May Training
Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: July 15
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.
The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.
Shinki Training
- Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
Rest and Refreshments
- There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.
There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Don't get dehydrated
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~

[ Everything is really confusing. He's moving and breathing but he's supposed to be dead. This is the far shore as opposed to the near shore, but can't remember ever being in either place, ever. He's not alive but still kind of hungry. How fair is that? But that's not even the worst bit. He realizes that he doesn't know anybody. Like he just was born a few minutes ago, even though he's grown-up already. It's a little jarring to be so completely alone. (Though the messed up part of all this is: it's not even the first time this has happened to him. Not that he would know).
Thankfully, he doesn't have to stay alone, or so they say. He's going to have a partner! A god, whatever that means. What makes them a god? Are they more powerful than humans? Or 'shinki,' which is what he's told he is now? He's cool with that.
And so he eagerly waits for his god to find him, hopefully soon. Meanwhile, he's keeping busy squinting at the handbook for shinki, reading through it carefully. It's a lot of rules and stuff. ]
Halberd?
[ It says you're supposed to make your fingers into one, but he can't for the life of him figure out how. Halberds are kind of funny looking things, a curved axe on a pole. (How he knows this, he cannot recall. He just does). He stands there moving his fingers around, tentatively having a go at it. ]
Line!
[ Zing! Was that it? Maybe? Unsure. Hopefully you didn't get hit by his sort-of borderline. ]
refreshments (because of course)
[ Dying is tiring business, and it makes him terribly hungry. Things are looking up, though, because he gets a whiff of food coming from the gardens. He trots over and eagerly eyes the spread. Yes, this is perfect. He has a mouthful of sandwich and is already reaching for another one. Maybe it's the one you were trying to grab? ]
Mmmph?
[ Maybe that was a 'sorry.' ]
Refreshment
And mostly people keep out of her way otherwise, so it's not small wonder she's shocked when someone nabs a sandwich out from under her nose. She makes a spluttering, squawking noise of alarm and anger, whirling about to face the other.]
Hey! Mine! [She stamps a foot (immediately winces) and points accusingly] Do not steal what I was about to steal! Rude!
no subject
[ Goku nearly chokes on his food when the girl yells at him. He drops the sandwich like it's on fire. He coughs and coughs to clear his throat. Yikes! ]
S--sorry! I didn't know.
no subject
...Did not expect to actually drop. [Usually people just ignore her yelling by this point, but sh reaches for one of the bottled energy drinks to shove at him as he coughs] Ack, but do not die! They will blame me! [Maybe. Either way she doesn't want to deal with it.]

shinki training - I'm sorry
She notices a young man standing with a pamphlet matching the one in her hands. After skimming through it, Ayumu has a vague understanding that he's trying to follow the instructions given for a borderline whatevers is. Personally, she's been stuck trying to figure what a halberd's supposed to be and how she's supposed to make her fingers look like one so she approaches him, hoping that he might be able to answer.
Ayumu's not quite sure what just came flying at her but muscle memory kicks in to urge her to dodge with a quick sideways roll. She doesn't really know what she's doing but her instincts are driving her to counter something that in the heat of the moment appears to be some sort of attack. So she attempts to mimic what she's seen other shinki do with their hands and shouts.]
Line!
[But nothing happens on her end. Her fingers aren't in right shape. This would probably work much better if she had a clue what a halberd was.]
<3!
His hand reaches back behind him and fwwwwip!! he feels something pole-like connect with his palm. It's a long staff. What the heck?? Where did that come from?
Goku quickly pulls himself up to his feet, holding the staff awkwardly and staring at the girl (his attacker?) and blinking. ]
Um. Are you okay?
no subject
No attack comes, however, and with a question like that, it doesn't seem like one's going to come so Ayumu takes a deep breath and relaxes, letting the adrenalin flow back to where it belongs.]
Yes. I'm fine. Sorry about that. I was a little... startled.
[Understatement but Ayumu's a little embarrassed by both her overreaction and abysmal failure to create that borderline.]

shinki training!
It's like this.
[He forms his hand into the right shape as he comes to a stop next to Goku and holds it out for a moment so he can see it, and then jerks his arm in a sharp line out in front of him.
Which does absolutely nothing, of course, since he doesn't have that power. He smiles warmly at Goku once he's done demonstrating anyway.]
But it looked like you were pretty close already.
no subject
Hey, thanks!
[ He gives him a friendly smile. ] I'm Goku! I'm kinda new here. Guess you can tell. Heh.
no subject
Maybe a little. But I bet there's a lot of people who have been here who wouldn't do any better. This is only the first or second time they've starting teaching that stuff right away.
[Look, it was almost three months before he even saw someone cast a borderline, so Goku is doing super good to be learning it on the first day as far as he's concerned.
...Oh, yes, he's supposed to introduce himself. That is definitely a thing that needs to happen here.]
I'm Suzugamori Ren. !'m also your new teammate. It's nice to meet you.

Well, at least seeing Goku cast a borderline has already made it clear that he can't say anything. It's a relief, in a way, to see him here. Hakkai still isn't sure what happens to the souls of the vanished gods and shinki, although, if he himself had vanished, he can at least say that it's painless. He remembers nothing.]
Please watch where you're casting. Was that your first try?
no subject
[ He grins sheepishly at the reproach. It must be pretty obvious that he doesn't know what he's doing. Goku isn't sure he's much of a bookish learner though. He just has to do the thing to get better at it. If he can master it without a big accident, that would be nice. ]
Yeah, kinda. I have this thing they gave me that tells me how.
[ See? He lifts it up to show him. ]
Are you a shinki too?
no subject
[He smiles, swiftly but briefly. Goku's cheerful good nature shines through even without his memories.
So this time, it seems, it's his turn to be the only one of the traveling party that remembers. Gojyo had served his time already, and Hakkai hadn't realized just how much strain the responsibility must have been.
It did explain the way he'd been determinedly drinking through a wine god's cellars.]
My name is Hakkai.

Line!
[ And down her hand swings, creating the bright blue semi-transparent border wall between the two of them. It stays there solid for a moment as she recovers her standing position and smiles at him a little cheekily. ]
Was that a test?
no subject
[ Her line is much better, making not really a line but entire wall thing that actually snaps back his own attempt. ]
Cool! How'd you do that?
no subject
[She giggles a bit.]
But you did it! Just now, you did it. It's a Borderline.
... Or did they maybe not explain the difference between the wall and the dagger?
[She calls it a dagger, anyway.]

Would it sound any different if you were eating something else, Zeno wonders!
[And he finds the sweets -- what, who said you have to finish your sandwich first -- and offers him a plate.]
Try the cheesy cake!
no subject
[ Goku swallows and repeats himself: ]
Thanks!
[ He takes the sandwich he was reaching for also, tucks it away for later, and then reaches for the cheesy cake. It does look like cheese. But is it also a cake? It smells creamy and sweet. ]

He was a bit apprehensive, because last time he met his comrade in arms there was a fight and a sever unwelcoming party. So, he at least want to let this other one have something good.
He tilts his head as he spots him, Ren told him what he looked like and his name. And he's already trying out borderlines. He walks up a bit more to try and see what he did wrong. He could help perhaps. ]
Already practicing, huh?
no subject
After some time looking around for someone who might look like him, Goku decides to just get back to training and wait to meet him later tonight, at home. (Home, it has a nice sound to it).
He stops what he's doing when a boy walks up to him. Is this him? Goku smiles brightly. ]
Uh huh. I think I'm getting a little better! [ Maybe? People have been giving him pointers, at least. ]
