[Roxas needed to get out of his temple and fast. Being cooped up in there trying to figure out a way for Raichi to get in and Sora visiting has left him with the feeling of cabin fever. His first target of course will be a book store. There's plenty to read up on, plus he wanted to expand his ever growing manga collection. This one is already putting the one back in Koriko to shame.
His next stop would be any place where there's animals, such as a pet store or possibly a dog park. Roxas wants a pet that isn't a deer, what he thinks might be a bear somewhere in the woods, or an assortment of game birds. Having those as sacred animals was rough on the nerves. A dog might be nicer as a companion.
Roxas, before heading to a spot he really wants to check out, will wind up in a park. It's nice and comfortable there, and being pretty unnoticed by people makes it much easier to doze off in the grass. He's still awake enough to notice people nearby... but maybe not someone who walks quietly.]
[April 15th, Sunset, Prompt for Dataroxas]
[There was a lot of things to mull over. So Roxas found the highest place in town and just sits on the roof to enjoy the setting sun. He was always drawn to high places. Part of him wonders if Axel and Sora were, too, or that guy. That guy who he disliked immensely from the moment they met. Thinking about that guy was ruining the moment, so Roxas shoves him as far out of his mind as possible so he can enjoy ice cream in peace. He's rather lost in his happier memories from back in Twilight Town.]
Maybe I should bring Axel up here sometime...
[April 15th into April 16th, Evening to Morning, Artemis' Temple, Open]
[Since his discussion about gods and their family times, Roxas has wondered how he could reach out to the other Greek pantheon gods. He isn't actually all that sure about who was who past Aphrodite and Hermes. At the moment it just didn't jive with him to ask about it on the BBS again. Hermes would let him know if more were found. Right?
He's mostly wandering on the edge of his temple grounds to check on the statues during the night. When that's done, Roxas sits by the walkway to his temple watching everything else go by. Seems this little god can't sleep tonight.]
[April 16th, Daytime, Prompt for Axel]
[It was time to see where his best-friend-yet-not works! Roxas had suggested an ice cream stand to the red head. Was it take seriously? He's determined to find out. It's not hard to find Axel with that red hair and those green eyes. Walking right up to him, Roxas puts his hands on his hips, looking up at his friend.]
Found you!
[April 16th, Evening, Open]
[The Near Shore was really fascinating at night! It was like a different population of people were out and about. Roxas was so used to seeing spirits, ghosts, and monsters instead of humans, so he's utterly fascinated by all of the humans. This kid can be easily spotted just watching people walk around, listening to their conversations, and just... rather enjoying this activity. He might need a less weird suggestion for entertainment.]

[Maybe it's a little weird, but as long as Axel refuses to admit that it's like it's normal, right? Right.
That's definitely how this works.]
Anyway, isn't that kind of an easy question? I like you, you've got a shinki who's gonna get you killed if you take him into a fight, so if you want to name me, I'm up for it.
no subject
He hesitates before nodding.]
So what do I do?
[Raichi had just been given the name he had from his previous god.]
no subject
Or just name me and call the name!
[Which is a little simpler than most of his gods have gone so far, but Axel can't see why it wouldn't work. He grins at Roxas.]
... Let me go clock out first, though. You know, just in case I turn into something big. Meet you outside?
no subject
Okay. I just gotta think of a name.
[Even if they'll see each other in a moment, Roxas still gives Axel a wave before heading out.
... he can't imagine what kind of big thing Axel would turn into. A lion, maybe?]
no subject
Whatever.
Shrugging, he lets himself out front and glances around for Roxas. The sun's sinking towards the horizon, but it's still late afternoon, not quite sunset.]
no subject
He turns around to see if Axel was outside yet and smiles.]
I'm over here!
no subject
[He stuffs his hands into the pockets of his hoodie -- it's not like it's actually cold, but there's a breeze coming up that's a little chillier as the day wends its way towards night, and Axel just really does not enjoy the cold. Give him a nice desert city to sprawl out on a rooftop in with street food, and he'll be fine.
(Where did that image come from? He has no idea, but the thought of a desert sun is still nice. Maybe he came from someplace like that.)]
