Summary: It's time to get rid of the mess that that demon made!



The attack by the demon recently has left the surrounding area in a very sorry state. Not only are some people still hospitalized or slowly recovering from the affects of the draining of their life force, but a lot of nasty accidents happened during the time that people were walking around like they were dead to the world. It's been attributed to an odd natural disaster, and many think it may have been an illness that caused it.

The Heavens have decided to send any available gods and shinki down to help out in the relief efforts. If they try hard enough, they should be easily seen for the times when they are helping people out, so it shouldn't be a problem.

On top of that, some new arrivals have suddenly appeared. Amaterasu has left them little handwritten notes pinned to their shirts:

'These people need your help! I'm sorry to throw you into things like this, but please do what you can.

☼ Amaterasu ☼'

And yes, she has doodled little suns next to her name.



Care

There are a lot of people who were left hurt because of the incident with the demon and they are still trying to recover from it. From broken bones all the way to mental trauma, these people have seen a lot of crazy stuff and they aren't feeling so hot. Any kind of care is viable, but you might also want to just be an errand-runner in order to help the qualified people who are already doing a pretty good job of helping these poor folks out.

Food

A fair number of homes and stores managed to get destroyed amidst everything going on with the demon, so there's a lot of work for the neighborhood to do in helping them out. Whether by helping to rebuild what has been broken or by just handing out some free food to the people who need it. Of course, you might also take some food for yourself. Hopefully you're not a horrible enough person to just steal from the homeless~

Literal Cleaning

And here's where the fun comes in. The buildings that need to be rebuilt and the streets that need to be cleaned up are all under works and you can help in any way you deem worthy. You might carry loads or actually put forth the effort to help rebuild some lost homes, it's up to you. Of course, if you set about helping out in this way, you might notice little fairy-like spirits flitting around each of the Near Shore residents who are working hard to help each other out. The little spirits shine brightly and seem to shy away if approached, but they titter happily anytime the person they're following does something nice.

Banquet

After the day is done, the Heavens have a special treat set up for anyone who helped out - a large banquet in the Meeting Hall back on the Far Shore. Just like any other banquet, there is food and booze of every kind available. But also, the small tittering bright white spirits are in attendance, following around any Far Shore resident who helped out today. You might find yourself with a new friend or two who won't leave you alone, who keep giggling anytime you're kind, and who don't seem to be able to talk and only exude delight and good feelings.



In Summary:

• Help out the people affected by the demon
• Give out food to people who need it
• Clean up the messes
• Eat some good food, drink some good booze
• Have fun~

They remind me a bit of Yuna, Rikku and Paine honestly. No wonder they like me.

[Those treasure grubbing fairies! He misses them a bit.

He picks up his hammer again and looks up at the sky. It's hot out and it makes this kind of work uncomfortable but the faster they get done the better.]

Does this mean we're off vacation for now?

[missingache]

[Roxas just kind of stares as one stops, giggles, and flies off.]

I think I'd rather have those three than more spirits in my life.

[Sora. Sora, he's going to fix some of those shingles for you, because you're not that good at this.]

Yeah. I don't mind. I was starting to get bored being home all day.

[oathkeeper]

[They seem to be coming and going, fluttering occasionally around the both of them. Sora wonders where they came from and if they'd always been around?

His gaze falls on Roxas next who's fixing some of the work he did. Instead of being exasperated at that a small smile pulls at his lips. It's been a little bit since things shifted between the two of them and even though Sora hasn't told Roxas his real feelings he has a inkling that Roxas somehow knows anyway in a sense. He glances at the wristband he's wearing and his smiles gets a bit bigger.

He drops to a knee and starts working too as one of the little pixies decides to try and nestle in his hair.]

Yeah. I should probably get some prayers done I haven't done any in a while since things have been up and down. [Since Axel. And...] ...Did I tell you that Cloud and Sephiroth showed up here lately?

[missingache]

[Roxas has enough of a sense to realize that Sora does have at least a 'more than friends' feeling towards him. Which is fine. Roxas doesn't want to go back to just friends with Sora if his life depended on it. The wristband was, in a way, an attempt to show Sora that he himself cared for him deeply. He's so glad Sora didn't turn it down.

He nods, glancing at the pixie in his other half's hair.]

I'll take-[Oh no he almost said Kairi's name.]-Senri on one eventually.

[The first name doesn't surprise him too much, but the second one makes him jerk back enough where he snags a finger on an exposed nail. He hisses in pain and stares at the offending cut which bled rather freely.] No, you didn't.

[oathkeeper]

[The tickling of the pixie in his hair is enough to make Sora run a hand through it and dislodge her. He doesn't pick up on Roxas' slight hesitation and instead is distracted with Roxas cutting his finger.]

