Who: Sharak Sanzo, Kainé, Goten and possibly others.
What: Catch-all for various things at Aditi house.
When: Backdated to May 23rd, and onwards.
Where: Temple of Aditi
Summary: Sharak may have temporarily fostered a child without asking, but it's cool. He's cute.
[On the evening of the 22nd, Sharak comes home with a seven-year-old monkey in her arms. Goten will be staying with them for however long he wants, probably until he picks a god he likes or until the powers that be assign him to someone else. Sharak considers offering a name from her but... Well, taking that kind of responsibility for a young child probably isn't a good idea in her situation.
Anyway, he's here. So is Kainé, and possibly other visitors. Hopefully they remember to call ahead if they do visit, otherwise they'll just be stuck outside the barrier surrounding the Temple of Aditi, waiting for someone to notice them.]

That's one you'll have to ask Sharak on. Not that she'll care much either way. [She contemplates the stool in front of her that she normally sat on, but it doesn't take her much bought before she nudges it Natsuru's way with her foot and kneels on the ground beside it instead.] As long as you're not feeling like you're obligated to, it's fine. I don't mind the help. You're just worth more than the shit you do.
no subject
Alright. I will.
[She watches Kainé pausing at the stool briefly, and suddenly it's nudged over in her direction. She feels bad for a second if Kainé's kneeling on the ground just so she could offer her the stool, but the other woman doesn't seem bothered by it. So she just gives Kainé a grateful little nod, which she may or may not even see, and takes a seat, settling her bundle in her lap.]
I remember... you said the same thing about what we are to our gods.
[Which, now that she thinks of it, makes her wonder.]
Does Sharak-san ask you to do any of this?
no subject
Yeah fucking right. I rescued her goddamn laundry from whatever the hell she was doing before. She's a shitstorm disaster when it comes to this kind of thing, and I don't mind it.
no subject
... I like keeping everything clean and neat too.
[She blushes a little after she's said it, hoping the assumption isn't too off.]
I've never had to clean up after someone else, though. Except for maybe Pidge-san a little bit. You don't get tired of it?
no subject
Can you say that for sure? [Kainé sure couldn't, no matter what her gut said.] It's not like I only do this. Besides... [Her eyes soften a little, and though she doesn't do much to change her actions, there's something a little more gentle about how she does it.] It'd be pretty shitty of me to get tired of something I offered to do, when she hasn't gotten tired of me for real, yet.
no subject
I guess not...
[Enough said, really. She knows Kainé understands what being a shinki is like. She's quiet while Kainé speaks, only watching the other woman and somewhat copying her actions, so she's sure she's helping her do the laundry correctly.]
You don't really think she'd ever get tired of you, do you? I bet you're really important to her, even if you didn't do any of the chores and stuff.
Like how you said I didn't have to do anything, if I wanted to stay over...
[She's trying to imply that they clearly care about each other. Which she can only say from what little evidence she's seen, but she hopes it's true!]
no subject
Sure, but you're a good girl. [Kainé's exhausting to deal with, comparatively. Still, she shrugs.] We work. Bug each other, but I wouldn't trade this thing because of petty bullshit like that.
no subject
Th-Thanks, but...
[She bows her head as she keeps working on the laundry, letting her hair obscure her blushing face a bit. She'll grudgingly accept the compliment, but not the implication about Kainé.]
You're not...
I mean... You're always so nice to me...
[She doesn't think a little swearing and bugging her god makes Kainé a less good person!]
no subject
[This time, she does look up so she can raise an eyebrow as if to say, so? She's really very certain she's not a "good girl", but she doesn't seem down at all about it, either. It's just a fact -- and not one that bothers her, at this time. She's not seriously judging her worth right now.]
You haven't done anything that deserves a good kick in the skull, so why would I treat you like you had? Pretty simple to me.
no subject
Would you... really do that?
If someone deserved it, I mean. Like, if they made really rude comments about your clothes, or something.
[Not drawing from her own experiences wearing this outfit at work, nope. Not at all.
Okay, maybe a little.]no subject
[Still, she gives a slow, measuring look.]
Say I did care. Then I figure I can fuck 'em up however I like. Nothing wrong with getting pissed and acting on it, long as you don't do something stupid like get in over your head. [Kainé grunts, then pretends to be squinting at a troublesome stain.] That takes some limit-testing, though. So I'd test the hell out of those limits and learn them.

[She abruptly stops, color rising to her cheeks again. She hadn't meant to admit that was an actual thing that happened.]
no subject
Alright. But did you say it like that, or like you meant it? You get flustered and he thinks he's won. Give him a look like you could snap his neck with just a thought? It's a little more effective.
no subject
Does that really work? He did kinda back off when I got mad at him...
[It took him insinuating that standing on street corners in skimpy outfits might be her profession to get her to finally snap at him, but it did work. And she could definitely see Kainé giving someone the death glare for daring to say something like that about her outfits.]
no subject
People don't all work the same. It's not like there's going to be any one formula you can use to get what you want. But you make him doubt that he can make you feel small and you start making a bigger dent. Tends to really throw people off when you don't do what they expect.
no subject
She doesn't want to just snap and bite people's heads off every time someone makes a few rude comments. But... maybe Kainé has a point about people like that thinking they've won if she gets flustered.]
So... it's like they want me to react that way? And if I don't...
[It's sinking in!]
no subject
Then they don't get what they want. And they know you refused to give it to them. They fucking lost.
[She appraises the garment, hums with approval, and moves on to the next one. It's not just the washing job she's satisfied with.]
It gets easier, you know.
no subject
... Hm?
[That part catches her off guard. Kainé's so confident and says what's on her mind, she can't possibly imagine this being hard for her.]
Oh, yeah, I guess it's like anything else. Practice makes perfect.
[She doesn't know where she's heard that particular phrase before, but it feels more personal than just being a simple common saying. It seems to apply more to things like singing and dancing than having a backbone in her mind, but maybe it kind of does work that way.]
