[Closed] Take a Moment, Remind Yourself
Who: Dio, Joseph, and Masaki
What: Dio is getting used to this whole 'shifting into felines' thing, and he hasn't seen such nice-looking water in over a year.
Where: Tezcatlipoca's Jungle
When: May 9th, evening
Warnings: Dio attempting to drown Joseph a little??? Some minor blood(from big cat scratches), maybe, but nothing else for the time being.
Dio had a great time not long ago on the Near Shore in cat form. As sleepy as he'd been with the mix of supernatural activity and sunlight, he had awoken to being pet and cuddled, and that was strange but not wholly unpleasant. He probably shouldn't take a jaguar form in the midst of humans, even if they were likely to miss him. Just in case.
Still, he wanted to stretch his 'transforming' muscles, and so that found him running about near his temple in the shape of a jaguar, checking out how everything looked and smelled in this body. The large feline lifted it's head, sniffing about the air as he went before happening upon the waterfall he'd overlooked before. There was a stick floating in the water... how enticing!
Dio the vampire wouldn't jump into the water after a stick, but Dio the jaguar bounded into the water after the stick, not really paying attention to much as he attempted to grab the stick with his paws first and then with his mouth. He ended up getting it between his teeth and pulled himself out of the water, only to toss the stick back in and follow it with another leap. This was... fun?

Teleporting made him somewhat ill for the time being, but he was sure pleased it was a possibility. He hoped his tolerance would pick up the pace soon. But here he was, Tezcatlipoca's temple, and what a dark, shadowy neck of the woods it was. There was the flitting of something around the area that Joseph caught and followed with his eyes, right up to seeing the big cat play in the water.
It was curious to see, and that's what had him coming closer, on a hunch, eyes trained on the big cat that hadn't yet noticed his presence. His hand covered his mouth, trying not to laugh. If it saw him now, they'd lock their sights like that for sure.

She had found Dio sometime around the bug catching, and silently followed him to the waterfall, perching on some rocks nearby. She cwas happy to watch him, just glad that he was enjoying himself so much.
She heard and sensed Joseph before she saw him. He looked rather amused with Dio, it seemed. She waved in Joseph's direction, and motioned a finger to her lips. Looked like she wanted Dio to keep his playtime.
no subject
He hadn't really noticed anyone watching him up until he stepped out of the waterfall and shook himself off somewhat. It was Joseph he spotted, and immediately Dio's mind went to Hermit Purple. Had he come looking for him...?! And then he saw...!!!
Dio flattened his ears as he looked at Joseph, letting out a snarling roar. It was just the first noise to come to mind, despite his usual go-to. After that, he pounced after Joseph. As ferocious as he might look, he didn't have any harm in mind, but he certainly wanted to scare Joseph... and maybe drag him into the water as well.
no subject
And you know what, that was enough for Joseph to nope real quick out of this nature documentary, right back into reality where there was an actual jaguar (leopard? cheetah? Large cat!!) suddenly coming right for him after roaring. There were not a lot of options presented to him after that sort of display. Joseph, naturally, chose the 'getting the hell out of there' option.
"Holy shit-" He practically stumbled out of the brush he'd been hiding in, getting a rough start to his escape but otherwise running for it. "I don't want your stick or your water, you can have it all!"
no subject
(She hoped so. Purring cats!)
But Dio didn't like being spied on, Joseph was running which she thought that was the wrong thing to do. Didn't cats like to pounce on prey? Maybe? She didn't know cats!
"Joseph! Don't-Dio! He just came to visit!" Her voice rose in distress. "Stop!"
She had no idea if he heard her or not. That roar sounded pretty ticked off.
no subject
Running was probably not the smartest choice either, no. He'd heard Masaki call out, but since he knew he wasn't out to hurt Joseph, he wasn't slowing down, leaping once he got close enough to attempt tackling Joseph to the ground.
If he got him, his teeth would attempt to then find purchase on his clothing to begin the process of dragging Joseph back to the water.
no subject
There was a great, undignified Joestar noise upon the beast catching up with and pouncing him, but by then he'd heard Masaki call out Dio's name. This was Dio, then. "Dio? Dioooooo--" It drew out into more yelling when he started to be dragged by his poor clothes. He wobbled and reached for dirt and rocks to keep from being pulled, but each time his grip or the item itself came loose.
