[open] Music, love, and ramen
Who: Sheryl, Barry (
very_goodman), and YOU
What: Prayer #15
When: May 3rd, late morning/early afternoon
Where: Outside a ramen shop in the Near Shore
Warnings: this is Sheryl we're talking about
[It all started when Sheryl saw a prayer request right by her temple: to save a store from going out of business after receiving little to no customers in weeks. Either people stop by, or the owner must shut it down. Such is the cutthroat world of business: someone can be on top one day, then get discarded, forgotten about, and replaced by the next. While Sheryl hasn't owned a shop in her life, she knows too well the importance of customers — not just for money, but for bringing a little extra something in the lives of people.
... And that's why she and Barry are right in front of a humble ramen shop, dressed in ridiculous animal outfits. Sheryl being, well, Sheryl, she makes sure to make extra adjustments to her attire, exuding both cuteness and sensuality at the same time because as a performer, she knows too well that sex sells. Meanwhile, Barry can be seen next to her with his guitar, fingers strumming along to create strong riffs.
Buh oh, that's not all; she knows that looks alone can only go so far. A pair of strong, well-trained vocal chords on a professional singer can also do the trick, and she's willing to go the extra mile if that means Miss Sachiko's ramen shop can thrive for at least a few weeks... by improvised choreography. It's hard to tell that her moves are improvised on the spot when her feet glide across the pavement without missing a step as she sings her heart out. Despite the upbeat steps, there's a certain grace to the way she moves her arms and legs, a flair for the dramatics with an extra shimmying of her hips to Barry's guitar sounds.
It's over the top, but like Sheryl says, "go big or go home!"]
(OOC: Both Sheryl and Barry will be responding separately!)

So tiring! My feet need some R&R just about now, geez...!

[Barry takes off the big goofy looking dog head and the paw shaped gloves, setting them on the stool next to him as he takes a seat at the counter with Sheryl.]
I'll massage 'em for ya later if ya want. You really worked it out there.

[Lalala, teasing, complete with some laughter bubbling up from out of her. She shifts her position so that her left hand props her face, elbow on the counter.]
I have to give it my all for a potential follower, after all. Thanks for bringing in the instruments, Barry.

[Barry lets out a big belly laugh at Honoka's enthusiasm, practically glowing with pride beneath that stupid dog costume.]
Work hard and you can get gigs like this too someday!
[Not that playing outside a ramen shop is necessarily something to envy.]

Anyway, point is, she's stopped to watch! She's transfixed by how skilled of a performer Sheryl is. Just that! Honest! Okay, honestly, it is mostly that. Such skill! It's quite impressive. Barry's quite a good musician, too.]
no subject
Ah, good to see you again, Patchouli.
[The sight of a familiar audience member evokes a casual smile on her lips, waving at her as she approaches.]
no subject
Anyway. She snaps out of it.]

When they're done, Zoro walks up to his goddess, frowning, arms crossed in front of his chest.]
Cover up, lady.

But I am covered up! It's not like I'm wearing a bikini in the middle of spring.
[Sheryl will just... purse her lips and rest both hands on her waist.]

Still, he fusses over his shinki and they're starting to run out of food. So he figured a quick stop to the grocery store wouldn't go awry, even without one of his shinki with him. He has them on quick dial if it comes down to that.
He hasn't actually seen Sheryl in a while, despite her being one of the first people he met when he arrived. He's been busy with this or that, worried over events and dealing with his partners.
It's hard to ignore music and a performance like that. She really is a professional, the way she moves, the way she dances, that speaks to a whole lot of practice, and that's something he can always appreciate. Even if that outfit is definitely making him blush.
Still he claps politely as she finishes for the moment.]
That was great. ... Are you on a prayer?
[He's pretty sure which one this is, having done something similar a few days ago. Still, he feels like they should've just prayed to Sheryl in the first place, she seems much better suited to this kind of thing.]
no subject
Quickly, Sheryl walks over to him, the slightest bounce to her step as she smiles and waves.]
Deku! Nice to see you again! How have you been all this time?
[And to answer his question, she nods.]
I got Miss Sachiko's prayer just this morning, so I convinced Barry to come along.
no subject
Nice to see you too. Um... pretty busy. I've been picking up prayers and getting used to my partners.
You're a good team for something like this!

With the shades hiding his eyes, he's watching Sheryl's performance without much open reaction, or even letting slip if he's following her movements. When she finishes up, though, one side of his mouth curls into a very slight grin, and he claps his taloned, feathery hands a few times.]
Didn't realise we had a fucking talent show happening out here today, I would've busted out the turntables. [Looking over to Barry, he raises an eyebrow a bit.] Also didn't expect the next time I saw you would be in a massive dog suit, but you know, I can't really talk animal shenanigans without setting a fire under my own ass.

[Better to go over the top than to go for the forgettable route, especially when it comes to wearing costumes. Sheryl is too aware that sometimes, one must rely on image to save a business; Miss Sachiko ought to give her and Barry a nice paycheck, she jokingly thinks.
Upon seeing a guy with shades and bright neon orange wings and ruffs, she immediately assumes it's a costume and approaches him with a faint bounce to her step.]
There seems to be a trend going around in this district. Are you doing your prayers, too? Anyway, hi! [She waves hello and makes a light flourish of her arms, presenting the ramen shop.] Welcome to Ramen-ko, where homemade noodles reign supreme!

He just also happened to notice Sheryl and her friend dancing while walking past. Do people like wearing miqo'te ears? And what was that dance? He wasn't scoffing, only curious.
Not like that he will say anything. It would be pretty rude to speak during a performance.]
no subject
Did you like what you saw?
[She means the performance between herself and Barry, but with the playful tone that she uses, well... it can be misinterpreted as something else.]
