Who: Lightning, Natsuru, and you
Where: Near Shore
When: May 11th
What: Prayer #15, so Natsuru in a cute outfit and Light just being Light
Warnings: None yet
[Sweetshop!]
[Lightning has finally decided that it was high time to do a prayer with her shinki. Natsuru is picked first since she’s the more skittish of the two, and it’ll be their gods first prayer as well. The prayer entailed helping a failing business get back into business. So, Lightning took it. Too bad the place seemed to be exactly what she didn’t want to work. Lightning loves to eat, but how is she supposed to sell sweets?
At least she has the amusement of sticking her shinki in an outfit that would detract from her own uniform.
Come one, come all to this shop and harass these two young women. Or just buy stuff and help them get through this.]

After a while she sits back on the table as she waits for her order, then once it's been made, she instantly perks up. With a bright smile on her face, she takes the mocha-flavored brownies.]
Thank you so much! [Of course she's going to make some small chat now that Lightning is here] Is this where you'll be working for now on, or is that for a prayer?
no subject
Prayer. My shinki is the one out front in that ridiculous outfit.
[Not sorry at all about that.

[She follows Lightning's line of vision, arching an eyebrow at the girl from outside and— whoa. What a bright outfit! Quickly hovering a hand over her mouth, Sheryl will do her best to stifle the laughter that threatens to burst out. Is she successful? Well...
Maybe imagining Lightning in that outfit is not a good idea.]
That poor girl! She should have chosen a different outfit to get more customers.
no subject
I picked it out for her. She arrived in an outfit much worse than that when I first met her.
[Sequins anyone? At least Natsuru could pull this off as well. What's the harm in torturing the girl some? It's not like Natsuru ever turns Light down on anything. Must be trying to please her god.]
And it's actually drawn quite a few men in.

[If it were up to Sheryl, she'd lengthen the skirt a little, give it more volume, and add another color to complement the dress. Either way, it doesn't take long for a mischievous glint to appear in her eyes.]
Well, there is something to be said about sex appeal bringing in the male audience, after all.
[She might be speaking from experience.]
no subject
I wouldn't know. I've never cared about what other people thought about my looks.
[Which is why flirting throws Lightning off so badly.]
no subject
[Tamer than some of Sheryl's concert outfits, for sure. Lightning's response prompts a confident look from her end before she shrugs, twirling a fork in between two fingers.]
Maintaining an image is what I had to do in my line of work.
[Being a pop star under public scrutiny is hard, what with the paparazzi and other kinds of press watching her move. Her expression turns pleased as she pokes at the brownie with her fork.]
But you know, after living here for over two months, it's nice not having to fuss over it so much.
no subject
The only image I had to maintain was that of the 'Savior.' It meant killing monsters, answering prayers, and saving the souls of anyone who was ready to die.
[Though there was plenty of people who hated her and resented her occupation, namely the Children of Etro.]
Here I have the same job, but no one calls me by the other name anymore.
no subject
Not everyone can say they were supposed to save people's souls, after all.]
I can't imagine how tough it sounds when you put all that together.
[A quiet tone slips through as she speaks. It doesn't sound too different from what the gods have to deal with at Takamagahara, herself included, only minus the souls part. Curiously, she pokes on the brownie some more.]
The more important your role, the bigger the responsibility.
no subject
Actually, I still have to deal with souls. I'm saving them in a different way.
[As in making sure they pass from death back into life. Unless they don't deserve it and then they rot in Egyptian hell.]
no subject
[A serene response after another quick bite of her dessert. She remembers their last conversation about their respective roles as gods. Though she may be familiar with the name Osiris, it's all just cursory knowledge at best. So her eyes perk up, expression curious.]
Oh? Now you'll have to enlighten me.
[So she says, one free hand tucked under her chin.]
no subject
I judge them. Since there's no Ma'at, I have to do the job myself. Technically I can drag Toth into it since he was the record keeper who kept tallies on who was good and who wasn't. I'll have to find Patchouli after this.
no subject
like the narcissist that she is. Her eyes follow the other goddess's trail of vision, watching the shinki try to gain more customers in that outfit.]To judge them and see if they're worthy or not, I suppose.
[Her eyes widen for a split second at a familiar name, and a smile instantly forms on her lips as she chuckles.]
I know Patchouli! She's one of my new fans. Very shy and quiet, but also incredibly nice.
no subject
It's an ugly process.
[Involving taking the dead persons heart and weighing it against the feather of truth.
She raises an eyebrow.]
Shy?
no subject
I get the impression that she's the type who keeps to herself. The kind who blends in than stands out, you know?
no subject
She seemed rather drawn to me, like she knew I was from the same pantheon. She didn't strike me as quiet.
no subject
[Sheryl chuckles at the memory just now.]
no subject
So do I. I'm not a fan of crowds.
no subject
I like crowds! But only during concerts because the more people who listen to my songs on stage, the better.
[It also means she gets to make more money and fans this way. She lets out a soft sigh, taking another bite of her food.]
no subject
So basically when you have a barrier between yourself and your adoring fans.
[Hope you've got good bodyguards.]
no subject
[Because she knows that not every fan just wants to shake her hand or hug her; some are unsavory enough that bodyguards are a necessity. Her fanbase can be crazy.
Which reminds her—]
Oh! I actually met one of my fans in here by chance! [She grins, eyes glimmering with delight.] Her name is Freyja, a cute girl with an equally cute hair ornament.
no subject
[Does she want to know?
Ah.]
I've met her. Idunn, correct?
no subject
[Thinking about Freyja prompts a warm smile on Sheryl's lips. It's always good to know that even when she's trapped here, she now knows that her legacy still lives on.]
Right, the one and only. She told me that I was one of her inspirations that led to her leaving her home so she can audition for a musical group.
