Summary: Heaven is throwing a small party to view the sakura and let everyone relax.



After the absolute disaster that happened with handing out chocolates, the Heavens are tripping over themselves to make up for their inability to properly handle the situation. They are eager to make amends and assure everyone that they are hardworking individuals who want nothing more than to make everyone's stay here enjoyable or at least pleasant. To that end, they have invited all of the gods and shinki to a lovely flower viewing, since the sakura are in season.

And by 'invited', they mean 'mandatory', of course. You will accept their apology, whether you like it or not.

It's not all bad, though. The Heavens have provided various kimonos that can be worn, if you haven't brought your own, but you're not required to wear a kimono. They would, however, really like it if you did wear them. It's very traditionally Japanese, after all.

The party is taking place at night so that you can all hide your merrymaking from the Near Shore residents and also because the night sky is beautiful against the cherry blossoms. So try to at least enjoy yourselves while you're here.



Banquet

Every kind of food imaginable is available for your eating pleasure. On top of that, there are dozens of different kinds of desserts ready to be devoured as well. For the older crowd, booze has been provided and is being served by white-clad shinki bearing the golden chrysanthemum of Amaterasu. They are, however, refusing to serve alcohol to anyone who looks too young to drink, sorry guys.

Cherry Blossoms

The blossoms are absolutely gorgeous this year, and they are at the peak of their blooming right now. Nearly every single bud has bloomed and the pink petals are floating by everywhere you go. There is an ethereal light emanating from each of the trees, lighting up the area with a soft, pink light, yet it doesn't seem to be drowning out the brightness of the stars at all. It really is the most beautiful cherry blossom viewing anyone could ever hope for.

"Secret" Corner

Somehow, the Heavens have managed to make one small corner of the grotto into a completely secluded area. There is no marking or signs to indicate what this corner should be used for, but anyone entering it will suddenly realize that this is a place for lovers to meet privately. Only those that you enter the corner with will be able to notice your presence, and you will be unable to notice anyone else's presence as well. Enjoy yourselves, young ones!

Counselling

Off to the side, there is a tiny table set up with a small, nicely written sign that reads "Gentle Counselling". On the other side of the table is a sweetly smiling shinki who is willing to listen to your problems and answer any questions you might have. She is also here to help out any gods that are having a hard time dealing with knowing about how their shinki died and any shinki that is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that they are dead. Counselling will also gladly be offered to anyone who is still pissed off or upset in any way about what happened after White Day.

Banquet

This flower viewing thing sounds like a huge waste of time, but at least it has free food, so Add isn't ready to complain just yet. He's an easy one to spot with his weird armoured getup, lurking around the banquet area. Particularly around the desserts.

... all of it is very tempting, but he did kind of learn something from last time. How can he be sure the Heavens didn't fuck up again and get all the good food poisoned? He's a bit hesitant to be the first to try anything.

So, obviously, the solution is to make someone else do the testing for him. He'll move up next to anyone who wanders too close to the desserts, pointing randomly at something he hasn't tried yet.

"Those ones are really good. You should try some before they're all gone, kukuku."

Being new to the realm, Sonic's not entirely sure of the details of "last time," making him the perfect guinea pig.

Add is also pointing to a plate of mochis, and really, that's all the prompting Sonic needs. Sure, all he's eaten so far is cake, but hey, he's a god! He can eat whatever he likes, right?

"I suspect the platters with be miraculously refilled as soon as they start to get low, but..." He can't say no to mochi. Before Add can actually see him take a mochi off the plate, he's chewing on half of one, his eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store. "It's strawberry."

Magically refilling platters? That would be quite convenient, but...

"Just because they're 'gods' doesn't mean they're all-powerful," he replies, watching Sonic carefully (did he already have one in his hand before Add approached...? whatever, as long as he's still testing the right dessert). "Even if there's a method to refill the plates without physically moving any of the goods, I doubt all of these came out of thin air. Someone had to make them, so there's likely a limit to the supplies. Of course, if you'd like to test that theory..."

If they eat all of the desserts on one plate, will it be refilled automatically? Furthermore, will it stop refilling after a certain amount has been taken? Something like that could be useful to know, maybe.

For a moment, Sonic just stares at Add with a flat expression. Then, he grabs a near-by plate, picks up the platter of mochi, and dumps the entire thing onto the plate. Not all the mochis land on the plate neatly, but that's really not the point. The point is, they now have an empty platter that once held mochi.