He was somewhat less terrified knowing it wasn't exactly a wild animal hauling him to the water, but it was still Dio.
no subject
Masaki stood up properly, the pieces clicking. Dio was just having fun with Joseph then. But...he was a visiting god. And while he had kind of intruded, and he was an old friend(? sort of) this wasn't a very good way to greet anyone.
Masaki propped her hands on her hips and huffed loudly.
"You're just going to do whatever you want, aren't you?" She eyed the jaguar, grumpy because of the scare. Yeah, give her a moment, she's going to take off her shoes and socks and wade into the water, because it looked like Joseph was about to get dunked.
Don't worry Joseph, she'll rescue you, really.
no subject
He only let go of him once Masaki entered the water, looking to her and giving another playful sounding rumble.
"I don't like him sneaking up on me!" He gave a huff and shook his head, then turning back to Joseph to try to dunk him again. "What if I had been a wild animal, you asshole?!"
no subject
Joseph would have given Masaki a warm greeting too, were the circumstances different. Instead, he wrapped his arms around Dio's neck as soon as he tried to dunk him a second time, trying to drag him down instead. "Well, asshole, a wild animal can be tamed temporarily with the Ripple, and that would've been my next move, if I hadn't found out it was you." Could his hamon hurt Dio in this form? Dio probably didn't want to find out.
Sorry about the two of them likely wrestling in the water, Masaki. With any luck, she probably won't get splashed.
no subject
There was something cute about Dio's pleased rumble-clearly it was all right if she was there, he might have been aware of her for awhile-but he was back to wrestling with Joseph. Clearly, the god of love and the god of night were good friends. Sort of.
"So you're both assholes then?" She wanted to know. The Ripple? That must have been the thing he did with the water before. She waded a little further, but stopped, seeing as...large man, large animal...she'd be squished, even if they didn't mean to.
Her arms stayed folded under her chest as she watched them go at it.
"If that's what you two want to be called, I'll just address you both as asshole-sama from now on."
She thought that might startle them to stop messing around. Though if they wanted to keep going at it, she was just going to go back inside. Since, well. She was going to get splashed and dragged in otherwise.
She wasn't mad. Just sassing and trying to figure out what was up with these two.
no subject
Dio had to stop his rough-housing when Joseph got hold of his neck, the jaguar huffing before getting pulled underwater and letting out some bubbles while he was under water. It was surprisingly not terrible, but perhaps a lack of needing to breathe would do that.
"D-don't!!!" Dio exclaimed at the threat of Hamon. He didn't know if it'd work in this form but he didn't want to find out. If Joseph or Masaki looked carefully, he still had his neck scar from his previous Hamon encounter, even now, though it was partially obscured by fur. "You know this is my territory!!!" At that, Dio's struggling to be released was renewed, paws held up and batting at the Joestar.
If he managed to get free, he was just going to leap out of the water for now, trying to get away from Joseph's hands.
no subject
Joseph wouldn't zap him here and now, especially not in water of all things. Dio would need to do something horrible to deserve his Hamon. "No! Masaki I--" The large cat paws batting at him distracted him yet again, and boy were they large. Enough to get him to lessen his grip and let the jaguar go free, since he wasn't trying that hard to keep him held. "Asshole is such a strong word."
He made his way to the water's edge, sitting there for a moment, already lamenting his clothes being completely drenched and dirty now. Maybe he could ask to use their laundry machines, if they had such a thing. "Hahhh, whew, I'm definitely awake now. Dio, I'm not actually gonna use my Hamon, you can come back and continue playing with your stick if you want. I won't bother you." After one or two seconds of thought, he tacked on, "Masaki thought it was cute."
no subject
Masaki would have been happy to scold sass them a little more, but the alarm that Dio had-over something to do with sunshine? Didn't make sense to her.
"Dio? Dio it's okay, he's not going to do anything."
She hopped, rather then walked, because it made getting over to the edge easier, and knelt in front of her god, her hands going to her fur. Gentle, concerned attention, which might even become a hug, if Dio allowed it.
"And yet you both call each other asshole pretty easily." Her voice went tart again, as her gaze flickered Joseph's way. And she shrugged, looking down at the jungle floor.
"....I just like seeing him happy." Her voice went quiet, even shy, as if she was trying not to admit something. A crush? No, never. "A-anyway..."
Maybe she should just offer up her shower so Joseph could clean up and she could do his laundry. She had a feeling she had opened herself up for a world of teasing.
no subject
Why was he so... bothered right now? Not in the annoyed sense, but more in the 'trying not to be aroused' sense. Water was certainly not a turn on, not after so many decades spent perpetually drowning.