Who's clumsy now? [Sora teases, coming over to return the healing favor. He takes Roxas' hand into his and uses his own magic to heal the cut.] Sephiroth is a shinki and he's a lot weirder when he doesn't remember anything. He even sort of helped me when I was trying to save some people from some ayakashi. They're no way I trust him, but it feels better with Cloud around now too.

[Then once the cut is healed Sora takes Roxas' finger to his lips and kisses it, because Sora is a giant dork.] There, good as new.

[missingache]

[Roxas just listens to Sora talk, smiling when his finger is kissed. Which just means he has to lean forward and get a proper kiss. He pulls just a bit away with a soft sigh.]

I have a new shinki. I met her this morning. Please promise me you won't name her. I don't want you seeing how she died.

[It would kill Sora. Roxas thinks he knows how the other will react and it doesn't sit well with him ]

[oathkeeper]

[The kiss is pleasant with the added mixture of the light May wind blowing by. But when Roxas pulls back and says that he gets a weird sinking feeling in his belly.

... That's oddly specific. He'd never asked Roxas to name his other shinki before.]

What do you mean...

[missingache]

[The promise to be open about everything was made, and Roxas wants to uphold that promise. His shoulders sag as he's wracked with indecision at the last moment.]

.... It's Kairi.

[Now to wait for the inevitable fight.]

[oathkeeper]

...

[For a moment Sora doesn't think he hears Roxas right. Did he say...

But Roxas wouldn't lie or make a joke about that. Not ever. Sora's expression is shocked and it turns to worry and he stands up.]

Where is she?

[Trying to hide a quiver in his voice. He needs to see her to believe it.]

[missingache]

I sent her to go help where she can. She's safe. She'll come back to the temple tonight and you can see her then, okay?

[Please don't do something stupid, Sora.]

[oathkeeper]

[He should listen, but Sora feels tightness in his chest like he can't breathe. How can anyone expect him to wait to see her when he knows she's here? After missing her so much and everything with Riku, only to be repeated again with Kairi... There's no way he's waiting.]

No, I need to see her, I'm going to go find her.

[And he turns to climb down from the roof.]

[missingache]

[Letting out something like a choked noise, Roxas grabs Sora's hand. There's an obvious shake if Sora is even paying attention.]

Don't go. Please. [His voice comes out strained and quiet as he watches Sora with panic in his eyes.] If you go now, you're gonna do something stupid. I don't want what happened to Axel to happen to Kairi.

[oathkeeper]

[When Roxas grabs him he does stop but he doesn't turn around. He's looking down and his shoulders are starting to shake.

He's confused and conflicted. Kairi here as a shinki means she's dead. And he needs to know what happened to her. Did no one protect her or was it natural, or what. It's a pain that hits him as hard as Riku's death hit him even though he never found out what happened there either.]

I'm supposed to protect her, Roxas... I'm not gonna hurt her or say anything wrong, I just need to see her!

[missingache]

She can fight, Sora. You don't have to protect her forever. When she died-[Is he allowed to talk about her death?]... She's not helpless anymore. If, when, Riku comes back, and he's from our timeline, he'll tell you the same thing. She's a Keyblade wielder, just like you and me. Like Aqua and Ven. Do they need to be protected?

[It hurts, but even if he knew Axel was here, which he does, he wouldn't rush off like this.] Calm down. You can see her later. I promise.

[oathkeeper]

I know that- I know she's strong, but that doesn't mean I can't protect her, that doesn't mean I can't try to help her too.

[In Sora's mind he's thinking that he wants to be there for her, even if she doesn't remember him. He needs to be near the ones he loves and because of that he wants to rush off to see her.]

Why her too, Roxas. Why does she have to be here as shinki, why couldn't she come here like a god like Axel??

[He's shaking more now, but he's not crying. Maybe a tiny part of him is starting to feel resentment for the Heavens.]

[missingache]

[Yes, Sora, but what about the loved one hanging on to your hand who's in just as much pain as you are? Roxas feels that if he lets go of Sora, and the other goes after Kairi, that there will be a rift. But keeping Sora back like this would hurt them both as well.

He drops his voice down low enough that Sora might not hear it.]

But don't you want to protect me, too?

[He shakes his head, squeezing Sora's hand.]

I don't know. I don't know why the Heavens picked her to be a shinki instead of a god. Why they made Axel a god. I don't even know why I'm a god. I'd make a much better shinki!

[oathkeeper]

[Hearing Roxas, Sora turns to face him. The frustration and pain in Sora's chest aches deeply but somehow it dulls in comparison to Roxas saying those things. His words quell a lot of the shaking anger in Sora.

He pulls Roxas into a tight hug. Clutching him as close as he can like he might blow away on him.]

I want to protect you the most, Roxas... Please don't ever think you should be a shinki... That. That would kill me.