He picks up the new plate and turns to go find a table. "It probably won't refill while we're watching."

While Ekko was inclined to pick up some sweets anyway he has to do a double take at the laugh. That's an evil villain laugh if he'es ever heard one, never mind the fact that he's pretty sure he's never met an evil villain.

"Did you just laugh ominously?" It's too weird to just let go.

"... Why do people keep describing it like that?" Seriously, it's just a normal laugh! It's not that weird, right?

... He might be getting a bit self-conscious about it now. Why does everyone keep pointing it out like it's a big deal...

Add grumbles something else inaudible to himself before snatching up a cute pink cupcake and shoving it in his mouth. You know what? Fine! If this guy wants to be a jerk and make fun of him, he can't have any of the most delicious sweets! Add is just going to go out of his way to snatch up anything Ekko looks like he's going for and eat it right in front of him. Take that.

Except don't, because Add will try to steal it first.

It's kinda weird man. "'Cause that's what it sounds like." He shrugs, "You do you, but it's kinda weird to hear it coming out of a... teenager?" He's pretty sure older people are more likely to laugh like that. Actual mad scientists, for example.

He doesn't know how old Add is. He's not even really sure of how old he is. Memory loss is going to be weird, he's sure of it.

Hey Add, how fast are you? Because Ekko is quick. He'll notice that Add's trying to gun for his dessert and try to throw him off by grabbing for another piece of fruit and picking up another, the one he actually wanted.

Genos has been cursed with bad luck by Hermes. He still has some twigs, leaves and of course, flowers in his hair, from when the cherry tree branch fell on him.

So what kind of other bad luck might happen to him? Coming across Add of course... That chicken clucking laugh, it's hard to mistaken for anyone else. Add gets a mistrustful glance

"I have no need of these."

He leans in close, looming dangerously over the invisible line that dictates Genos' personal bubble. At this distance, he can clearly smell the flowers in his hair, and a faint aroma of something else underneath...

"But you can still eat and taste, correct? Even if it's not necessary, don't you think it's good to try new things? If you were given a sense of taste despite not needing it as a machine, surely it's something you should try to enjoy. It would be wasteful not to do so."

... and then while Genos is hopefully distracted by that thought, he'll quickly try to lean in a bit further, maybe pull a couple of the flowers loose from his hair while he's at it. Ah, it definitely smells like some kind of shampoo.

"Maybe vanilla?" he mutters out loud, pulling away again. More intentionally, he adds, "Do you wash your hair? I wouldn't expect something like that to be necessary for a machine."

"I still need it. If I don't for a prolonged time I'm getting messages what kind of nutrients I should consume. Parfaits aren't generally one of them" But he will lean to take better look on the desserts. He's especially interested in chocolate-mint one, even if just for the taste combo. Mostly curious if he could duplicate it.

Wait. Is this guy sniffing him? Yeah, that's he notices far more than just an invasion of personal space. Genos was quite a personal-space invader in his day too, not that he remembers them.

"Of course I do. I still can get dirt them" like right now, all those twigs and flowers "Are you now delving into my personal hygiene habits?"

"Those are actually food? They look like bath salts." Some kind of powder pressed into cute little flower shapes? Ick. Axel's not about to believe they're good to eat.

He's got an ice cream bar, and that's keeping him happy. He's concluded that strawberry flavor is pretty good. Little bit sweet, little bit tart... there's something missing, but he can take it as it is.

"It would be rather unusual to put something like that on a plate alongside desserts, don't you think?" Of course, he wouldn't put it past the Heavens, either... which is why he'd prefer to have Axel test it first. For science!

Although, his eyes end up lingering on that icecream bar he has instead. That looks kind of good...

"Where did you get that?"

"Cooler at the end of the table." Axel jerks a thumb in the direction he'd come from, and takes another bite of ice cream. "There's other flavors, too.

"I'm not trying the bath salt stuff, though, thanks."

For all the deception and dark intentions he's seen from Weiss, Omi is inclined to trust people by default. He's wandered over to the desserts mostly on accident; his attention is on the counseling table and the designated shinki some distance beyond it, wanting to scope it out for anything that looks strange without being too conspicuous.

To that end, he probably should listen to the suggestion he gets from another attendee, and eat something while he's near the table.

"Are they? ....O-okay. I guess I will."

