Who: Aymeric and Leo
When: December 5th, evening
Where: The Near Shore, Tokyo
What: Date Night. It happening, folks.

[It took some research, time, and a little trip into the city itself but Aymeric finally managed to get a good idea of what to do for him and his dearest. The idea came to mind when the elezen wanted to accomplish two matters: to be a good man and court Leo properly (as much as they enjoyed their quiet time with books) and a way to thank the man for not only being one of the ones who saved him in the forest but took care of him during his recovery. Patience of a saint sometimes with how many times Aymeric would disobey and not rest at first.

Once he gathered enough information and some ideal spots, he was ready to call Leo and propose his plan. No children or business for them that night, he wanted to make sure both of them (but mainly Leo) could have fun. We’d say wind down but some of the things Aymeric has up his sleeve would not be considered as such. He arrives at Leo’s temple and knocks on the door. Ok so he comes over a lot, it’s still a good thing to do to knock and be polite after all. It’s only when the door opens, he smiles and holds out his hand.]

You look wonderful tonight. Shall we?

[There are batteries inside for sure! It would be a shitty thing to do to take out the batteries and have players try to find them. I mean, unless you wanna be a dick.]

Quite odd for an item to be in there...does it turn on?

[There's a small button to do so; and Aymeric decides to press it. Good news, it works! Bad news, he accidentally had it pointed directly into his eyes. Surprise!]

Ah! Tis a strange light! Why is the color blue?

[20 Minutes Remain]

[He chuckles.]

Aymeric, give me that before your hurt yourself. Maybe something in here is only visible in blue light.

Mayhap...there should be a switch close by.

[And there is; right next to where they entered. Going over, he flips it off, leaving them both in darkness.]

Alright, try it now.

[brynwieldr]

[Leo pans the light over the walls, mirror, and stool. Anything?]

[onedrinkwithme]

[Nothing on the mirror but there is something revealed on the left wall when the light shines over it: letters.]

Oh! It looks like another riddle...'What looks back but cannot see?'

[Hmm, it's starting to come a bit together he thinks. Maybe.]

Reflection.

[To the mirror!]

Well, we know that the mirror isn't just a distraction now.

[He flips the light back on just in case and ponders. One riddle pointed to a prop hence 'reflection'. But what about 'breath', the answer to another riddle. What could breath mean to anything in this room?]

What if...

[Aymeric has to look back on whenever he uses a mirror himself. What comes to mind at first was how it fogs off after a shower or bath, when the room gets warm-]

Hold on...

[Going to the mirror, he gets close and starts to breathe on it. The object starts to get misty but certain spots seem to not budge and stay clear...only they do not spell letters but numbers in the form of a message.

15 Minutes Remain.]

Aymeric, get that pen and get ready to write out the letters that go with these numbers.

[He nods and pulls out the notebook and copies down the numbers quickly.]

I will admit that it is good that these letters are similar to the ones I am familiar with...

[Keeping the list key with him, he rapidly fills in the number clues with the letters. Takes a couple minutes but he hopefully got it.]

Ah! I believe I got it: 'Three Steps Forward, Six Steps to the Left.
Tap Twice and Listen.' Or that is what I have gotten.

Aymeric, love, I've seen your handwriting.

[They're barely similar to the ones he's familiar with.

Leo nods and proceeds to follow the instructions, tapping on the wall he stops in front of.]

[He sees nothing wrong with that! Going next to him, he presses his ear to the wall to hear anything particular noises...only to hear silence. Leo did follow the directions to the T and yet there doesn't seem to be anything saying yes.]

Tis strange. Unless...

[These puzzles usually have more than one option and if the wall wasn't it then...? He steps back to the mirror again and follows the puzzle's instructions: three steps forward, six steps to the left. Right back to where Leo is but if the wall isn't correct, where else can it be...?]

If not the walls then...

[He looks down at the floor and it might be silly but the rule to these escape rooms is usually a lot of stuff isn't as what it seems. He lies down on the floor, presses his ear to the smooth surface and taps twice, waiting for a response.

Then...he hears a CLANG followed by another. So it was the floor that held the answer! He touches the floorboard and notices it shifting a bit. Wait a second-!]

I'll hold this up and you can reach down and see what is waiting for us.

[brynwieldr]

[Oh. That would work, yes.

Leo nods and kneels down, reaching into the slot when Aymeric holds the floorboard up.]

Surely this isn't the key...

[onedrinkwithme]

[He would be right. No metal to grasp but another sheet for yet another riddle. Probably why these games are a bit hard are with all the things they like to throw out there.]

'I move very fast but I don't have feet. You can hear me but not for my mouth. I can bring down a building yet I'm not a machine.'

[Oh, this seems a little different but Aymeric seems to have noticed a pattern with these riddles. Maybe. Once they get out he can confirm.

Speaking of...10 Minutes Remain.]

The wind. But we're in a building.

True but that is the thing about these technologies of this realm, it can bring things we would not expect to go into a building.

We now must think of the connection to wind with this room. Or rather, is there anything that can bring wind here?

[brynwieldr]

....a fan? But I don't see one...

[onedrinkwithme]

[So what's in the room?

The mirror that won't budge, the stool, the doors, and that floorboard. But nothing that shows wind to his eye. There's the lights to illuminate the room and some weird hole with a cover in the wall for Halone knows what-wait.]

Leo, did you notice that piece that reaches the top of the wall but not on the ceiling?

[brynwieldr]

...no, because I'm about a half a foot shorter than you. You're taller, go see what you can do with it.

[onedrinkwithme]

[He nods and goes to check it out. Despite his height, his fingertips can only reach the bottom of the strange cover and manages to pop it off. But he cannot reach inside.]

I cannot reach inside but I can give you a boost.

[He can either lift or let him sit on his shoulders. Either way, both need to work to check it.

5 Minutes Remain.]

[Leo goes over and indicates for Aymeric to lift him up.]

[He'll use his hands to boost Leo up by his feet and lift him to the wall hole (ventilation system but like he knows the term) and with reaching in a bit, Leo will not find just another riddle...but a key. There's a riddle attached to the key but it's short unlike the others:

'The end at absorb.']

Is there anything there?

The key, and there's another riddle--I think it's door B.

[onedrinkwithme]

[Once Leo gets the key, Aymeric will set him down and nod.]

Well then...care to do the honors?

[brynwieldr]

Gladly.

[Leo smiles and leans up to steal a kiss before going over to door B and sliding the key it. It unlocks, of course, and they're out with seconds to spare.]

[Upon exiting, the staff members come out and clap and give their congratulations for escaping. Aymeric himself found it rather refreshing that some of the things in order to find the clues were not just riddles but that they had to check areas that may seem farfetched.]
