Everything was new, and somewhere deep in his gut he knew it shouldn't be. There was one fragment of this place he remembered-a school. There was a school, it was important and he needed to get there because THAT MAN had made him the disciplinary head.
But that was the only thing he could remember. Not where he was, or where it was, or who even the rest of the people he saw pass him. His encounter with his god gave him a bad taste in his mouth-he was a mere weapon and tool!-but he had to rush.
The school might be in danger if he was dead. Because he couldn't remember how he died. Hakkai would be there, and he could tell him what happened.
Hibari was lucky he remembered his own name. The only logical conclusion came that this is the second time he had died, and he was paranoid. It could happen again.
The next person the shinki saw was getting roughly accosted by a rather wild-looking Hibari. "Where is the school. Where is it?!"
B-closed to Hakkai
It was fairly late at night by the time Hibari had found his way to the school. He'd originally thought it had been its own structure, but was displeased to find out it was actually another god's temple. Unfortunately, it made sense, because he remembered Hakkai. Hakkai was a shinki like him and why WOULDN'T he be in his god's temple.
The Cloud Guardian was graceful as ever as he climbed into a window on the side of the building and started rifling through the rooms for anything familiar, almost hoping that Hakkai would actually notice.
C-closed to Ren
He was dying. Hibari could see the blood flowing out along with his life and after the screaming pain ripped through him, he quickly went numb. And after that, the world quickly went dark.
He couldn't die, not right now, like this-
It had almost seemed like a moment later that Hibari opened his eyes, clueless as to just what he had been dreaming about. Was it a dream? He couldn't remember anything. The only thing was the taste of pain on his breath and the indisputible fact that his name was Hibari Kyouya and he was DEAD.
Hibari shot up from where he was laying-inside a strange room he'd never seen before. Had someone kidnapped him here? What was this joke? He needed to find a way out, because....that's right, the school! He remembered the school. One piece of memory seemed to be floating around from the depths of the darkness he had rose out of...
Ren, if he was awake, would surely feel the rising surge of anger and panic that Hibari's heart was producing. This was not right-he didn't know where he was. He didn't know WHAT he was. And he had just died. Again.

Hibari didn't have his tonfas, so it was a bit harder to beat someone up, but he did still lift the guy's head by his collar and hit him again to shut him up, before digging his foot this time into the guy's shoulder, hard.

Of course, he already knew trying to use that kind of logic wouldn't help him. He was up against an unreasonable maniac. He wasn't sure if there was even anything left he could say to try and diffuse the situation, but it was difficult to concentrate on a solution with his head spinning from getting knocked around so much. And between his broken leg and that boot pinning him to the ground, he wasn't about to make any miraculous escapes.
Lacking any other options, he sucked in a sharp breath and bit his lip, trying to hold back his reaction. Was that what this asshole wanted? A reaction? It had to be either that or his life, and either way Add was screwed at this point. The best plan he could think of was to endure, to wait for a better opening, something he might be able to work with to get out of this.

Hibari kept pressing on the guy's upper arm until he heard the bone creak and snap under his considerable force before finishing it off with a few blows to the guys stomach again. He probably wasn't going to eat right for a week.
It made Hibari feel better about himself.

But while Roxas knew he could endure these things, his experiences told him that Add wasn't built the same way. And what he felt was trouble. That's all it really took to spur him to search for him, and with the way he was able to pop up just about anywhere, it didn't take him long to locate him.
Relatively speaking.
Getting one good look at Add's state was enough to confirm the worst suspicions and he growled, hunching forward as his keyblades shimmered into his grip in plumes of resplendence and shadow. "Back off." He gritted the words out, low and flat. The only warning he was willing to issue.

There was another agonizingly slow snap as Add writhed weakly, rapidly losing his strength. Each new injection of pain was blinding. His entire body ached, he could barely manage to hold a coherent thought together, his breathing becoming quick and shallow as he tried to fight back the panic swelling in his chest. It was a hopeless situation. When would this guy be satisfied? Would this keep going until Add died? If he was already dead, could he even die a second time...?
Even if he couldn't remember anything... he didn't want to die. He knew that much about himself. Here he had his "second chance", and he was going to die on day one? How pathetic would that be?
But no matter how much he wanted to live, there wasn't a damn thing Add could do about this. He was completely at the other's mercy, and it didn't seem like he had much to go around. It infuriated him, almost enough to counteract how much he was outwardly panicking. Almost.
Vaguely, he heard the voice of someone else approaching, but his attention was too focused on himself and Hibari. Having already given up on the "don't show a reaction and he'll give up" approach, Add was back to trying to struggle free, as pointless as it was, his remaining good arm weakly trying to pull Hibari off him. It wasn't doing much.

As entertaining as it was to beat on this idiot, Hibari was rapidly losing interest and he really needed to find the school. It was clear neither of these people were going to help him, and if key person was the one who killed him, Hibari was going to be wary.
Still, as he backed off of Add, he stepped on the guy's hand, hard.

In one fluid motion he straightened, pointing a keyblade in his direction. "Fire!" A ball of fire flared into existence and shot toward the offending shinki. Were he not concerned more with Add's injuries and the possibility of another god getting involved, he'd have used a more powerful spell - but this would do for a warning.
Burns hurt, and Fire had a brief lingering damage effect, what's more. He'd have to move fast to avoid that, or deal with the reminder that he'd made a wrong move.

