a monster created from greed who became more. It wasn't a secret worth keeping after all.

"But if you are so willing to do so, I wonder if I should open up your greed and see what comes from it in exchange."

There was a rise of the metallic ringing in his voice, his clawed hand twisting, the fingers holding a large silver coin at eye height.

Schuldig laughed. "You think I'd agree to something so easily? Not a chance. Besides, I'm already about as greedy as they come, or haven't you figured that out yet?" He reached out with a fist of his own and clenched a petal there. "I don't do exchanges."

As curious as he was about the silver coin and what that meant in relation to those Greeed powers, he also had little Weiss kittens to track down, and they were his top priority. His interest had been sated for now.

"Until next time, Ankh." And he teleported away, far to the other side of the picnic. It was so far the most useful new power he'd acquired by a long shot.

"Do you really think I need your permission?"

The slot was there. All he needed was to toss the Cell Medal and it would be over, but he tsks feeling the pull of the greed. The others wouldn't care. They were driven by that one purpose and someone like this guy would be a prime starter for Yummies. He knew better and so he just pulled the Medal back into himself and let the human go.

However, he was going to worry about his two shinki now, especially Eiji. His stupid Rider was not safe around someone who could read him like that. Hissing to himself about how much bother the idiot put him through, Ankh glided to the ground and headed back towards the tables in search of the guy.