"I wasn't... playing!" He huffed back, and if he were human-shaped right now he'd be turning bright red, but he let Masaki get her hands into his wet fur, and hug him if she wanted.
"I was... practicing." Practicing his all-important 'pouncing on things in the water' technique.
He huffed once more, turning to Masaki and nudging her with his pink nose in a sort of reassuring gesture. "I'm not really that worried. Joseph knows better than to actually do anything like that." At least, he hoped so. But for right now he was having trouble really thinking straight. Had that little bit of wrestling really affected him so much?
no subject
This was a cat who Masaki wanted to see happy, and he only felt a little guilty for the look she gave him.
Was it just Joseph, or did it seem like Dio was still upset? Or...something. It wasn't until he fully stood from the pool and tried to wipe the water and debris from his skin that he realized he'd forgotten all about his god power in their tussle. Uhhhhh.
Maybe it was fine, since Dio wasn't in his regular body. He...hoped.
"I, uhm, you know, it's good when people are happy. That's why I was watching too!" Even though he thought it was just a normal animal, but shh. "Anyway, you got all worked up 'practicing' and made me forget. I brought you both some things."
He made his soggy way over to the bush where he'd been hiding, pulling a small backpack out of the foliage and rummaging through it. "Though now I don't know if they'll work." 'Hmm'ing as he made sure it was all there.
no subject
Or at least in ways that neither god would be able to handle. At least, not for the first five seconds.
"I'm sure he wouldn't hurt you, that would be counter productive." She said softly, hugging and gently nudging her forehead against Dio's head. And thmn she remembered that Joseph could see. And Dio wasn't actually a cat. She turned red, and let go, making to draw herself upright with another hop.
A hop that made her skirt flare, but she didn't seem to notice.
"Right! It's good when people are happy, of course! You...brought us stuff? That's really sweet of you Joestar. You didn't need to bring us anything, but thank you so much!"
She didn't have a crush, what are you talking about. She was just talking to a hot god and another hot god who was currently a cat. Yeah.
no subject
Oh, but Masaki's face was pressed against his and he couldn't help give a happy rumble that was almost like a purr at that. It did nothing to help his other problem, Dio wishing he could just lean forward and kiss her in the water, his chest pressed up against hers...
He gave a snort and shook his head when she let go of him, her face as red as it was.
"What're you doing bringing us things, Joseph?" Dio asked after a moment, not terribly sure how to react, but he just watched Joseph for now, taking a seat in order to keep himself as modest as possible.
no subject
"I can't help it, I made a few stops, a short tour, you could say." He means he went to the Near Shore, definitely New York, Italy, Switzerland... It was hard to hide the disappointment when he mentioned the stops he made, because he obviously didn't find what he'd been looking for. "I got you gifts because... you know, no real reason. I can get things for people without there being some deep meaning behind it." Uh-huh.
Shoving that aside, he approached them both, backpack back over his shoulder and gifts in his hands. For Dio, it was a small, spiked cat collar with a bell, sized more for his bengal form. There was also a satchel tied off and filled with catnip in the same hand.
For Masaki, there's a plain looking box with a string tied around it to keep it secure. Writing indicates that the box is from a bakery in Italy, and apparently an old one. Inside, there are assorted handmade chocolates, with varying flavors.
"Hope you've got a sweet tooth Masaki. I wouldn't recommend eating them all at once, though." And after handing her the chocolates, he held up the collar to Dio, and suffered a short sigh. "As for you, you were cuter when I had this idea."
no subject
But. moving on. She was thankful that Joseph had offered a topic change, even if she was going to have to see about getting his clothing washed and his body showered. She just hoped Dio was up to sharing his clothes.
When Dio changed back, would he be naked? Oh. Oh God. She really did not want to know.
"A sweet tooth...? Joseph...." She bit her lip, staring down at the box. This was sweet. She felt touched. Dio had been spoiling her, with clothing, food, and attention. Especially attention. And she enjoyed it, a lot. But chocolates from Italy? He might have just picked them up on the way, but it was super nice.
And really nice for him to get Dio something too. She didn't notice the satchel.
"Thank you. I don't know if I have a sweet tooth, but I'm sure I'll love it." It was a little awkward because it. Well. It was a gift. But she didn't try to read too much into it, instead turning to Dio with a smile.
"Dio, Dio, we should try to find the place Joseph went! Oh, Joseph, did you eat too many chocolates? Did you get sick?"
