What: Why flowers are bad, GODDAMN CAT, and an Ishgardian attempts to tourist in one of the largest cities in Japan




1. Red Flowers (Major Spoilers for Heavensward) *Closed to CR only*

[It was unusual for such flowers to spring out of Forseti's temple grounds given that the occupant was not even a novice when it came to gardening. The hawks did not know what to make of them so they stayed on the trees and roof, keeping watch if they did more than sprout. The owner had never seen them in his homeland so like most who were curious, Aymeric wanted to get a closer look at the ones within the outside cracks of his main walkway.]

Peculiar flowers...why are they here? Mayhap due to the recent celebration?

[He kneels down to get a better look but he freezes. He swears he just heard a voice just now...and something familiar about it.]


2. That Darn Cat! (Open)

[Ever seen a old white fluff cat wandering around the Far Shore for some odd reason? Did he bite or claw you when you tried to pet him and you're not a child? Did you catch him fighting another cat and attempted to break it apart? Or maybe he was playing with some shiny toy? Or maybe you just saw him and decided to follow the crazy beast back to his lair.

Either way, the cat has an owner and if you see him, you may want to explain what happened.]


3. An Ishgardian in Tokyo (Open)

...what is a cosplayer?

[The one time Aymeric decides to venture somewhere not in Europe or Heligoland, someone decides to ask him that due to his pointy ears. All he wants to do is see what the big deal is about Tokyo and why this Tower was a good thing. But he thought that no one would notice him in a crowd...despite being 6'5. Hells, he's not even wearing his armor! Too hot for it.

That just means that he has to go to default for now; Near Shore residents may not be able to see him but Far Shore folks can.]

Aymeric? What's wrong?

[Leo was in the mood to visit his beloved (he still can't adjust to "boyfriend" and Aymeric dislikes "lover"), so he appears at the temple doorstep just in time to see Aymeric freeze in shock at the flower. He heads over to join him, just in case it's something terrible.]

Did you hurt--

[Worthless boy.

Leo goes white. Why is he hearing her voice?]

[He doesn't take notice of Leo's presence at first, the voice being more loud and persistant.

"I had thought to pass the robes to you, my son. They need order. They need a king."

Those words almost as same as the ones spoken before being taken to the Vault. Aymeric knew them well for it was his father who spoke them, to so called keep order within Ishgard's walls. But Thordan's voice is hard, as if he were passing judgement. But yet another voice joins...and more.

"You took their peace away when you exposed the truth."
"The blood of your father stains your hands."
"Why take away their ignorance when they were happier fighting a common enemy?"
"The people need to be led, not lead themselves. Order is much easier kept that way."

It was as if the color from his face drained as the words continued to shake him. It was one thing to hear it from those who still take breath but from the dead...and those whose deaths were because of him is horrifying. His hand slightly moves, feeling Leo's and he shakes realising that he isn't alone.]

Leo...? What-?

[And that look on his dear one's face. Uh oh.]

Leo?!

[Leo doesn't hear Aymeric at first, unable to process anything but the words he can hear his mother saying.

Why did you kill him? He was going to help us! Ugh, now you'll be three steps behind everyone else and then we'll never be rulers! Is this what you want, Leo?! Do you want your mother to die because you wouldn't go with him?

It's Aymeric's hand in his that snaps Leo out of it. He comes around with a start and throws himself at the older man, not crying but certainly shaking.]

3 - August 15

[Another day, another wander through the Near Shore.
Today's aimless wandering lands him near a growing group of people clustering around one very tall person. With black hair and... pointy ears.]

Geh-! Aymeric-sama?!

[Edging his way in closer he captures the attention of the person who'd asked Aymeric about cosplay while trying to subtly push at the god, prompting him to back away.]

It's pretty good, right? But he's, uh... not in full costume right now, so just hang around here for a while, okay?

[As he speaks he backs away himself. He hopes the people will take that as an answer, and promptly forget about it once they get out of here.]

[Wait so cosplayers are people who wear costumes? That's rather weird but what does he know; he's just thankful that someone managed to explain it somewhat and it's someone he knows. But the people were just curious about how he crafted his ears so realistically that they couldn't help but admire them.

Thankfully the suggestion helps and the group starts to disperse, letting Aymeric slip away without any more fuss.]

[As the people leave Yukine sighs softly in relief and leads the way towards a quieter side street.]

Haha, if you're that tall, with pointy ears, wandering around certain parts of Tokyo? Sure. Probably happens a lot. [Those bright blue eyes wouldn't help either. (But his own eyes are red-orange so who is he to talk?)]

Anyway, no problem. What'cha doing down here anyway, Aymeric-sama? Answering a prayer? You really shouldn't go to the Near Shore without a shinki, though.

[There is a cat on him.

This cat thinks he's a child and has decided that, yes, he would be a comfortable pillow. For whatever reason, he has the cat in his arms and decides to pursue the owner.

It might not take too long before he either runs into Aymeric or Aymeric finds him.]

[Aymeric doesn't find him first but rather the hawks around Forseti's temple do. Perched on the border, some of the birds spot the cat and god, screeching and flying away. It's enough to get someone to speak up but they aren't seen as of yet.]

Whatever is the matter? You are not as easily startled.

[Despite being fierce hunter birds, they surely get nervous around that cat...]

It might be because of the cat.

[He approaches the temple almost cautiously, not minding the hawks as they scamper away.

At the very least, he recognizes Forseti's temple from where the hawks came from and he eyes the other god almost curiously.]

What are you doing, Aymeric? Did you see a cool bug or something?

