Who: Nanako and EVERYONE!
When: Early March
Where: The BRAND NEW Shelter of Nanshe in the Central District
What: Nanako's Temple has moved and gotten a makeover! So this seems the perfect time to have a party and also to watch the blooming cherry blossoms!


[ Nanako's Temple had moved once before, so that in itself wasn't all that surprising, especially after almost an entire year here now. But she hadn't been expecting the Temple to change completely, adding more rooms and more of a homier vibe than the shrine had had before. Parts of it reminded her a little more of what her big brother's temple had felt like when he'd been here, and she's grateful for that, although she's a little worried because there seems to be so many rooms that she keeps finding in so many nooks and crannies. Maybe her temple just goes on forever now?

Either way, the move timed as it is seems like the perfect excuse to throw a big picnic outdoors on the grounds around her temple, which seems perfectly suited to host a large number of her friends over at any given time. And with her temple surrounded by cherry trees, their blossoms full and colorful right now, it makes the setting an inviting little corner to sit an mingle for a while.

The day before, every single temple in the Heavens would have found a carefully-crafted invitation on their doorstep, the words carefully written out in a childish hand, inviting them to a Cherry Blossom Viewing at Nanshe's Shelter. There's even a carefully drawn little map on the back to show them where to go, since Nanako doesn't want anyone getting lost on their way to the new location.

There are blankets laid out in the grass beneath the trees and on the wood and stone patios are little tables and chairs clustered together invitingly. There is food set out on a stretching buffet, the platters somehow never seeming to run low on food. There are decorations strung up along the outside of the temple and around the trees in pink and creams, although some of them certainly look to have been made or put up by decidedly childish hands.

As for the goddess herself, she flits about the party with a bright smile, happy to see everyone who shows up and making sure her friends are having fun, or maybe introducing herself to anyone she hasn't met yet. ]

[Oscar is. Not sure about this, but he thinks he remembers Nanshe and she was a cute little girl, so why not? He pulls together the sort of housewarming gift his aunt would have brought--namely a cake and some cookies, because she's a child and kids love that sorta thing--and makes his way to Nanshe's temple.


And one the sweets are sorted, Oscar is just going to wander around, checking out the place as much as he feels comfortable. This is a nice temple.]

[ Nanako's eyes have gone wide and round at the sight of the treats Oscar shows up with and she hurries over to greet him with a bright smile. ]

Hi! You came! I'm glad! But you didn't have to bring anything!

[ Oh look, a stranger. When he's settled down with some snacks on a blanket or in a chair, Kairi wanders over with a plate of snacks as well. ]

Hi there - is this seat taken?

[ She gestures to a spot next to him. Seemed like a perfect spot from which to start a chat. ]

[ A party, hm? And one thrown by a child, at that. Hibiki's interactions with this particular child have been exceedingly limited, but from what she's seen on the PPS she gathers that Nanako is quite the beloved goddess among her fellow deities. The Near Shore must feel the same.

Something is wrong with every part of the Near Shore except the part that worships her.

Still, a fellow God of the Central District is a fellow God of the Central District. Hibiki supposes she should develop an in-person impression of someone who's been such a success, and thus, here she is. On the outskirts, watching, tea in hand, a spygoat at her side while another one rolls about the party in search of Nanako. Hibiki plans to find the girl, make her greetings, and go.

Also, it's hard to tell if the spygoat finds Nanako or if the little goddess finds the spygoat. Either way, there is a sudden exclamation of glee before the goat is captured in a pair of tightly-hugging arms. ]

[ Kairi sees her from a few feet away and walks over to see her. For her part, Kairi is wearing a cute new flowery dress and magenta cover. ]

I heard you're a Goddess of Fortune now? Congratulations - I'm sorry I didn't get to say so sooner.

[A: new kid on the block]

[Sora is new in town and he is assigned as Nanako’s newest shinki. While he is still learning the ropes and all of the ins and outs of being a divine instrument there is nothing to learn about how to party. In fact, that comes rather naturally to him.

He spends much of the party helping Nanako with this and that and also greeting the new guests. He greets with a happy smile.]

