[OPEN] Say it ain't so!

Who: Sora & Roxas, Sora & OPEN
What: Sora wakes up a few days later after Axel is killed and finds out the bad news. Open prompt for visitors or door crashers.
When: April 30 late afternoon and May 1
Where: Lakshmi’s Temple
Warnings: Probably talk of body injuries

[Sora hasn’t woken up in two days.

After escaping Axel with Riku Replica and leaving the fight to Leo and Saix, Sora barely managed to stay alive and make it to Forrest’s temple. Thankfully, Sora did manage to get there with his last ounce of strength with a final teleport.

He lays in a bed in Forrest’s temple. Sleeping and healing slowly thanks to the healing pools. But it’s not only blight Sora suffered so he lays banaged from the bloody wounds he received from the battle as well.]

[ May 1; OPEN ]

[The day after waking up, Sora still can’t walk very much without feeling fatigued. He’s tired and weak and still healing very slowly.

But the bright side is, Sora is awake now and he’ll welcome anyone who wants to come visit him. People probably want answers and Sora might just have them. He currently lays in bed, propped up with pillows and looks really bored.

He’s decided to stay at Forrest’s temple just for a few extra days until he can walk on his own again. There’s bandages up his left arm and on his torso as well. Sora got pretty banged up and it wasn’t just blight.]

[He'll pour a glass and hand it over carefully, barely even glancing at the books.]

I'd rather keep talking, if you're up for it. [He couldn't focus, anyway. And Sora's a chatty person. Maybe it will help.]

[Sora takes it and drinks half of it in one giant gulp.

He gives Nageki another grateful smile. After a moment he decides he still wants to talk about Axel a little.] Axel, I named him because he was saving my life. An ayakashi attacked and I couldn't find Riku and he was right there. If it wasn't for him I'd probably be toast.

I only spoke with him a few times, but he seemed like the sort of person who could come through in a pinch. [He had the raw power for it at least.]

Were you good friends?

[The circumstances of his and Axel's friendship is a little hard to explain. Most of his memories of Axel were the shared ones he had with Roxas. Not directly being friends with Axel, but still friends.]

Yeah we were good friends. Before all this in our home worlds... [Sora laughs,] He saved my life two times before coming here to save my life again. He's was a real hero. I'm really gonna miss him.

He didn't deserve anything like this. [Nageki closes his eyes and sits on the edge of the bed. What could've even happened to make it go so wrong?]

We owe it to him to make sure nothing like this ever happens again.

[Sora feels that familiar sting of grief and loss again and his eyes tear up. He takes a shuddering breath in. He's never lost a friend to death like this before and it hurts.]

Yeah we do. I'm never going to let this happen to you or Riku or anyone else if I can help it. Never again. I don't want to lose a friend ever again.

[He's not good at comforting anyone. He'll just stay where he is. That's the best he can do.]

I won't go anywhere. If I have any choice, I'll stay here.

[He reaches up to rub his eyes and try and stop the tears but he's pretty bad at keeping them in.

He misses Axel already. He's worried about Roxas. He's worried about Axel's other gods and goddesses. He hates being bed ridden.

Just not being alone really helps though.]

[He doesn't know how to move forward. But he hates that Sora is feeling badly. He grips the bedspread with the hand on the side of his body facing away from Sora, trying to figure out something, anything, to help.]

... Is there something I can do?

[It's okay Nageki, Sora is usually okay after he gets it out of his system.

He pulls his knees up to his chest and the tears come harder. Everything is catching up with him again.]

I just wanna get out of here for a while.

[He says after his crying turns into sobs.]

[Nageki moves a little closer, unsure of how to handle this.]

You're still hurt. You need to rest.

[Sora clenches his teeth. That's what everyone has been telling him.

But Sora hates sitting around. He hates it. He doesn't even know what to do with himself right now. Everything hurts. Not just his head and his wounds but all the pain of losing a friend and a shinki too.]

I know that! ... I know.

[He might not remember it, but Nageki knows all the complicated feelings of being bedridden while the world moves around him. It's how he spent most of his life, after all, before getting dragged into Shuu's plans at St. Pigeonations. All he ever wanted in life was to be healthy and helpful. He was always sick. He sympathizes even if he doesn't know why.]

If you're hurt more, we don't know what will happen to you... [Why did he ever get friends? It hurts to watch them hurt.]

[Sora just sobs for a few more minutes before he inhales and rubs his eyes.]

I know I'm just being fussy. I'm sorry... This is just really hard to deal with all at once, you know?

[He doesn't mean to make this awkward for Nageki. He's really an emotional roller coaster right now.]

I'll be fine.

Nobirdie wants to be stuck like this. [He moves his hands to his lap, wondering if he's making things worse. But he buckles down on it.]

If you weren't upset, it would be more worrying.

[He actually lets out a half laugh and half sob at that play on words. It makes him smile too.]

Yeah that's true.

I think after I'm out of here and I can get back to work, do you wanna work on some prayers with me? They're already starting to pile up in my head.

[It's a change of topic slightly, but he's thinking about how he had done prayers with Axel, and that he wants things to somehow go back to normal even if it's in this way.]

[He didn't even mean it. It's just how he talks...]

I'd be glad to. [He folds his hands, thinking about prayers.] I've never done one. I'd like to be useful to you, since you've named me.

[And he.... can't be, right now.]

Never? Really? That's not good.

[That's really surprising to Sora. It only makes him that more glad that Nageki is his shinki now.]

We'll do a lot, then. I want to make sure you can be the strongest you can be. Can you do borderlines?

[Sora's really nurturing with his shinki. The more they can grow the happier he is.]

[Oh boy. Maybe he should've told Sora more about his experiences before he agreed to be named...] I can't. I haven't been able to learn much about being a shinki...

[He's so under experienced. What if Sora gets upset about that? He said it wasn't good. Nageki just really wants to be useful to his friends.]

[Sora would never be upset about Nageki being inexperienced. Never ever. He's thinking more along the lines of he's going to do his best to bring Nageki to his full potential. Hopefully he'll be more open to Sora's desire to help than Riku Replica.]

Then we'll have to get you in some classes! I can show you the basics of how to do it, but I can't cast them myself. Once you get the hang of it you can check with Kazuma to see if he has more room in his training lessons. How about that? Would you like that?

In classes? [He knows he was recommended classes when he first got here. But with no god using him... He hadn't bothered.]

I don't know. Do you think it would work? Do you think Mister Joshua would be okay with it?

I'm sure he'll be more than fine with it! I think you'll be really good at them if you tried.

[Honestly he'd jump right out of bed right now and drag Nageki out into the gardens to start trying if anyone would freaking let him get out of this room for five seconds.]

[Nageki is not letting him out of this room for five seconds so that's not happening.]

You're very confident for never seeing me in battle.

[Sora's really going to go bonkers being held prisoner for so long.]

Why wouldn't I be? Every shinki is good at something.

I suppose it's just refreshing. [From his own pessimism, honestly.]