Gods don't poop and they can get sick. Who knew!
no subject
"Excuse you, Joseph, I am that cute all of the time!" he responded, offended. It wasn't really offended, but still, Joseph bought him... cat stuff. It was only then that he realized that Joseph hadn't seen him as himself since he got here, so he supposed thinking that he was stuck in that form was slightly warranted.
Without any further protest, he took the things from Joseph, looking over the collar first before curiosity struck him with the tied-off package. "Ah... wha- what is that?"
It smelled pretty good, but not in any way Dio was familiar with. It was kind of minty, even from the distance he was at.
no subject
But then, hands in front of junk or no, there's not much that can prepare you for suddenly seeing someone standing nude before you. But there he was.
Joseph's eyes bugged out for a moment before he quickly regained his composure, coughing into his closed hand. Hiding a little extra down there, Dio? "I'll give you that you're...cute..." Was that the word for it? God he's so conflicted right now, put some damn clothes on.
Thankfully, Dio asked a question, and Joseph could focus on that instead! "That's a little something cats really like. You should give it a good, strong whiff when you're furry again." He didn't know if it'd affect him now, like this.
no subject
Though seeing Dio turn into himself...naked...welp. That answered that question. She blushed, flustered, but took a few moments to glance Dio over and particularly linger on his back end, before turning around.
She didn't think he'd mind she took a good long look at that.
"Cute is too light of a word for what you are normally." Masaki murmured. Go ahead, turn back into a cat or...whatever Dio, she's having a great time.
no subject
They were both being incredibly rude. They weren't supposed to agree with him about being cute! He'd get up and stomp off, but he just remembered that he was nude and Masaki was just behind him, so he gave a little grumble and set his gifts aside. His face had turned redder, and he decided he would take his cat form again. The smaller, presumably cuter one.
He shook himself off somewhat, then looking up to Joseph. "Well..." he started, standing up and walking a little nearer. "Adorn me."
Hey, he wanted to collar him, so let him do the legwork. Besides, it's not like Dio has any hands like this. "And then I guess we could get your clothes washed or something." Though he wasn't sure he deserved it.
no subject
"Adorn you? It's not a crown, dummy." Even so, Joseph kneeled down on one knee and held the collar up and around Dio's neck. Seemed to fit well enough! It's a good thing Joseph didn't just buy one in every size to make sure. That's a stroke of luck.
"There. What do you think, Masaki?" He knew she'd gotten a show, and from what he could tell she had been just f i n e with that. Maybe he should egg her on a little more. "I'm afraid it means he's technically clothed now. Technically."
The little bag of catnip was held in his hand, dormant for now. But soon it would serve its nefarious purpose.
no subject
Masaki peeked carefully, blew out a breath, and turned around, still holding onto the box of chocolates. A spiked collar with a bell...that was just adorable.
"I think Dio looks fierce. You might poke me a little if you decide to climb onto my lap or something for a cuddle though." She laughed, not minding in the least, even as she glanced Joseph's way. "It's a collar. I don't think that clothes Dio. It just makes him more of what he is."
Oh yes, she heard that tease. And she was going to nibble but not bite.
"I think Dio mentioned you getting washed up? You can use my shower while I'm doing your laundry."
And yes. She'd see his underwear. Maybe.
no subject
Oh well.
His tail shot up as he walked around in a circle. "I'll help you", he didn't offer, he insisted, heading back toward the temple, leading them on. He could use some cleaning as well.
Masaki could see his underwear, Dio wanted to get Joseph in the nude. It'd been a little while, though Dio hadn't felt his power waning... he just wanted to get some contact.
no subject
"That's awfully hospitable of you both, thanks." He caught on to Dio's insistence pretty quickly, raising a brow after the cat made his circle to head towards the temple. After what Joseph was sure was a dose of his own divine power, it was bound to come up.
He didn't protest, instead walking along after and glancing over at Masaki to quietly gesture at her bossy cat god. Luckily, noticing the structure kept him from continuing any more of that.
"Quite the temple," he said, as they approached. "Though something about it gives me the creeps." Could be the smell.
no subject
It might be too cute.
"Nevermind!" She said brightly, even as she followed her god, glancing Joseph's way. His gesture only made her grin. Yes, he was most certainly Dio.
"It's not so bad. Actually-once you're ready, why don't we give you a tour? It won't take long."
And she could light up some incense again. "Or Dio can. I think he wants to chat. Maybe he's missed your company?"
