[closed to Saitama] The Art of teaching
He could live without the dragons, though.
So yes, instead of normal student, trying to prepare to normal entrance exams, they got an artist. Who spent too much time partying with his muses, and found out too late that not only his portfolio needs major expanding, but also that he needs to learn theory for the exams.
The deadline is pretty close, and they have to make him pass.
Wonderful ]
This case looks pretty hopeless. [ He whispers to Saitama in conspiratorial tone. Not that the passed out student can hear them ]
no subject
His gaze turns to the various sketches strewn across the ground. ]
Looks like he already started some stuff. We just gotta kick him into gear.
[ He starts shaking the sleeping student in order to wake him up. ]
Hey, kid. Get up! You're gonna fail all your classes. Why'd ya call us down here if you're just gonna sleep the whole time?
[ The student is awoken from his nap and quickly grabs for his cellphone to check the time. ] 'Crap I overslept! I really gotta get to work on this!' [ He frantically gets out of bed and starts pacing around the room, muttering to himself. ] 'I have no idea what I'm gonna do! I barely have any time to work on anything and I have no idea what to do for my concentration pieces!'
[ Crap. Looks like this guy was a lot more stressed over this than Saitama originally thought he would be. ]
Man... how hard can it be to just scribble some paint on a piece of paper?
no subject
'You don't understand! They want me to do still life! And an acrylics piece. And examples of gesture drawing. And at least few finished paintings to present my---' [ the guy puts on his glasses and only now notices the company ] '...and you are?'
We're--- [ Oh crap, he ended asking that question. Should they answer that, well they heard his prayers? That this is the mighty Radegast is here to help with his problem? ]
no subject
Uh, hi. I'm [ He checks his phone for the text message Genos sent him a few days ago. ] Radegast, and this is my assistant. [ He points to Genos. ] We got your prayer about passing your tests or something?
[ He squats down and picks up one of the sketches off the ground. Some kind of weird lady with two heads and a goat body. ] So... whaddya need help with here?
[ In contrast to Saitama's casual attitude, the student is freaking out at the two grown men in his room. ]
'What the hell?! Quit making stuff up! How would you even know I prayed last night?! Or that I've got tests coming up?'
[ The student continues babbling in disbelief and makes for his phone to call the police until Saitama speaks up. ]
Hey you should draw this goat thing driving a motorcycle. It'd be kinda funny, right Genos? [ Saitama is holding the same paper he had before and hands it over to Genos. ]
A m-motorcycle...? [ The student stares at them phone in hand... ] Y-You're right! The addition of a motorcycle would actually bring a lot of movement to the piece!
no subject
Hmmm, which composition would look better he muses to himself
None of these even resemble a motorcycle. [ Genos comments, very helpfully ]
They're not supposed to. I'm nailing the composition down. That's why shapes are rough. [ he starts adding a bit of detail ] See? These shapes will make the motorcycle if I spend some time on them. [ he makes a few more sketches ] Nah, I'm losing touch... I'm no longer feeling it...
You're not in position to be picky. [ Yeah, this student is getting on Genos nerves already ]
On the opposite! I need to do my absolute best [ he yawns ] It's Makoto by the way
no subject
'Wha-- no!! Art school is really tough! You cant just bullshit something and expect a good grade! I've also got tons of color theory to study too!' [ Makoto wheels around in his chair and holds up two brief thumbnail sketches for potential compositions. One is rather similar to his original sketch of the goat, but with a motorcycle added. The other is a far more dynamic shot that is more daring, but removes the focus from the goat. ] 'Which do you like more?
Uh... the right one? [ As Makoto turns to work on the sketch more, Saitama cups his hand over his mouth and whispers at Genos. ] Hey, when do we know we're done with this crap? This looks like it could take a while. [ Not that he had anything better to do. ]
no subject
'Aaahhh don't remind meee!!' [ Makoto hides face in his hands ] 'Only three days left. It's impossible. I can't do this
[ Genos just grits his teeth. He knows slapping this idiot wouldn't be a good idea, but he is tempted to ]
Shut up, and just focus on what you need to do! Check your notes, make a plan! [ Do not sleep till afternoon. Yes, hopeless ]
'Point!' [ Makoto corrects his glasses ] 'If you're here to help me then..ah, you'll be helpful!'
Start making sense or we're gone. [ It's an empty thread, but Genos is so done with this guy already. Thankfully Makoto is already writing something piece of paper ]
'I must compile a portfolio. Choose absolutely best works. And make three new ones with themes assigned ones by the school. You can't help me with learning, but you can help me with everything else. Check my works and pick the ones you like the most. I could use some new art supplies...
You could even' [ he turns around to face them and corrects his glasses again ] 'be my models!'
no subject
'Sure you do! You're practically doing it right now. Just make your pose more... dynamic!'
[ Saitama sticks his leg up in the air. ]
'And quit picking your nose.'
...
'Did you just wipe your finger off on my carpet?'
Uh...
'Aah! I can't deal with this right now. Here! Pick out ten pieces that you like best from those!' [ Makoto waves his hand in the general direction of various stacks of drawings and paintings. Some are leaned against the wall, others hanging, and some are in a messy pile on the floor. ]
Oh! This might actually be kinda fun. [ Saitama shuffles over to that corner of the room and starts sifting through the pile on the floor. ] Genos let him work on his motor-goat and come help me out.

