Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[He's honestly very happy that this sort of thing has become a reoccurrence. Hopefully, it means that more people will be able to adjust to the Heavens faster.]

[He's not actually a shinki himself, but he was the one that wrote up those brochures. So instead of actually going to the god training, he's there waving people down and handing out flyers.]

[Hm. Actually, Izuku's basics are fairly solid and he's not planning on using Demyx for fighting anything. Shouto and he have that well and truly covered. Besides, he's not going to subject this place to the sheer amount of damage he could do using his partner's quirk.

No thanks.

But he is available for training other people on the basics of hand to hand. Any other kind of training and you'll need to ask somebody else.]

[Somehow constantly smiling and waving people down to get the information they actually need is more exhausting than fighting ayakashi. That's not to say he regrets spending his time this way but...

He lets out a sigh before chugging down some water.]

Huh?

[Chinatsu jumped in surprise when she was suddenly approached by some boy. He looked about her age. She had just been observing from the side, honesty hoping she would continue going unnoticed.]]

You mean that...?

[She pointed at what everyone else was doing.]

I don't think so? At least.. I don't remember if I have.

[He looks out with her at all the other people who are doing their hand to hand and practicing with weapons.]

Yeah, that's what I mean.

If you don't remember, do you want to try?

[Not really.]

Do all shinkis need to be able to do this?

They don't. There are some shinki that don't fight.

But it's a good idea to know how to draw a borderline, even if you don't plan on getting into a fight.

[redmare]

[Something about this kid felt familiar to her...Not that she could remember anything though.]

Fine. I'll try it.

[She wasn't going to find out if she knew how to fight or not without trying anyway. Might as well.]

[ Of course Izuku would volunteer to help new arrivals on his birthday - Shouto didn't expect anything less, to be honest, and it's going to pay off later anyways. They'll spend the day in after they're done here, so long as nothing happens, and then there'll be a party later.

So he's here, and grateful that his timing was good, because it looks like Izuku is taking a break.

He makes his way over calmly, arms behind his back. It's a casual posture for him, but he's also carrying something out of Izuku's line of sight. ]

[He was the one who drafted up the brochures, he has a responsibility to make sure that they're actually getting into people's hands.

He perks up the moment Shouto gets into his field of vision.]

Ah. Hey, Todoroki.

[icyhot]

[ He just has to make sure that he also enjoys his birthday, so. That's why he's here. ]

Hey. [ Even if he's been doing a lot of work, and has gotten sweaty, Shouto doesn't hesitate to come right up into his personal space to greet him with a kiss. PDA? Whatever. ] You look like you're working hard.

[He reaches up and brushes a hand through Shouto's hair once he's close enough. The kiss brings a little smile to his face.]

Just like usual, huh?

Just like usual. I figured that's what would happen, so I decided...

[ As much as he likes being close to him, Shouto isn't about to bump their heads together or go for another kiss. Instead, he brings the little box out from around him - it's a to-go box from one of the cake shops they'd been to. ]

[He'd be perfectly happy with his birthday present being a lot of Shouto kisses. But a cake is good too.]

You brought cake!

Aidos.

[ She greets him with a raised hand as she approaches. Her shinki had been helping him distribute those fliers and were more than happy insistent even that he take a break. But she does wait for him to finish with his drink before speaking. ]

Thank you for volunteering your time to get this information across. There's only so much we can do on our own, after all.

[Should he bow? Should he wave back? He never knows what to do around the native gods.

Hello, Lady Bishamon.

It's no problem at all. The more we can help each other out the better, right?

[ She's got a towel around her shoulders, evidently having taken care of her own share of work. But the wave doesn't bother her at all. She's not going to have a fellow god stand at attention on her behalf after all. ]

Especially with any newcomers. I know things were difficult when you first arrived but I believe this will help.

[ A pause as she accepts a bottle of water from one of her own shinki, the young boy who was handing them out. ]

How are your own shinki faring, by the way?

It's only been hectic a few more times since March. But it seems like that keeps escalating...

[He shakes his head, back to the matter at hand.]

I think this is going to help too. Having some kind of constant training is good for the new shinki and gods.

Todoroki's doing as well as ever. I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of using his vessel form. Demyx is new, but he seems to be settling into the temple well.

[dominatriarch]

I'd be lying if I said this wasn't concerning...

[ Good thing her kids know about this now. At least she isn't too worried about talking about it in front of them. But there's a brief look of surprise. ]

Oh? So you're the god who named Demyx. I'm glad to hear he'll be in good hands. His relationship with his last god wasn't favorable, as I heard.

Between the escalation and everything else... yeah. I wish we could track down the culprit.

[He sighs. There are too many questions and nowhere near enough answers.]

It sounded... really lonely. I think it'll probably result in a good match? He doesn't have to go on an ayakashi related prayers since I usually bring Todoroki along for those. But he seems more social, so talking to the people on the Near Shore might go easier.

[Suijin finds the young god downing some water so fast she's a little worried for him. When he finally finishes she speaks,]

Water is essential for good health, but do take care.

[Suijin’s tone is faintly amused as she steps forward to face Aidos more directly. Her dark blue kimono appears less elaborate today somehow- to the point where it, and the god wearing it, seem to simply fall beneath notice. But her voice is sufficient to hold his attention.]

I wanted to thank you for your part in making today come to pass.

[And indeed, that seems to be all she wishes to say. She gives no indication of holding him from returning to his well-deserved break.]

[It takes a second or two before the brain freeze goes away, but he can't regret drinking it down that fast.]

Sorry if I worried you. [Comes almost automatically. But he recognises that voice even without seeing her in her usual robes. He has to wonder if there's a spell woven into it to make her seem easily overlooked.]

I'm always glad to help in any way I can. Hopefully, it will let new shinki adjust faster to the Heavens than they would otherwise.

[She smilingly shakes her head slightly to dismiss his apology.]

That is my hope as well.