She meant that in the most innocent way possible. It's not that her company was lacking, but friends were always nice.
no subject
"Mh. It's been strange..." not having Joseph sleeping in his bed with him, but he couldn't say that, could he? Maybe, but better safe than sorry. "... not having you around as often."
He stopped outside the door, not currently having the means to open it, nor wishing to stand in all of his nude glory in front of Masaki again.
no subject
"Ooh, a tour!" Means he could carry the catnip with him in a pocket, because he'd be clothed...probably. Considering the place he wanted to plant it was right under Dio's pillow, this would be a task. He could ask Masaki to do it, but, well, she might not be hip on his pranks, and he didn't want to look bad in front of her. Even though the prank itself was his most innocent yet!! "Sure, I could stand to know my way around."
Sounded like Dio missed his company, and it hasn't even been that long since this whole god ordeal began. Joseph would have laughed, if he himself weren't in a similar, lonesome boat. "A chat to catch up, hm?"
He may have been the guest, but he got the door anyway, giving the other two entry and planning to follow after.
no subject
"Thanks." She smiled up at Joseph, walking in with Dio. Maybe she should put her chocolates in her room. Or in the kitchen? Really, it depended on what she should do first.
Laundry, she decided, then kitchen.
"We can have him around for meals. It'd be easier for me to cook." Masaki offered. They'd all win that way, wouldn't they? "Here Joseph, let me show you to my room. Er, shower."
Blocking them both from easy access to Dio's room for pranks and long chats. What a pity.
no subject
For now, he was content to follow them around, careful not to stay in the path of Joseph's big feet and avoid tangling himself up in Masaki's legs. "Would you want that, Joseph...? Coming around to have Masaki feed you?" he asked, looking up at him. If a cat could, he'd be giving the man a smirk. Of course he'd want to be over to see Masaki more, right? And then he could spend some time with Dio too.
Speaking of time spent with Dio, he was still following along toward the shower. He was going to do his best to get in something quick if he had to, but it was a little difficult with Masaki there. It was so weird still, trying to hide things from her.
no subject
"I wouldn't turn down a homecooked meal if you're inviting me and all..." Time spent with Masaki, time spent with Dio, he wouldn't be against it. It's not like he wasn't already going to be keeping up with the two of them anyway.
But, they made it to her shower, and Joseph turned towards them both and eeeever so sneakily stuck the catnip somewhere directly behind him for safe keeping, maybe on a shelf or something. "So, uh, where should I leave my clothes, and where are the towels?"
no subject
"Great! Then I'll start pestering you for what you like." She giggled, hugging the box of chocolates to her chest. "I can take your clothes-just leave them outside the door. Actually...Dio, would you mind giving Joseph the spare towels? There should be some in there, but I think there's some fresh spares in your bathroom."
She paused, thinking, then nodded. "Yeah, they're in your bathroom."
She could be wrong, but she's pretty sure she left them in there when she did the linen laundry.
no subject
"I'll bring them in, Joseph. Feel free to just start the shower up."
He'd have to turn back into his human form for it, too. No one really wants a furry towel, and he probably couldn't carry it very well that way. Either way, he turned away, trotting off towards his room. He wasn't planning on turning back naked in front of Masaki again right now.
no subject
But he was being ushered to get started with his shower, told to leave his clothes outside the door, and expected to trust in Dio to bring him his towels. "Alright, I'll leave the fate of my clothes to your cleaning magic." He'd never washed clothes, so it was all magic as far as he was concerned. "Don't try to peek, now."
When the both of them had left the room for their respective reasons, Joseph stripped of his boots and gloves first, then quickly removed everything else, stopping only a moment to unbuckle and slide out his belt. He sat his clothes outside the door just like he was told and moved straight into getting the shower started.
Ahhhh, the hot water felt great, even if it would eventually steam up Masaki's bathroom.
no subject
"It's not magic silly. But I'll try not to." She winked, and went off to put the chocolates in the kitchen, and start up the washer for Joseph's clothes. It wouldn't be a bad idea for her to do her own, but she'd left her socks and shoes behind. She wanted to get those before putting in a load for herself.
Prep work done, she came up to her bathroom door in time to hear the shower running. And...for a moment, she had the odd shiver, staring at the door. Like she wanted to peek in, or join him.
She shook herself, and hurried to grab Joseph's clothes and out of the room. One crush was bad enough. She didn't even know what to call this.