He realized now that the other person had to be Roxas. Was Add followed...? He wasn't sure if he should be angry about that or not, but if Roxas hadn't arrived when he did, there's no telling what could've happened to him—killed, or abandoned until someone else stumbled upon him, however long that could take. With Hibari finally backing off, he started to calm down a little. Although he couldn't be sure of his god's intentions just yet, if his god considered him his "responsibility" Add was willing to trust Roxas a hell of a lot more than he would Hibari. He watched the latter warily, glaring with black-filled eyes as he waited for him to move away.
And, of course, he couldn't just leave Add without one more parting gift. Add bit down on his lip until it bled, hissing at the sound of several more fractures in his hand—what did it even matter anymore? That arm was already completely fucked. Why not just chop the whole thing off at this point?
He didn't have the energy left to even struggle, so he just clamped his eyes shut and waited for this asshole to move on. Just leave him alone already.
So, he kind of missed seeing that cool fireball, but oh well. As long as it wasn't pointed at him he didn't care anymore. This day sucked. Everything sucks.

And if this guy was gonna keep doing that....he'd said he was going to leave the idiot alone, but the key person still wanted to pick a fight? Hibari was pissed off and out of patience. He backed to the side slightly, pulling out the kitten and setting him away from the fight, before turning his deadly gaze upon the person who so callously tried to set him on fire.
"I'll kill you, degenerate."
And he was off at blinding speed, swinging a blow at the cloaked person's head.

Roxas was known for, among other things, being swift. And while Hibari might be quick for a human - he couldn't yet gauge against other shinki - it wasn't difficult to dodge his attack. He slid aside, raising a keyblade toward the sky, and flatly intoned just one word: "Heal."
Rather than this targeting himself or the boy who'd rushed him, instead sparkling green light showered on Add. The instant the spell dissipated, Roxas hopped back and held his keyblade aloft again. "Thunder." Sparks bounced from the point of his weapon, only to make the air around Hibari crackle with electricity. Lightning jolted around him, an area of effect difficult to avoid.
And having given himself the time, he fired off another Curaga in Add's direction. Was he taking Hibari entirely seriously as a threat? Apparently not.

Why did Hibari have a cat in his jacket, anyway? Weird. He mulled on that thought for a moment as he continued to lay uselessly on the ground, trying not to think about how much his body ached at every tiny movement.
The sparkling green light managed to draw him out of his half-conscious daze. It felt... strange. Warm? Everything still hurt, but it made the pain a little duller. He could breathe a little easier, at least.

But for someone like the guy, he was going to close the distance so it was harder to fling spells at him, so Hibari dashed forward and swung a kick at his chest.
no subject
If Hibari wanted to fight in close-range, it was honestly no disadvantage to him. The spells had, more than anything, been useful in keeping him occupied while Roxas healed Add as best he could. He'd try more later, unsure of the level of his injury - only knowing it to be painful.

There was a lot of force behind them, making Hibari put in a lot of effort to stop them in their tracks, and once again, he was frustrated by the lack of weapons. Arms weren't supposed to be guarded with unless they had armor...but he wasn't going to let this guy get to him.
At this point he'd pretty much forgotten Add was even there.

Not only that, but keyblades were the means by which their wielders conducted and directed spells. Which just meant one thing with Hibari gripping his weapons - he wouldn't have time to dodge this one. "Thunder." Electricity popped and crackled to life, bounding up his blades to deal damage to his opponent.
Whether Hibari took or deflected an attack wasn't going to halt his momentum, and the moment that attack concluded, he'd spring back and launch another series of cutting swings with his keyblades. Locomotion was, among other things, signature to his manner of fighting. He didn't let up unless he was going to rain hell on the whole battlefield.

Hibari also knew the blows were coming, but they were hard to dodge without something to block them, and while he avoided a couple of them, a few more hit him, leaving cuts on his skin.
He growled-he wasn't gonna let this guy drive him off like that, so after one of the keyblades swung near him again he grabbed it and with most of his fearsome strength, put his weight on it to try and throw the guy to the ground.
no subject
Which meant that rather than letting his weapons be used against him, he dismissed them. They vanished from his grip and Hibari's, only to shimmer into his hands in the next instant to lunge into counter-attack.
It was one advantage of having weapons that came and went with nothing more than a thought, though there were surely more ways to exploit that than Roxas had figured out so far.

And then all of a sudden they were back again, about to attack-dammit, he was REALLY angry he didn't think about that, and could only bring his arms part the way up before the keyblades slammed into him.
The blow threw him more to the ground than anything else had, and he tasted blood on his tongue as he slammed down. Hibari didn't have any time to leisure, as soon as he was down, he was rolling upwards again, ignoring the shoots of pain in his arms and scrambling to his feet. "Are magic tricks all you can do?"
no subject
"Is flailing your limbs all you can do?" He countered, tone so flat one might take him for bored. It was already clear enough that he'd done more than throw spells around, and he wasn't about to rise to any taunts regardless of what they were.
This shinki didn't know the sorts of things that actually got under his skin.
