Look around, look around

Who: Izumo and Open
When: Early August
Where: Far Shore, possibly Near Shore.
What: Post-Ablution stuff. Coping with missing friends and returned memories. Izumo doesn't appreciate haunting season.

A. Cnoc Áine - After Shizuo’s Ablution

[After performing the ablution on Shizuo with Chikusa and Goten, Izumo has decided to stick around Yona’s temple to keep an eye on the two. Normally he wouldn’t be around the temple so much, only ever coming and go briefly to visit Shizuo or Yona. He usually sticks to the room that ended up being his, but he’s actually out and about in the temple now.

If he looks a little tired, just pretend that he isn’t instead.

However, anyone around the temple might spot him in the halls or somewhere outside. Come and talk to him? Drink with him?]

B. Double Cross Bar - Memories On A Wall

[The moment he’s learned that Sora and Roxas are gone, Izumo felt a bit—not sad, per se, but something close to it. While he wouldn’t exactly call himself sentimental, he’s decided that putting up a photo wall can be at least one way of keeping memories alive.

So, after a day or two, he puts up a post on the BBS:]

If anyone has any photos of Sora and Roxas, mind if I have a copy? I’m working on a project right now, so I thought it’d be good to start with those two first.

[Anyone who does come to the bar will find Izumo leaning against the counter, focused on a blank wall to the side. He seems thoughtful, though he does glance over at anyone who comes in.]

C. When Will Dreams End? [Closed to Totsuka]

[He sent a text to Totsuka earlier that morning upon awakening. It’s not like how he reacted when he first remembered Anna, but now some things the man has said the few times they’ve met makes sense.

Choosing his bar instead of Mikoto’s temple or Totsuka’s temple was a good place to talk. With it still closed, it gives them the proper privacy they need.

Really, Izumo didn’t enjoy waking up suddenly remembering people from his past life, but it’s even worse now because this time, he’s aware of one fact about the god: he’s dead.

By the time Totsuka comes to the bar, Izumo already has a drink in front of him.]

D. Fade to Black

[It’s August.

It’s summer and it’s haunting season.

So, it’s not surprising that Izumo is being haunted by some ghosts that decides to play with him. Which is why he’s looking fairly unimpressed at a floating lighter, the sounds of childish giggles heard around him.]

Hm, well, at least you're managing to get some practice with it.

[A head pat.]

Ahuh. But it takes a bunch of energy to keep up. I don't think I could do it now if I wanted to.

[Give him another day or so and Goten will be back up to speed. ablutions are not fun]

Besides that and finding that weird food under my pillow everything else has been quiet. I made some new frien--[GASP!]--Izumo! Izumo! Guess what? Eric and me are friends now! He even said so!

[Look, a lot has happened but that is still super imporant and he's so pleased by it considering how his encounters with Eric went before!]

Weird food?

[Why is there food under your pillow, Goten?

But hearing the news, Izumo smiles.]

That so? I'm glad to hear it, Goten. Eric really could use a friend like you.

Ahuh. I woke up and it was just there.

[Don't mind him as he reaches into his gi and pulls out a small brown with a string keeping it closed. Glancing at it, he tosses it to Izumo]

I donno what it is but I think I remember you told me not to eat things I didn't know where they came from...

[See? He does listen, still he can't keep the smile off his face about Eric. Izumo is happy to hear it too]

You think so? I'll be a good friend to Eric, I promise!

[He catches the bag. The sight of it earns a curious look from Izumo, and he wonders if he should test it out later.

At least by trying it out, he can know for sure whether or not it safe. So, he gives a nod.]

Thank you for remembering, Goten. It'd be bad if this turned out to be bad for you.

[His smile widens.]

I'm counting on you then.

That didn't look bad but not tasty either. They're green beans....it sorta reminded me how Nimbus first showed up. Just suddenly there...aymeric wouldn't of done that.

[He figured Izumo would know best, so handing them over to the older shinki seemed like the best thing to do. And he really will do his best with Eric! Nod nod!]

Green beans, huh? Odd thing to show up under your pillow.

