[Lightning has had quite a morning. Waking up to a giant white bird standing over her bed, cooing happily, was both welcoming and confusing. The last time she had seen her companion was when the world was ending. She had said her goodbye's to him then.

And now here he was. The Angel of Valhalla himself. Odin. The chocobo was as happy to see Light as she was to see him. Since Hope had suddenly left, it does her heart good to see something familiar other than the crystal flowers.]

[After posting on the network, Lightning has to make sure that her temple grounds weren't littered with things that might attack her visitors. Being a god of death might invite some unsavory visitors. Mostly ghosts, though thankfully anything nasty is confined to the catacombs. Odin follows her around just like back home, checking on the same things she was checking on, anything a normal bird wouldn't do.

When things check out, Light opens the doors and waits for Sora and others. Visitors will see the god, Odin, and the ostrich from hell milling about the garden. Be careful not to fall into the river and stick to the paths.]


[Closed to Pidge]

[When Pidge wakes up, one of the first thing she should notice is a large white bird watching over her. With a soft 'kweeh' he'll just keep watching her until she responds. Preferably with pats to the head and praises on how handsome he is.

Please notice him, little human.]

[That's because she sticks to the paths. That's how Lightning knows how to navigate the place even in the darkness.]

Least I didn't have to send out a rescue party.

[Odin looks to Light first. She shrugs and the chocobo takes that as a sign that this little human can pet him. He lowers his head so it's easier to do so.]

[oathkeeper]

I'd manage one way or another!

[He lets out a happy yelp when the chocobo lowers his head. He pets it and finds the feathers super soft under his fingertips. He grins warmly and then ventures to rub his cheek on the chocobo.]

Hey, he likes me!

[savioring]

[She doesn't doubt it.

Odin lets out a soft 'kweh', deciding it was a good idea to nuzzle Sora back, even if it knocks the kid over.]

Feel lucky. He usually doesn't like anyone but myself.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora laughs warmly and nuzzles the bird right back, giving him gentle scratches. He gets pushes a step back but it only makes him laugh more. Yep, he's probably a beast in battle.]

Easy there, buddy! Thanks, you're pretty great too.

[He smiles at Lightning.] I wanna say it's because I'm Odin's son, but probably not.

[Odin is more than happy with the attention and coos.

Lightning doesn't look too pleased at that admission, crossing her arms and looking away.]

He can probably tell you're a good person and a fighter.

[Or something like that.]

[oathkeeper]

[Well Sora has a new best friend. He's just happy as a clam right now. He takes a second to press his entire face into the birds neck feathers.]

See? He knows best, Lightning. Which means you should definitely teach me things. I think that's the best thing to do.

[savioring]

[You're spoiling him with attention, Sora! Odin might not let you leave or follow you if Lightning doesn't tell him not to.]

Or you can have him teach you. He fought beside me plenty of times, so he knows my style.

[She's kidding. Sort of.]

[oathkeeper]

[He'll stay forever if Lightning lets him, honestly. Snuggling a giant chocobo is oddly therapeutic.]

Really? [He grins at the bird and gives him an affectionate squeeze.] You'll teach me how to kick some major butt, Odin?

[savioring]

[She'll send him home eventually. She doesn't need another kid staying here. Sorry, Sora.

Odin puffs himself up, letting out a trill in approval of his plan. He stomps his feet, letting the talons click against the ground.]

He won't go easy on you just because he likes you.

[oathkeeper]

[If he ever goes home he's gotta figure out how to get his own chocobo. Odin is seriously the best thing ever right now.

He finally lets go of the chocobo and rolls his shoulder. He then summons his keyblade.]

Gimme all you got Odin, take no prisoners!

[Even if it's a giant bird, Sora's not gonna take him lightly. If Lightning is right he's really strong. And he's always open to learn new stuff which includes getting his butt kicked by a giant chicken.]

[savioring]

[Maybe he'll get lucky one day and another chocobo will show up in Light's place.

Unsure, Odin looks at Lightning to see what she thought about this. Light pats the side of his neck.]