This has nice colors, but is kind of boring. [ Genos shows a painting of a pyramid with giant eye, and lots of stars around. On closer inspection the eye turns to be a planet with rings, like Saturn, cleverly positioned. ]
But this one, this one is impressive. It must have taken forever to finish [ It's monochrome ink work on huge canvas. There is skull, with carved in norse runes. It's surrounded by a snake, and a wolf looms above the whole image. The snakeskin is ridiculously detailed, and wolf while mostly obscured by the darkness of background, still has some strands of fur lovingly detailed. ] Rest of this pile is pretty boring. Mostly mermaids with bad anatomy and unicorn phase.
'I can hear you guys, you know?' [ Makoto mutters from his table, but he's working really hard right now ]

[open] Supply Run
First getting to the city itself was at least an hour by train. Then checking the shops that not only were in different districts, but also were quite large to explore. With exams closing in, such few hour trip could make, or rather break the preparations.
As the only helper of his god, Genos undertakes the task of running that errand. After few hours he finds himself in Shibuya, around tons of people, hunting the wi-fi signal. With a tired expression on his face. Only internet can tell in what shops he can find which supplies.
Why the guy couldn't add such info on his list? It would make his life so much easier. ]
I really need to working number. [ so he won't need to hunt for wi-fi ] Or better phone
[ or both. Long time he stopped apologizing if he happened to collide with someone, as people tend to forget him in seconds ]
[open] Supply Run
[Tsuzuki stumbles back as Genos's shoulder hits his, and hisses, rubbing at the impact point. Wow, that guy's got to have muscles of iron. It feels like he ran into a lamppost or something, not a person.
It's probably futile to protest, considering most of the people out here don't notice him long enough to apologize in the first place, but if teaching people manners isn't a proper divine task, Tsuzuki doesn't know what is.]
no subject
People don't notice me anyway, so it felt like waste of breath
[ Yeah, that's the explanation. He's a brat. ]
no subject
...hey, wait a minute!
[Not only is this guy noticing him, but he's talking about how he goes unnoticed?]
You're from the Far Shore too?
[He looks Genos up and down, blinking.]
I don't think I've seen you around yet! Asato Tsuzuki, Tajimamori. [He gives Genos a quick little nice-to-meet-you bow.]
no subject
Is it really rude if they did't even register that it happened?
no subject
-- I think it's still rude. Just because they forget about you doesn't mean they're not going to have a sore shoulder later.
[He rubs his own shoulder, reminded, and glances down at Genos's hands.
Actually, they do look like they're made of metal. Is he wearing armor?! Or are those prosthetics?]
no subject
Wait, did that hurt?
no subject
Man, there's so many of us now....

You sound like you've been on this duty for a long time.

He's found a small place that needs somebody to do deliveries, and is considering the job. But he gets distracted when Genos bumps into him- that's way harder than most people- and so he looks up to see a fairly familiar face.]
Ah- it's you. Um... I'm sorry I don't think I got your name?
Having trouble?
no subject
Sorry, I got distracted. [ He navigates a bit on the side, as there is a bit of free space near the shop display. ] It's Genos. I never caught your name either.
And never thanked you properly for that boundary lesson. That was a lifesaver. [ Quite literally. ]
no subject
It's no problem. We should be looking out for each other, right?
no subject
---wait. [ Is he catching a signal? Yes, he is. That's wi-fi from the shop - or is it cafe? - they're next to. And it's not password protected. ] Oh, finally. [ He takes his eyes from the phone and explains ] I've been trying to find a stable internet spot. But most are for customers only, and require password.
no subject
Is your phone not picking up on your carrier's signal? Usually if you go to fast food joints or coffee shops they're open access.
no subject
Right now I'm trying to locate an art shop somewhere around here.
no subject
An art shop? I didn't think you were the crafting type.
