[One of the first thing Lance does, after settling in at Minerva’s temple, is explore the place. He’s sure he’s allowed to - Hifumi won’t mind! And what’s a better way to learn the ropes than to be out there? He wanders through every district, often wearing the distinct armor he woke up with. Sure, he doesn’t know the significance of it, but...it might be a good idea to be protected?

(He has the assumption monsters are common. He might be disappointed, eventually.)

It comes in handy, though, when it comes to exploring the abandoned temples. He clambers up the ruins like a particularly spritely goat, and doesn’t seem to be bothered by all the vines and debris. In fact, if someone runs across him when he’s exploring an old, abandoned temple, they might even hear him laughing like a kid in a candy store.

Otherwise, he’ll just grin and wink at anyone he passes by. Maybe he’ll even throw in a finger gun, if you’re lucky.]

[Guess who’s in Die Jagd? It’s this guy, and he doesn’t look anywhere near impressed with the surroundings.]

That’s definitely fake. You see this, right? [He says to you, fellow patron.] That looks so cheap - there’s no way that’s real!

My temple--Serapis temple--is in the western district. You can't exactly miss it. It looks like a large, white castle ship.

[ROLLS EYES.]

[He blinks.]

Castle...ship? We talking space ship or water ship?

[ Don't be rude!!! ]

Alright. But don't be upset when I tell you I told you so. [ But he's teasing!! ] Space ship.

I won't be, because you're never gonna say it. [Hmph!] Does it actually fly?

We'll see about that.

[ He chuckles. ]

It can't, no. Not here. The ship it's modeled after can, though.

Yeah, we will.

[He's stubborn enough to want to win.]

So...You remember your life before all this, right? [A beat.] Have you been to space?

[galrarm]

Yeah. I spent a pretty long time up there, actually.

[thegoofball]

You did?! [He lights up - space is amazing! There's so much up there, and he's immediately excited to have met someone who's been.] What was it like?

[galrarm]

Amazing.

[ Which is definitely true. He's never gotten tired of being up there. ]

But at the same time, it's dangerous. There are a lot of threats up there. Still... I wouldn't have traded it for anything.

[thegoofball]

[Lance's face softens, and he wants to ask more questions. He knows he shouldn't, but...]

Do you miss it?

[galrarm]

[ Ah... ]

Sometimes I do. After spending years up there, I think anyone would.

But I'm content here. So it works out.

[This is one of those conversations that will be hilarious in retrospect.

Or, you know, completely soul crushing.]

Content's boring though. What about action? Adventure? All of that?

[ It's fine!! Shiro's fine. It's cool. ]

Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of that here, too. Those ayakashi don't go anywhere unless we step in.

[ He thinks for a moment. ]

This... might be an odd request from someone you've just met, but if you ever want to take on a prayer with me, I'd be glad to join you.

[Uh huh. Sure.]

Yeah, but it's not the same as being home, is it?

[Home seems...so important to him. He guess this place is as much a home as anything's been, but...]

Going on a prayer, huh? I think I could handle one with you.

[galrarm]

[ He makes a soft sound of contemplation. ]

No, I don't think it ever will be. But I've learned that for me, home is wherever the people I care most about are. That's just me, though. I know it's not the same for others.

[ He hasn't forgotten how homesick Lance had been. He wonders if, deep down, unconsciously, Lance has that same pull. And... if he remembers, Shiro hopes he can be there for him. ]

I'll keep that in mind. [ And then, with a slight grin, ] Shiro and Lance, the unstoppable prayer team.

[thegoofball]

[That's an incredibly sappy answer. But, from the short time Lance has known him, it's exactly the kind of answer he would've been expecting.

He just seems the type.]

I guess that's not so bad, though.

[But a part of him still feels unsatisfied.

And then he pauses.]

I thought you said your name was Serapis?

[galrarm]

[ Shiro raises his eyebrows. Feigning ignorance, what a dope. ]

My god name. You never specified which name you wanted.

[Yells internally!!]

Why would I want your god name? You're not my god!

[Yet UHUHUHUHUHU.]

[ Y E T ]

Okay, okay. Fair enough. I hope you won't hold it against me.

You will never regain the trust you've lost.

[But he's joking. Mostly joking.]

You say that now. I'll just have to work extra hard to earn it back.

[ He chuckles, and man. This almost feels normal. ]

I don't doubt it. Maybe showing you all my cats is a good start.
