(Open) Well hello world
Who: Masaki and you!
Where: Near shore town, Tezcatlipoca's temple Near Shore, Calico cat cafe
When: May 9-10
What: Masaki slowly getting the ropes with cleaning up and exploring the Near Shore.
Warnings: TBA
May 9, the Near Shore:
A: Outside Tezcatlipoca's temple morning:
[Perhaps you were visiting the area; perhaps it was on the way to your own temple. Either way, there comes in sight a young woman, who has found some improvised tools to give the Near Shore Temple a good cleaning up. She wasn't dressed as a priestess-she was wearing pretty modern clothing in fact-but noticing the company, she perked right up.]
Oh, hello! Have you come for a visit?
[Her smile was bright and girlish, nevermind that she might have looked like a bit of a mess.]
I didn't realize we'd have people coming by!
[Do they even have supplies for gods and shinki visits? Like tea and cookies? Ah...she can't remember...]
B: Within the surrounding town afternoon/evening:
i: Benches
[She'd been going around, trying to get a good idea of how the area was but...yeah, she had to stop, and watch the people go by for a bit. She felt tired, and she didn't quite realize why until she saw someone go by with food. From the near drooling, she remembered.
She hadn't eaten since she arrived. Drank water, but eat? She didn't know if she could. Or had to.
But when the next person went by, her stomach gurgled. Loudly. What a mess...]
ii Music Store
This is...music?
[It mostly had movies, items related to that and music, but there were head phones too, and codes they said for downloading music. What was downloading? Why would you want to download music? She was baffled.
But they had music samples. She tentatively put on the headphones, and listened for a few moments, her expression becoming...more or less baffled.
She gave a wave of her arm, trying to catch attention.]
Hey, have you ever heard music like this before?
[She'll offer up the headphones, eyes gleaming. She's learning something today.]
C: May 10, Morning, Cat Cafe Calico:
[Since she didn't know about the whole prayer system per se, she wanted to make sure that there would be grocery money. She didn't know what Dio liked, but she was going to make sure of one thing: she wasn't going to put too much pressure on her god. So she looked for work on and off yesterday, and found...well. A cat cafe.
Which was something she had never heard of before, and found amazing. So she applied, and when they figured out she was there, she had an interview on the spot and...found herself surprisingly hired.
So this was her first day. She was in a cute dress, and wearing cat ears (because for some reason one of the other servers thought it would be a good idea if she wore them) and was going around, beaming. It hadn't taken long to get the gist of what she was supposed to be doing.]
Nya, welcome to Calico! How may I serve you today ♥?
D: Choose your own adventure!

Hmm? Music?
[He gave the stuff she offered a listen, making all sorts of expressions before settling on a look of intrigue.]
What's that one called?
[He grinned at her, pointing at the headphone he was practically yelling over.]
no subject
She kind of hoped that Dio wanted one of them, and that they would be able to get that-and cable-in the future someday. Though if Joseph got one she'd visit all the time.]
Ah...
[Wow he had a big voice.]
Pon pon pon? I think!
[And she had to shout so he'd be able to hear her too. What a funny couple of people they were.]
no subject
For now, he was just a weirdo yelling in a music store. The both of them were.]
It's... oh my god, it's repeating--!
[He had the most confused and baffled look on his face. What is. Why is. Oh god. The worst part was that he was absolutely going to have this stuck in his head, because of the obviously repetition.]
no subject
And they're going to get noticed like the weirdos they are.]
Well, yeah! That's how the song goes? You can take off the headphones or stop the music if you want!
[You know...in case it was really disturbing him that much.]
no subject
Still, he handed the headphones back to her after that, and felt his ears since that had been a new experience too. This technology!]
I don't really think that's my thing. [He said, already hearing it becoming an earworm that he could barely understand.] Did you like it?
[It certainly wasn't anything like...that song she'd sung to him, at another time, in another place.]
no subject
She took the headphones back, and started to fiddle around with the buttons again. Music! This was fun!]
I'm not sure! It's different, and it's not...well. Nothing feels familiar, but I think I need to get used to the music around here. And everything! It's kind of neat, how much music they let you hear.
They have like...Spanish guitars, and reggae, and stuff from years ago that's not classical! It's so cool!
no subject
There's so much.... I don't even know what a "reggae" is! Or a.. [He picked up a CD from a nearby shelf, examining the cover.] ...what is a rap?