He goes to the table and picks up a chocolate-covered strawberry, nibbling off the tip, followed by another chunk of it. Weirdly, it does help. The taste is pleasant, even sort of relaxing. Tart and sweet but not overly so. Despite himself, as he looks back at the other, he's smiling a little now, possibly for the first time all evening.

"You're right, they are good! Thanks for the recommendation."

He's been eyeing those chocolate-covered strawberries for awhile now, so it's a relief when someone finally takes the bait and tries one. Add smiles back at him.

"It's no problem," he answers pleasantly... and then he stares at Omi for a few uncomfortably long seconds, counting in his head. He gives it at least ten to fifteen seconds, just to be safe.

"... Hmm, the chocolates last time had a very immediate reaction, so those ones don't appear to be tainted. Do you feel anything unusual at all?"

Omi helps himself to another of those strawberries and is halfway through it when he notices the man is staring at him. It makes him uncomfortable.

"Eh? Unusual...?" And then the confusion clears and he gapes incredulously. "Wait a minute, you just used me as a guinea pig?!"

Cute girl who's still getting used to pretty much everything here? Check. Naminé looks at the dish at which he's pointing, and she does look genuinely curious. She picks up a plate of something pink, round, and sticky with a small leaf over the top of it.

"What is it? It does look good..."

Add has no idea what the hell that thing is, either. Maybe some kind of fruit? It does have a leaf on it...

"It wouldn't be any fun if I just told you," he says, chuckling under his breath. "Why don't you try some and find out? I'm sure you'll find it to be a pleasant surprise, kukuku."

Or maybe it tastes terrible, but hey, that's what he's making her test it for.

... There's something off about this guy, but Naminé's way too polite to even suggest that. She's a little unsure, though, but she reaches for one of the plates. Well... everything here doesn't seem to be harmful, at least.

She picks up the mochi and takes a bite--after removing the leaf. "Oh!" She looks at him with a pleasantly surprised smile. "It's delicious."

Cherry Blossoms

Once he's done eating enough sweets to make him sick, there isn't a lot left to do. Watching the flowers? Socializing? Yeah, basically nothing worthwhile. He decides to just wander off to a secluded-looking spot under a tree and take a nap or something.

... Although, something about this seems vaguely familiar, in a strange way. Has he been to one of these types of events before...?

He ends up looking a bit lonely, lost in thought as he stares up at the trees. Or maybe he's actually started to doze off, considering how terrible his sleeping patterns are. It's hard to tell from a distance. Don't draw on his face.

What was it with people and the trees? Where they somehow magical and he just wasn't affected? Roxas was starting to feel irritated with the whole thing. The last time he'd been at a flower viewing festival... No, don't think about that.

He walks close enough to this guy to see if he was asleep or not. How could someone sleep while standing? "Hey! You should go home if you're tired. Or someone might draw on you." Among other things.

He's almost half-asleep, laying down comfortably under the tree with his hands behind his head when he hears a familiar voice. His face scrunches in annoyance, eyes still firmly closed.

"Aren't you the one who gets to decide that?" As if he was going to walk the whole way back to their temple. He'll leave when Roxas leaves, that way he can just be teleported instead of climbing ten thousand stairs (maybe a slight exaggeration).

"I don't feel like moving yet. If you're so concerned, you can stand guard over me until we're done here."

Rather than announce himself, Roxas just plonks down unceremoniously on the unoccupied expanse of grass beside him. Once again, seemingly out of nowhere at all, he's just there. He doesn't say anything, looking out at the festivities not far off from this spot, at least, not relatively speaking.

More often than not what he says seems to offend Add, lending to a growing impression that his shinki is purposefully looking for reasons to argue with him.

So today, he just sets down a little dish of ice cream in front of him. Something he got from some sword-guy he'd seen in Monad who didn't appear to remember anything about the place. Granted, he's pretty sure that sword-guy's a shinki now.

Add can't help but sigh quietly when he hears someone else approaching, opening his eyes to give them a sidelong glance. When he realizes it's a familiar cloaked figure, his gaze lingers a few extra seconds (just to be sure) before looking down at the small dish placed next to him...

Then he stares back up at the trees, giving it no more thought. He's had his fill of sweets by now. If he's bringing Add something like that, it could be a bribe. As if he'd give in that easily. There are more important thoughts on his mind right now anyway.

"You have a twin."

Not a question or accusation, just a simple statement of fact.