So, thought of a name yet?
no subject
One of my friends in Koriko used this one once when talking about her bond with her friends. Though... [He looks at that kanji with a frown.] She never told me how to pronounce it. I'm not that good with kanji.
no subject
Hey, I think if you scroll down that site has pronunciations. See? Down there.
Uh --
[He squints. It's a small screen.]
"Han"? So it'd be Hanki.
no subject
Let's hope he's doing this right... Just to be a little more formal, he holds out his hand.]
... So... I name you Hanki!
no subject
As Axel takes his new form, the bond between them, too, takes shape, and the knowledge Axel's lost -- the image of his own death: fire, and the ebbing away of his last substance into nothingness as he lay on the not-quite-real ground of the corridor of darkness and opened one last portal.
Hey, Axel thinks, pleased. He's a Keyblade again. How about that!]
no subject
The Keyblade form throws him off for a moment till the images of the death hits Roxas. He closes his eyes, gripping the handle of the blade rather hard to steel himself. It was painful to watch. If there was more context to that death... yet it answered the one thing that's been eating at Roxas since seeing his best friend again. He's not the one who killed Axel.
Roxas wipes his eyes when he realizes he started crying, letting out a soft laugh. The relief he feels, the weight off of his shoulders... this was what he was hoping for. The question of how and why the death happened could be answered eventually. For now Roxas feels the happiest he has in a long while.]
Really? A Keyblade? Guess it suits you.
no subject
[Except there's one problem here, Axel realizes with an uncomfortable sinking sensation. Sure, the naming went okay, and he's Roxas's shinki now -- and, as a bonus, he's turned into something Roxas definitely knows how to use. But Roxas is crying.
Cautiously, he speaks again.]
Hey... you okay?
no subject
Roxas takes a deep breath after a few minutes, nodding. He can't help but laugh a little louder, his smile rather bright when he looks down at the blade in his hand. Oh if he could only tell you why he's so very happy.]
I'm fine. Really.
no subject
[That bright-eyed laugh settles Axel's worry like nothing else. Okay, so Roxas is fine. No worries there. He'd smile, but that takes a face, which he doesn't have right now, so instead, he settles comfortably into Roxas's grip and considers their surroundings.
Aw man, no ayakashi.]
You know? We should go see if we can find ourselves any ayakashi one of these days.
Practice fighting, that kind of thing.
no subject
[Debating that, Roxas nods. That sounds like it could be fun and nostalgic at the same time. Ayakashi aren't Heartless, but getting rid of dark beings was what he was there for.]
Yeah. Sure. Just gotta figure out when. You're a lot busier than me.
no subject
[It does sound kind of fun; he's had a chance to work with all his other gods so far, in combat or for less violent prayers. Roxas is the first one he's actually just offered the chance to name him, without an ayakashi right there trying to eat someone's face.
It's kind of nicer that way.]
no subject
[Yes, it's darker and possibly more dangerous, but for reasons he doesn't want to discuss, Roxas is up all night anyways. May as well work at that time. Darkness would be a better way to draw out more.]
There's gotta be people who want things done at night.
no subject
[Roxas isn't that old. Teenagers need extra sleep, right? Staying up all night screws up their schedule, or something like that.]
Bet you we can find plenty to do at night, though. Even if there's no prayers, I swear I see more ayakashi around then.
no subject
[You should be happy he's awake during the day, Axel. Roxas tends to be asleep this time of day.
Also, not your typical teen. What? Gonna make him have a set sleep schedule? Make sure he eats healthy? Roxas will be fine!]
Monsters are more active at night, so why not ayakashi?
no subject
[There's a feeling to the thought as though Axel would be shrugging if he had shoulders.
And hey, why not make sure he eats healthy and gets enough sleep? Somebody should, and Axel's got no problem with nagging.]
no subject
[It at least makes sense to Roxas.
He eats plenty healthy unlike Sora. This kid can cook, okay? But please nag him about sleeping.]
no subject
[Something like that, anyway. The time when weird and dangerous things roam free. It makes sense that's when the ayakashi would be out, too.]
no subject
I think so. There's not a lot of people out so it'd be safer for them, too.
no subject
[He pauses. There's something odd in Roxas's expression again, and while Axel may not be able to move as a Keyblade, he can sure still see.]
What'd I say?
