Who: Romeo, Elfnein and literally everyone in the heavens. Even if you weren't personally invited every invite came with a +ALL YOUR FRIENDS and there's also a sign. Strangers are just friends these two haven't met yet.

Arrival

You might have received an invitation, or perhaps you are just passing Gegute’s library but there is an brightly painted sign outside.

Lots of tasty food!

The doors of the temple are open and once you arrive in the lobby there are more bright arrows pointing the way into the library. If you are still stuck mister Goat is at the help desk, he’ll direct any one who needs it!

Activities

The layout of the library hasn’t really changed at all, except a few tables being moved to accommodate activities and all the comfy reading cushions have been brought to a central location. All the shelves are decorated with colourful paper chains and streamers.

Romeo had really enjoyed Yuna’s birthday party with the activities to do so he had copied the idea for Elfnein’s book party! On one table there is material for making bookmarks. You might want to recut the card strips, they are a little wonky. There is ribbon and glitter and colouring pens and glue.

On another there is a cardboard box puppet theatre, painted in a riot of colours with colourful strips of material as curtains. There is some felt and other material, as well as scissors, glue and wool to make puppets with. A sign reads in childish Hirigana. Show your best book!

Food

The invitations had promised lots of tasty food and there sure was a lot! A whole table filled with tasty treats, Romeo had been very very busy! There was a whole tray of chopped fruit, another of vegetables like carrots and cucumber.

There was bread and cheese and two bowls of pasta with different sauces. Another bowl of noddles with meat and vegetables. There was a huge bowl of rice too with a tray of grilled fish and a bowl of broccoli and asparagus.

An entire part of the table was taken up by apples and things with apples in them, apple turnovers and even an attempt at an apple pie, it was a bit smushed but probably tasted fine.

There was a tray of very misshapen cookies with messy icing and another of even messier cupcakes with far too much buttercream. There were also churos and a chocolate Gateaux, these seemed to have been bought rather than made, Romeo hadn’t even known where to start it making them!

There was an attempt at making books and other shapes out of rice and vegetables packed in the two bento boxes Ebisu’s temple had given him for Christmas, but they were a bit crumbly, misshapen or just plain strange. In the centre of Romeo’s bento attempts was his magical bento box, every time it was opened there were different fancy bento creations, if the children’s attempts left a lot to be desired.

"Just so long as it's not me." Her own ears twitch with that sentiment, though she was smiling.

Romeo laughs at that, "You're not from a story book, miss Nia!" So of course he wasn't dressed up like her. They did maybe look a bit like her ears though, he looked up at her ears. He had never thought about why Nia's ears were different before. But they did look a little like the ones he had made for his Gon costume!

"So what's so great about this fox guy?" She's not sure she really wanted to hear the answer, but it wasn't her party. Let's let the kids have some fun.

"Well he is a bad fox at first because he steals things and then because he stole some fish Hyoju's mum died and that was really really bad. But then he learns how bad he was and he works really hard to make up for it and do good things for Hyoju without Hyoju never ever knowing it was him!"

It was a very sad book but Romeo had liked reading it anyways, even if he thought he preferred stories with happy endings.

Nia frowned slightly, folding her arms. "That's a pretty heavy story. Here I was guessing you'd like something with a heroic knight or the like..."

"I like those kind of stories too! But I started reading this one and at first I didn't like it because Gon was sort of bad and the book was really sad but then he learned from his mistakes and he tried really hard."

It was a bit tricky, but so were lots of things! He's had to ask lots of big questions these last few weeks and this book was like one of those questions, it wasn't easy with a happily ever after.

"I like books with knights in too though! What's your best book, miss Nia!"

"I'm not much of a reader, honestly," she said, looking away with a determined frown. "Don't know why that is, of course, no idea what I did while I was alive..."

"But you can be a reader now, even if you weren't before!" Romeo grinned at her, "I couldn't read very well at all when I first came here but I practised lots and lots and now I can read lots of words! So I can read even big books now!"

"Kind of helps when your goddess has a library for a temple." And you really wanted to help and impress her, or at least that's the impression Nia had of Romeo.

"Yes I am really lucky because there's more books then I could ever read even in forever here!"

And he had Elfnein, who helped him a lot. He always knew he could ask her if he got stuck with a book!

"Have you eaten some food yet?"

"I just got here, so no. Where's the food?"

That definitely had her interest!

"Over here!" He leads the way, "There's lots and lots!" There really was, an entire table full of so much food! A whole corner of apples, goofy attempts at bento and highly decorated cupcakes.

"You can have as much food as you want!"

"Wow, you guys really went all out." For kids, anyway. They still sure deserved some credit. "Nice job! Did you have some help or was this all you two?"

"We did it all ourselves! It was a lot of work!" They hadn't really slept. But it was worth it, in order to be able to see all their friends smile!

"Oh except that cake and those churros, we bought those and that cake," He pointed to a fancy fruit cake, "Was brought by miss Ginia!"

"Oh yeah, I remember those from the amusement park!" The churros definitely got her attention as she headed for them.

"That's where I had them too! They were my first food and they are so yummy!" He bounced over with her, happy to see her excited about the food.

"I should've guessed." Where ELSE would someone run into these sorts of foods on a normal basis? "You guys go down to the Near Shore to eat at all?"

[myblueskies]

"Not really. Only when there are festivals and we go there at training time!"

Mostly they ate at the temple, especially since Romeo had worked so hard on learning how to cook tasty food!

"You're missing out on some good stuff. I'll have to take you two out sometime, teach you a couple things."

[myblueskies]

"That would be nice of you miss Nia! I'm sure Elfnein will like that a lot too!"

New places and new food all sounded very fun and tasty indeed!

"Yeah, I can take you to seventeen different places that serve meat buns." Her smile flickered a bit, but it remained sincere. She was determined to hold onto good memories.

"Seventeen?" That was a lot of meat buns! It sounded very exciting!

"That will be a lot of food! Elfnein might explode!"

He and Nia wouldn't. Shinki could eat and eat and eat and never be full.

"Not all at once, you loon!" Nia batted at one of his fake ears with a hand.

"Oh!" He winced as her hand came up but then laughed as his fake ear was batted. "That might be better, if we just eat one at a time!"

"Yeah, just a little bit. For Elfnein's sake, since we shinki don't seem to ever be satisfied." Not that Nia really wanted to test just how much she could eat at one go.