She did and did not want to head back to her temple and everyone else.
However, the noise of a stomach growling does catch her attention. She stops and turns to find the source, instead seeing a girl about her age sitting...
She chews her lip for a second before: ]
Um... Are you... Is everything all right?
no subject
[She feels a little (a lot) embarrassed. She's pretty sure that her stomach sounded like an engine turning over, and she presses her hands against it. As if that would ensure it wouldn't make anymore noises that would give her hungry status away.]
I'm okay! Just a bit hungry, but it's okay!
[Hunger was supposed to help you focus, right? Or she hoped it did.]
no subject
[Hinata believes that much. There's no way that growl could mean anything else. She bites her lip as she glances between her groceries, the girl before her, and her feet.]
Um.. I was just about to go and get something to eat if you... Well, that is, if you wanted to join me?
no subject
But the offer has Masaki brighten up a bit.]
Yes! I'd like that. Very much.
[She stands up, and offers a polite bow.]
Thank you for letting me join you.
May 10, Morning, Cat Cafe Calico
[He'd come for the cats, but holy crap, being greeted like that by such a cute girl made his heart stop in his chest. Shit. Is this love? This must be love, because he can't ever feeling like this before.]
Hey there, pretty kitty. [he croons, reaching for her hands with a charming smile on his face] My name is Kazuma Kuwabara, and I think you just stole my heart.
no subject
[She more or less stumbled on the job, herself. But considering that the temple had an association with cats (though big cats, but still cats) she had to apply when she found the place.
But she did not expected to be hit on right away. Or charmed. A blush settled on her face, until it clicked. She'd read that name before. Kazuma Kuwabara. Oh! Right!]
I don't know about that. I think Moonstone might have already taken it.
[She smiled up at him, not minding that he was holding her hands now that she knew who it was. It was charming, sweet, and flirtatious. Just Kuwabara.]
no subject
[he squeezes her hands before letting go, dropping his head and rubbing his neck with a sheepish laugh] Man, I feel like such a dummy, I never even bothered to get your name! But I was right about one thing, you're super specially cute!
no subject
Yeah, that's me!
[She clapped her hands once, laughing a little with him. It was kind of funny!]
But it's all right, we were kinda busy chatting and flirting. Sorry for not saying my name before.
[Geez. She had to shake her head; he was making her blush come back.]
I guess I'm a big surprise then! I'm Masaki by the way. Masaki Kurosaki.
no subject
I really like the ears, by the way! [he grins broadly, putting at his own head to indicate her headband] They look super cute on you, you're lucky they're not real or I'd be tempted to pet them! [he chuckles with a wink]
no subject
I would have thought I was a little one.
[She grins; she has no problem making fun of her height. She knows she's small, especially in comparison.]
Thanks! One of my co workers got it for me. Maybe I'll let you pet them anyway, if you ask nicely.
[Her smile widens. Her, tempted to make him blush? Never.]
no subject
[He jerks back quickly at her offer of petting her ears, though]
Oh gosh, really? [She wanted him to blush? She got him to blush, and he's looking around like he can't believe this is actually happening to him.] You'd really let me pet 'em?

C because meet ur grumpy butt coworker
Occasionally, though, he has to venture out into the main floor of the cafe, on this particular occasion following an adventurous kitten who isn't quite old enough to be safely out on the rounds with the other cats. Striding briskly over to pick up the tiny cat before it gets too close to the door, Shun is about to retreat back behind the counter without a word before he catches sight of the girl in cat ears. She might be new, but Shun doesn't tend to reserve his opinions regardless of experience, and his first remark is more than a little brusque, the kitten wriggling in his arms as he levels the girl with a rather flat look.]
What the hell is that supposed to be? [He tilts his head towards the cat ear headband.]
kurosaki, meet kurosaki
And people seemed to like her friendly service, even if they forgot her quickly-much like they did most wait staff, funny enough. But she didn't realize that others from the Far Shore would be working here too.
Made sense actually. From what she'd noticed, the lot of them were cat lovers.]
Eh? This?
[She points to the cat headband.]
One of the girls stuck it on my head. Said something about...advertising? I think? Or something about upping the moe in here...?
kurosaki squared
Leaving the kitten to climb out of his arms and up his shoulder - not that it looks particularly comfortable when the sleeveless shirt he's currently wearing doesn't leave a great deal of loose fabric to prevent claws digging into skin - he gives her a brief glance up and down like he's weighing her up.]
Good thing they didn't try that with me, or we'd be short a staff member and a table. [He doesn't word it like a threat, or even particularly aggressively. It's just stated like neutral fact that that's what would've happened if someone tried to put cat ears on him like that.] When did you get here, anyway? I've never even seen you in here before.
double the kurosaki, double the fun?
No, I think they might have wanted to give you a tail.
[She says it as neutrally as possible. Which is difficult, considering that she's trying hard not to picture him with one. He wouldn't wear it of course, but it's an amusing idea.]
I got here a few days ago. Pretty much on the same night when the area got all weird and there was that inscription in the park.
[She tilts her head.]
Have you been here a long time?
shun probably cancels out any extra fun involved look at him
They could do with minding their own business. It's not as if I work where anyone would see it, anyway.
[And he doesn't see why anyone would particularly want to see him with a cat tail, so there's that to consider.
As soon as she describes the night she arrived, Shun gives an understanding nod.]
A month before that, there was a smaller-scale incident at a school that had the same side-effect. I arrived during that one.
so much for that double mint gum
Maybe it was for our co workers to see? And something for the kittens to pounce on.
[Considering...well. Anyhow, she nods, lighting up a little at the mention of the high school.]
Ah! Yeah, Sora mentioned that one. Something about a jello monster?
who needs double mint when you have double srs bsns
Shun does not look anywhere near as happy about this as the kitten does, and he makes a derogatory spitting sound through his teeth at Masaki's words.]
It's not like I talk to them. They shouldn't care whether I'm wearing some stupid tail or not. And the kittens don't need any encouragement.
[As probably evidenced by the current state of his head.]
It did look a lot like that, I'll admit. It was the strangest ayakashi I've seen so far.
i dunno, does it give you fresh breath?
probably not tbh