[Sora thinks... if Roxas was a shinki and didn't remember him... That would be the worst feeling in the world. He wouldn't survive that.]

I'm sorry, I... I'm just. I don't know how to feel about all of this happening. She's family to me.

[missingache]

[Roxas almost lets go of Sora's hand as the other turns to him. Did he say something wrong? What was going to-... Sora isn't leaving. There's a soft sigh from the blond. He returns the hug in kind, burying his face in Sora's neck.]

I'm sorry... I had that thought when I first met Axel again when he was a shinki. It hurt, and I wondered if we'd still be friends if neither of us knew the other. I don't think I'm a good god... [He shifts so his forehead could rest against Sora's, looking ready to cry.] But I like being a god because I get to be with you like this. Like... Whatever this is.

[Roxas kisses Sora's cheek softly.]

I know. At least she's with me, right? You'd get to see her whenever you come home. [He blinks, thinking about what he just said.] I-I mean when you come to my temple.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora squeezes Roxas, incredibly grateful for the closeness in this moment. It helps clear his head somewhat of all the things buzzing around in it.]

Even if you and Axel didn't remember each other you'd still be best friends, it would work out that way. I don't think that would ever change no matter what. [He's gotta remember that himself. It takes steps... it takes time... Sora is just so bad at being patient. He just worries a lot. He leans forward slightly to nuzzle against Roxas, hoping it's a small comfort.] And I think you're a good god. You take care of your shinki and you care a lot. Don't second guess yourself.

[There wasn't a second that Sora thought Roxas would be a bad god for Kairi. That was actually something good that came out of all of this. He couldn't have hoped for a better god to watch out for her if it wasn't him.

Then Sora feels his heart race a little. Yeah, he stays at Roxas' temple. A lot. But the way Roxas says home... He swallows carefully.]

Roxas... Whatever this is. It's um. [He shifts a bit, suddenly feeling some butterflies.]

[missingache]

[Honestly it would have killed Roxas more for Sora to be a shinki than it was for Axel to be one. Having the other half of your heart not remember you again is painful to think about. Both of them being gods was for the best.]

So you're pretty much saying I'm connected to Axel like you're connected to Riku and Kairi? [It's a nice thought. He closes his eyes when nuzzled.] Of course I take care of them. They depend on us, and I like having someone depend on me.

[Roxas watches Sora before tipping the others chin up to kiss him sweetly.] It doesn't need a label. I'm happy even if we just stay like this forever.

[He's content even if Sora doesn't feel as deeply as Roxas does.]

[oathkeeper]

[Being connected the way that Sora and Roxas are... Being together like this is how it's supposed to be.]

Yeah, that's right. And you're lucky to have him back with memories. I'm kinda jealous. [He's teasing. A smile pulls at his lips. But if Riku comes back as a shinki again he's kicking his butt.] You better take care of Kairi for me too, then.

[Some nervous butterflies come back in Sora's stomach. Because what he's trying to say is...] I know. I'd like that too because I... [wtf Sora after all this why is it still making him flustered to say it out loud.] I like like like, you.

[Yes three likes???]

[missingache]

[Nodding, Roxas smiles at Sora.] I will. She really likes my temple, but I gotta get her some more clothes before I go home. [Variety is what girls like, right?

He blinks a few times.] Three likes? Wait. Do you mean love or just a lot of like?

[oathkeeper]

[Yep it's decided, Sora's just gonna permanently move in at this point.

But wow his thoughts on that get completely derailed. Does he mean love?! Love... Does he love Roxas... If his feelings about Roxas being a shinki are anything to go off of, yes. And the countless other things he loves about Roxas (it's a really long list), also yes. And that thought somehow feels right in his heart.]

Ummm. Love. ...I think. Please don't freak out.

[Is Roxas gonna think that's too much and reject him forever?! Oh gosh that tightness in his chest is coming back again.]

Correct journal this time

[missingache]

[Freak out? Roxas freaking out over something like this?

No. He starts laughing, holding Sora closer. This was so surreal that it feels like a dream. Soon enough tears are running down the blond's cheeks. He looks anything but sad. He pulls Sora as close as he can, kissing him and putting all of his feelings into it. He breaks the kiss eventually and his entire demeanor is of someone relaxed and relieved.]

I was wondering when you'd figure it out. You're kinda slow.

[oathkeeper]

[That reaction is almost not what he expected. Roxas is laughing and then he's crying and kissing him so sweetly Sora feels his heart flutter like crazy. He can't help but to laugh too and when the kiss ends he reaches up to wipe Roxas' cheeks. No crying allowed, he'll start crying too...!!]

W-What?! What do you mean slow?!

[Despite the jab Sora is smiling. Maybe a little awkwardly embarrassed at his revelation taking longer.]