Don't kill him. He's a decent kid.

[With a loud wark, the chocobo bounces up and down in excitement before charging at Sora.]

[oathkeeper]

[Hey, that's the best thing she's ever said about him! Queue the victory music!

Sora's not sure how to fight a chocobo, exactly. He's fought all sorts of weird creatures and beasts but there's something different about fighting a chocobo. It's not a monster. But it's not another person with a weapon either.

So he starts off a little messy, bringing his keyblade up to parry Odin's first charge and he jumps back a few paces before lunging into a Flash Step and a three hit combo against it.]

[savioring]

[Odin takes the hits easily. He's been fighting Chocobo Eaters! You gotta hit harder than that! He sends some Fira spells at Sora before charging again. Just before he hits, the chocobo jumps up and tries to slash at Sora with his talons.

They're as sharp as blades. Be careful to avoid them.]

[oathkeeper]

[HOLY the bird can use magic! Sora has to react quickly and casts Reflectga, a dome of light erupting around him in a flash. It should bounce the fire spells right back at the bird in light elemental damage instead.

He then pivots into a Dodge Slash combo, parrying the birds talons and retaliating quickly with fast hard hits. His finishing hit in the combo should launch the bird into the air if not dodged.]

[If a chocobo could be impressed, then Odin would be impressed. He's got someone who's a potential challenge for once!

The hits just make him squawk in indignation. Something else you don't know about Odin? Even when launched into the air, he recovers quickly enough to go flutter over to a new spot to attack from. He hasn't even landed before he throws a Thundara followed by an Aeora spell at Sora. If the cover worked right, Odin will use his jumps to get behind Sora to knock him over.]

[oathkeeper]

[Sora had meant to launch himself into the air to land some aerial combos on the bird but the spells come first and he lands back on the ground as the thunder spell rips through him. He clenches his teeth and is blinded by the aero spell quickly after.

With no sight momentarily, Sora casts Firaga and a whirl of fire erupts around him in a offensive circle.]

Take that!

[savioring]

[Letting out an angry squawk, Odin jumps back and uses a buffing spell on himself. He ruffles his feathers before going back for another attack.

Until Lightning raises her hand and he stops.]

If you two keep going you're going to damage the garden.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora snaps up and stumbles a few steps when Lightning commands, like the command was for him too. He blinks, looking around. And then gives Lightning a sheepish apologetic look.

Seems that no matter the amount of injury Sora takes, his energy is boundless.]

Sorry! Guess I got a little carried away.

[savioring]

[Odin traipses over to Lightning and nuzzles her gently before healing himself. She assesses the damage that the two of them caused.]

I've done worse. The plants will grow back.

[oathkeeper]

[It feels really great to actually get up and run around and fight a little though, however brief. The exercise and movement makes Sora feel great. It really helps him feel like himself. He stretches his arms high above his head and then lets them fall lazily.]

Odin, you're pretty tough! How'd you get so strong?

[He grins at Lightning.]

Thanks for that, I think I kinda needed it.

[savioring]

[Chirping softly, Odin ruffles himself up and stands as tall as he can. He was created to be this strong! After all, he's the Odin. No one else is better than him. Except maybe his friend Lightning.

Light nods.]

You looked pretty down when you came here.

[She could tell even with the smile.]

[oathkeeper]

[Sora scratches his cheek.] Did I?

[Probably. There’s no hiding it with Sora, really. He holds out his hand and casts a curaga spell on himself and lets out a happy sigh as the magic takes effect.]

It’s been a rough last few days. But it feels great to get some exercise in! Seeing a chocobo is the icing on the cake, though.

[savioring]

[Does she have to even answer that? Light knows what that feels like to need an outlet.]

Odin's always here if you need someone to fight. He can get bored rather easily.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora grins. Lightning is really nice under her steely first impressions.]

I might just take you guys up on that offer!

[Shhh. Don't tell anyone else.

The chocobo bounces ups and down a few times, letting out a happy trill. He loves the idea!]