Hey! Thanks for coming! I’m Sora. Is there anything I can get you?

[This is his new home after all and he wants to do his best to get along with his goddess’s friends and acquaintances.]

[B: so that new kotatsu]

[With the new temple came a new piece of furniture. A kotatsu! A table-bed thing that Sora adores. Sometime during the party, Sora ends up sitting at the kotatsu and getting so cozy underneath the warm comforter that he outright falls asleep.

Feel free to poke him awake or stack paper origami figurines on him. The paper is laid out on the tabletop.]

[C: we still have pet pelicans]

[Sora can be found outside with a bucket of what appears to be fresh fish. He’s crouching down and beckoning some of the smaller pelicans to come closer for a snack. While he tries to push away some of the bigger ones that are being big and bullying their way in for the fish feed.]

Hey, wait your turn! The little guys need some snacks too!

[Leo didn't really want to come to this party. He doesn't know the girl all that well--though he thinks Niles was fond of her--and he's been warned about Sora running around as a shinki. But he honestly needed to get out of the house and Nanako was probably the most harmless option right now.

So there is Leo. Not really interacting with the party. On his tablet.

That Sora got him.

[You know, if he were a child, he'd probably pull a prank or something equally as dumb. However, Aymeric is an adult and decides against it, instead sitting down beside the sleeping dork and simply begins to fold small cranes. He can use the practice.

...and maybe one of them is in Sora's hair. The spikes could hold it there.]

[ Of course Nanako notices when suddenly Sora isn't bouncing around the party anymore, although it takes her a bit to locate him inside again. Lifting a hand to hide her giggle, she pauses a moment before reaching for one of the throw blankets left on the nearby couch and bringing it to wrap around Sora's shoulders where he sleeps.

...Only it's one of Nanako's blankets so now there's a sleeping Sora covered up in a very pink kitty blanket. There's a lot of hearts... ]

[ Kairi is wearing a cute new flowery dress and magenta cover when she gets her turn walking up the front steps of the temple, to see Sora there playing host with ease. She is not very subtly holding a massive gift for Nanako, which contains a giant plush rabbit. So it's entirely possible that Sora doesn't recognize Kairi until she lowers the gift to the ground temporarily after she hears Sora's greeting. ]

[ She knew Sora was Nanako's shinki, at least. She got that warning thanks to Nanako. ]

So Nanako's your goddess, huh?

[Even prepared for such things given Nanako's own personality, Sora's friendliness still manages to catch Celty slightly off balance. Mostly she just worries about being a bother herself. She fumbles with her phone briefly before typing up a reply, holding it out for him to read.]

Ah. No. I'm fine.
Should I have brought something? I feel bad coming here empty handed.

[Nanshe is... not a god she's met before, she's pretty sure, but far be it from Yuna to turn down such an earnestly crafted invitation, or the opportunity to enjoy a flower viewing session.

It'd be rude to show up to a party empty handed, especially if it's for someone she has yet to actually meet, so Yuna's brought her own picnic basket with her, topped off with plenty of flower-viewing-appropriate goodies. A deck of cards, sheets of origami paper, some light snacks... all packaged neatly under the most important thing of all: a gift for the gracious hostess!

She can easily be found wandering the outside of the temple and admiring the layout and effort put into decorating for the party, sampling the food, or doing exactly what's expected out of a party like this and relaxing under one of the trees and simply enjoying the view.]

[ Nanako had expected a bunch of her friends to come, but she gets excited when she spots some faces she hasn't seen before either. Shyly, she approaches with a smile, hands tucked behind her back as she comes to greet the other girl. ]

Let's Talk About the Elephant-Sized Rabbit in the Room
[ Kairi wasn't asked to bring a gift, but she did. Because it's Nanako and Nanako deserves nice things and she was thoughtful enough to check in on Kairi when she was feeling down. So she brought something big enough for Nanako to hug the way she might have her long-lost older brother or any of the other people that she might miss as much as Kairi misses her goddess and boyfriend.