[Goten is only a couple steps behind the god and he can't really see what he's looking at. He's already noticed the red lilies that how sprouted around the temple but hadn't really bothered too much with them. They were pretty but other then that, they hadn't really caught Goten's attention]

[He doesn't hear Goten at all, eyes fixated on the flowers before him. He can hear the voice speak to him, light and airy and joyous.

"Oh come now Ser Aymeric, why do you sound so glum?"

There is something that passes through Aymeric's lips but it's rather quiet and unintelligible...a name maybe?]

[He blinks, head tilting to the side. Did Aymeric really not hear him? He looks back and forth between Aymeric and flower before walking closer. He frowns a bit before moving around behind him and jumps onto the god's back and in the same movement reaches around to gently cover both Aymeric's eyes with small hands.]

[ Nanako had spotted Mandragora while she'd been out and about today so she had shown up outside Aymeric's temple a short while later, toddling up the walk with the large fluffy cat draped in her arms. Which was quite a sight, because the feline is probably half the size of Nanako when all stretched out like this.

The little girl sets Mandragora down on the front stoop before leaning over to shake a finger at the cat. ]

You shouldn't wander away so far! You could get lost and then you'd make Aymeric get all worried!

[Mandragora on the other hand yawns and flops down on the step, presenting his belly to Nanako like typical cats do. But there is a voice behind her attached to a man covered in dirt with what looks like some gardening tools in a pocket.]

I always worry about him but he's more stubborn than what most give him credit for. I was curious as to why the hawks were more quiet than normal today.

[ Nanako glances up with a smile and wave when she hears his voice, happy to see him. ]

Hello, Aymeric! I found him in the park, he was hunting squirrels, I think.

A cosplayer is someone who dresses up in costumes and play that they're that person the costume belongs to.

[ He doesn't know the proper definition but it's something like that. Hello, by the way, hope he wasn't disturbing. He was just passing by on his way to buy some ice cream after giving a lesson. ]

If you visit a convention you'll see even more cosplayers though.

[Convention goes right over his head but at least he could manage the definition well enough. Aymeric is more accustomed to terms like masquerade than cosplay so it's easier.]

Ah, so that is the meaning! I am used to a different term all together!

[Well at least they aren't seen by Near Shore folk for the moment; which is the reason why he asked at all.]

There is a strangeness in others inquiring how my ears 'look natural without it looking like garbage'. My thanks for the answer.

[What the hell! This stupid cat -- ! Snow hadn't even done anything! He'd simply been out sunning himself, as was normal on a beautiful summer day. Then suddenly, this strange animal was rubbing on him and being a general nuisance, and then -- !]

[It. Had. The audacity. To BITE him!]

You wretched fleabag! Get back here!

[It wasn't as if Snow had tried to shoo it away from getting hair on him... and it wasn't as if Snow had shooed the cat by attempting to kick it...]

[Snow might have kicked the cat.]

Get back here so I can tear you apart!

[So now Snow White was running in a most ungraceful way, bent on punishing this cat for daring to mar his perfect skin, and about to summon a few of his own pets.]

[While punishment is needed for the biting, there was no reason for the man to actually kick the feline. But even for an older cat, Mandragora ran quickly therefore leading Snow White to another temple entrance.

But with several hawks on the fence. Watching. Waiting.

So...do you continue to follow the cat further in?]

[Upon finding the cat, of course Add tries to pet it first. That goes... poorly. But when it comes to felines, Add isn't the type to give up easily. He will gain this random cat's love and affection...!!

Luckily, he has a laser-targeting system installed on his dynamos, and if there's one thing no cat can resist it's a tiny red dot of light. He ends up following the fluffy white cat all the way to a temple, a single dynamo poised over his shoulder to control the beam while the cat chases it around. He's already long forgotten what he even went out for, but it's hard to be in a bad mood when there are cats involved. This is one of those few times Add is actually smiling genuinely and not because he's being a shit to someone.

He crouches down after awhile, luring the cat closer to himself with the laser to try to pet it one more time...]

[If it helps, Mandragora is always grumpy around anyone not his owner or two of the resident children of the Far Shore. But the red dot is a new thing and he's curious about it. Also why is it hard to grab?!

While the cat is preoccupied, his owner starts to turn around the corner, having worked in the dirt to start a small garden. Tilling is hard work! But he stops and decides to move back, watching the newcomer and his feline play without any hissing or biting. He wants to see where this goes ok.]

[So here's the thing about Hestia's temple. Not only does it possess a goat that is near permanently leashed up somewhere in the front yard... But it also possesses a certain split-tailed demon cat.]

[The residents call her Pookie. Her demands to be called Ironclaw the Destroyer have so far been ignored.]

[Also being ignored is her screeching at this intruder to leave, so there's that literal cat fight happening before she hauls ass after the other cat.... with Chikusa slowly shuffling after.]

[Not because he cares, but because one of his hats has gone hidden and he knows it's her fault.]

[And folks thought Mandragora a demon of the void. He thought he could take her but handling an actual demon was difficult...hence why he bolted the fuck out as soon as he could.

Leaving the temple grounds, he soon runs into a pair of familiar elezen legs along with his owner looking down and...oh boy he doesn't look happy.]

[Oh look, it's one of Mandragora's favorite scratching posts. He's gone wandering back to where he used to travel a lot, closer to his former god's temple, and definitely didn't catch the little hellion meandering around in the street until it was too late. There was a yowl, Yoon jumped back, and then they had a good old fashioned stare-down...

Until Yoon decides the best thing he can do is call Aymeric without moving. Ring ring sir, it's Yoon.]

[Ok, this is weird. He's being called on but thankfully he's still in the Far Shore. Godsdamned fancy linkpearls...]