[But he'll tuck the pouch away into his pocket.]

What did you and Eric end up doing?

Yeah...

[He almost sounds disappointed. Candy or something sweet would have been better but then it probably wouldn't of gotten to Izumo]

We flew around on Nimbus together! I think he really liked it and I told him I'd take him flying whenever he wanted and if he wanted to spar or train, we could do that too!

[Good choice Goten. Izumo will keep it safe.

But listening to the shinki talk about what he did with Eric makes the last few days seem brighter.]

I'm glad. It sounded like you two had a lot of fun.

[Naturally he trusts Izumo with everything.]

We did! I think we really did. I wanted Eric to have the must fun though. I think I made up for that time I made him mad. He said sorry about it even though he did have to.

[As tired as Goten feels, it still brings out some energy just talking about it. He made two new friends recently and it's Eric and Hitsu and thats awesome.]

What about you. Have you had anything happen? Besides looking after Shizuo and Yona?

Eric is kind. [Because he can understand that the other shinki has been going through some rough times after that aging event.] You said he rode on Nimbus?

[A thoughtful look before he smiles.]

No, it's been quiet, but I've been thinking of doing a personal project lately. It involves having some pictures, though.

Yep! I let him climb onto Nimbus since he didn't like me carrying him last time.

[Goten does try to learn from his mistakes most of the time.]

Personal project? Are you going to become one of those people that take pictures of random things with a fancy camera?

I'm glad you two were able to have fun then. Nimbus must've been excited to have someone else riding it.

[He ruffles his hair.]

Not exactly. I've never been good at taking pictures, but I was thinking of building a photo wall. That way, we can keep pictures of some of the happier times of our days here.

Ahuh!

[Goten grins at that. He did good!]

So pictures of all your friends and stuff and things that happen? You should take a picture of the bar too now that its back up. I'm happy its back so you must be super happy.

[Apparently the building falls into the friends/family category for Goten somehow]

[You have no idea how happy he is.

Izumo chuckles.]

I really should take a picture of the bar.

Which reminds me, you'll need to see the second floor of the bar now, too.

[PERK!]

That's right! I haven't had the chance to see that part yet! Everything...that's happened, I sorta didn't get to.

[He was so excited for the second floor too. Then Shizuo happened....He's still excited just beat.]

I can't wait! I do need to see it. It means I can hang out with you more too.

[He smiles.]

Well, we can go now so you can see it.

[A faint look of amusement.]

The rules are still in place, though, Goten, even if you do stay over on some nights.

You don't have to stay here? You look tired....

[He's not against the idea. He really does want to see it but he also knows Izumo is probably worn out too.]

Mmm....

[He knows that, he's still excited though]

I know but someday the rules gotta change, right?

I'll be okay, Goten. No need to worry.

[Izumo is always worn out.

He grins.]

One day, but not any day soon.

You always say that. If too tired to fly, you gotta be super tired.

[Goten is just pointing out facts here]

[He grins right back, matching it even--or trying to]

...I feel like you just want me to go to sleep.

[He definitely looks amused now.

Izumo shakes his head.]

For now, the rules are still in place. And we both know that if you try using Umbra, it might not work out for the best for you.

If you sleep, I'll sleep.

[It's a win-win. But Goten really does want to see the second story. But Izumo....but the second story, but izumo]

.....What would happen if I did? Hippo...Hypo...?[Goten pauses and lifts his hand, making gestures. There's a word. A word he's heard lots of times that means what he wants.] ....Just for pretend!

I suppose that's fair.

[Goten, pick one.

Izumo either gets sleep or you get to see the second story.]

'Hypothetically'. [He says it slowly enough for Goten to listen to it carefully.] Well, you might not get to sleep over at the bar at nights anymore.

Mmmmm what do you wanna do more?

[Don't make him choose! He wants both!

But its the next bit that has him sitting up on Nimbus, leaning more to the side Izumo is walking next to]

You don't mean that! Izumo....that's not fair.

We can go to the bar and just take a nap there.

[Compromise.

Izumo laughs.]

It's only fair if you break the rules to sneak in.
