Who: Kurama & Yuri
What: A date... And some accidental memory reading. As you do.
When: May 13, later in the day
Where: Movie theater somewhere /waves hand
Warnings: Uh. Well. Probably talks of suicide, violence, horror, etc. because of who kurama and yuri are as people. also heavy UST, probably.
[She should go home.
This was the thought that kept circling through her mind as she waited around for Kurama to show up--if he'd show up. What if he never showed up? What was she supposed to do if she was stood up? She supposed go to Hakkai and Gojyo's, because if there's one thing she can trust is there would be plenty of wine for her to drown her sorrows in if need be. Not that she was really the type to indulge in that kind of thing anyhow, but it's nice to have the option, right?
She turns away from the crowd to examine her reflection a moment, feeling incredibly silly. She'd dressed up, (in a dark, navy blue because light colors didn't really suit Yuri) which was a little weird enough for her, but even the light make-up she put on felt like overkill and it took all Yuri had to not start rubbing at her face to get it off.
This was stupid and she should go home. Could she fake sick? Was it too late to fake sick and become a hermit? Wait, no, Kurama knew where she lived and it would be just like him to show up with some kind of plant claiming it'd help her feel better or something. Still, that might be preferable...
She continues to frown at her reflection, turning her head this way and that to look at herself, pushing her hair behind her ears. Maybe an emergency would come up and Kurama just wouldn't show and she could put this off for longer.]

[He catches Yuri's tone, but goofing off at the back of a movie theater isn't the time or the place for emotional conversations about the past, so Kurama makes a note to ask about it later and continues on his current course, seeking out the ticklish spots with increasingly unerring accuracy.
Oh dear, the background music is changing. Something's probably about to happen.]

She squirms more and presses a hand to her mouth, leaning more heavier against him in an effort to escape the tickling. The amount of effort she's putting in to still paying attention to the screen is almost admirable in its stubbornness, but she's maybe concentrating a little too hard... There's definitely a jump scare coming up and she's definitely not prepared for it.
When it happens she totally jumps with a gasp along with half the theater, and there's a smattering of laughter afterwards as the tense situation diffuses]

On the screen there's some minor drama unrelated to the main horror conflict--something about the son's parents and a divorce or whatever. Yuri can't even remember or if it's something she actually should be paying attention to. They do seem to be trying to set up it might all be in the mother's head...[]

She straightens herself up some, trying to refocus her attention on the plot. Typical ghosts behind everything going on but the family stubbornly trying to blame each other or everything else Was this an American film? This seemed very American.]
And what kind of solution do you have in mind? [She's interested despite herself even if her tone is a touch suspicious.]

What? He has to make it a tough choice to keep them alert through the predictable parts!]

It's-- fine. [She trails off, mumbling in embarrassment before she forces herself to look away. Her hands smooth out the hem of her dress, laying flat against her legs as she takes a breath, attempting to calm herself. She can do this. She can totally deal with whatever Kurama throws her way.] I don't mind it. But it's hard to take the movie seriously when you're tickling me...

Unexpectedly, the mother starts to believe the son when he identifies the one who's been getting him in trouble in a photograph of a group of people, most of whom are dead. The father, however, remains doubtful.]

There's definitely something else going on behind the scenes in this movie; Yuri can't spot all the red herrings or fake outs, the deliberate camera angles and music are misleading and while Yuri has a couple different theories on how this'll play out, she can't be sure what's 'right.'
She leans forward a little in interest, completely missing the set up for another jump scare until it happens. She yelps quietly and jumps, instinctively pressing against Kurama as she tries to get a grip on her pounding heart.]
I was going to say I liked this movie so far, but I think I take it back. [Grumpy.]