It's a giant plush bunny. Like, twice as big as Nanako. Its fur is white with pink accents. Feel free to notice Kairi just lugging a giant white bag with this thing wrapped inside and ribbons tying the top closed. It's pretty light so she's holding it up by herself pretty well, it's just awkwardly sized.

... Now where to put it. ]

Food & Fun

[ Catch Kairi hanging out on the blankets with her knees to one side, eagerly munching on snacks and pointing out all of the decorations. ]

I can't believe she made all of these by herself... I mean, I know she can, I've known her a long time, actually. It's just that she chose to do it all herself rather than ask for help.

[ She sighs fondly, while trying to make sure their hostess isn't around. ]

It's sweet. I just wish her brother was still here.

[ Eventually, she'll find Nanako herself and scoop her up from behind with a big hug. ]

Mmm! What a great friend you are to so many people, Nanako!

[ And she sets her back down quickly, so that they're facing each other. ]

Your new place is so different! How do you like it?

[ Nanako bursts into giggles when the other girl shows up to spin her around. She hugs her back with exuberance, a bright smile on her face. ]

You came! I'm glad! And it's big! I like it! Did you get to look around?

[Even if Kairi seems to be handling the thing just fine herself, Celty feels compelled to go over and offers a message on her phone for the reading.]

Do you need any help with that.

[She's not curious about what's in the bag at all, what are you talking about?]

Nanako-sama!

[Ken is a pretty excitable dog right now. He has two gods, and now the one has suddenly ended up living right next to the other, in what might be the most convenient arrangement ever. It means that checking in on Nanako, or even where he and Chikusa choose to sleep on any given night(if they ever feel uncomfortable in Hakkai's temple again, or they get mad at Hakkai for some reason), is as easy as going next door.

Besides, there's a party and endless free food. Barring some inappropriate activities with Chikusa, Ken can't think of any needs of his that aren't being met right now.

Ken bounds up to her, one hand full of meat skewers and still chewing what is probably more meat before swallowing and beaming at her.] You're right next door to Hakkai-sama now, byon!

[ When he bounds up to greet her, she throws her arms around his waist in an excited hug, tipping her head back to grin up at him. ]

I am! Now I can come visit all the time!

[ Nice place. Ren takes a look around and admittedly it's his first time around these parts. So, as soon as he finds Nanako he's going to try and poke her on the head. She's so small, he can't help it. ]

[ It's probably bad of him to say this out loud but he can Only think of food.]

[ She gasps when he pokes her head, mouth falling open in playful dismay. ]

[ But she can't hold that expression long, even in play, and dissolves into giggles a moment later. ]

I am! Hi! Are you?

[Chikusa has already ended up wandering around in Nanako's temple once, and that was before he even became her shinki, or stayed in her temple because him and Ken were upset at their room being invaded. So even before the invitations, or Ken's nose picking up food and familiar smells, well...]

[It had been kind of hard to miss the change in layout to right next door.]

[So, yeah, Chikusa is around. However, it's not only Chikusa here, or Ken, but a goat on a leash and at least three different talking cats either hanging on the goat or Chikusa's shoulder.]

[Anyone is free to come ask what the hell is with all these animals, but Chikusa is mostly searching out Nanako.]

[...Well, admittedly, Chikusa is mostly searching out the food, but also Nanako. It's up in the air if those two things happen at the same time. Regardless, he perks up when he sees her. This is saying something, considering Chikusa's usual demeanor.]

[At least he's learned to brace himself for hugs, which he has no doubt are coming.]

[ They are coming, in fact. Promptly, and with great enthusiasm. ]

[ Aaaaand he has a seven-year-old goddess launching herself at him to tackle him about the waist and grin up at him excitedly. ]

I'm here! We moved! Now I'm real close!

[Celty's been about at the party, but somehow it takes quite a while before she even catches a glimpse of Nanako. She supposes she shouldn't be surprised considering at how she's busy being host. So, in spite of a mounting feeling of self consciousness at being at such an energetic gathering in such a posh place, she does her best to mill around and be social, at least as much as she's able.

Mostly it involves friendly waves, but she still carries on with any conversations that start. She's just not that great at starting them herself.]
