Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

[At some point during all of this, Jae-Ha has fallen unannounced from the sky and right beside Hazel to admire this predicament as well. Hmm. He taps his chin a few times.]

I can't come up with a single thing that would be a good idea, no. [He has plenty of bad ones, though.] Did you special order that?

[Must he land so abruptly!!!] You're gonna give a man a heart attack, fallin' in like that.

[But anyway, his wayward piano. It's a concern.]

I didn't ask for the great instrument at all, to tell ya the truth. Quite honestly, I'm perplexed.

[razzledazzles]

[It's too bad he can't call Kija and his big hand over here for Reasons. Or even Genos, the man who can lift five bears at once. Hmmm...]

It's a fine instrument, so you shouldn't turn it away! Think of all the great music. [Maybe he'll try his hand at a song, if they can get it inside.]

How about I stand on the piano and swing it, and you pull it in from right there? [He points out the exact spot where the piano is supposed to make it and fit through in this terrible idea.]

[He can't play piano?? So clearly Jae-Ha is this thing's only hope of actually being used.]

Meanin' no offense, but I won't let ya jump on my new piano. [This idea sucks.] Got any other brilliant ideas?

[razzledazzles]

Well, I could follow that rope up to a point, but even my jumping has limits.

[He can't see from here if that thing actually just vanishes, or is just so high up that it can't be seen, or if it's some illusion... Who knows. He pulls out a knife.]

Should I cut it down? If only you could catch it, that would be really impressive. You're not hiding any strength from me, are you?

[Jesus christ, put the knife away. Hazel actually laughs, like pulling out a knife and suggesting he get a piano dropped on his head is good humor and not weird as hell. But he reaches over to put a hand on Jae-Ha's wrist and gently push his knife hand down, anyway. Stop...]

No, nothin' like that. Let's get a closer look, shall we?

[Let's go STAND UNDER IT!!]

[Thanks, he thought it was funny too. He slides the knife back inside of his robe as he steps closer towards the piano. It's really no risk when he can get out of the way in time, so sure! Sounds like a fine idea.]

Will staring at it from closer help any more than staring at it from afar?

[churchbelle]

[Just be sure to grab Hazel so he doesn't die and come back as a sneaker or something. Time to stand under this piano and stare up at it, hmm, how to get it out of the goddamn sky??]

It's makin' me feel productive. [shh] For the life of me, I can't tell how the damn thing got up there.

[razzledazzles]

[He'll protect this southern belle, sure.]

Maybe that's how it's meant to be? "Modern art" and all that. [Ha ha.] Some items have spirits. I suppose your piano could also be possessed.

[Ah, swoons.]

Think I should try exorcisin' it? [He won't, it's too pretty, but.]

[razzledazzles]

Don't exorcise a perfectly good piano!

[He's not sure what that involves but it sounds harmful to the musicality of it, somehow.] There must be another way. It's your temple, isn't it? From what I can tell, temples are formed to their gods. There must be a reason your piano is hanging from a rope.

[Hazel looks away from the piano to the house itself. Well, it's not like he hasn't seen a house like that before, back home... Thank god it's not a literal church, honestly. He can follow that.

But a piano hanging from the sky?]

Ya think it's pointin' out my height? Otherwise, I haven't got a clue.

[razzledazzles]

At this point, anything would be better than the implications of standing beneath this floating piano. Are you sure this is a good idea?

[Like, again, he could save him— but don't make the piano fall just by tempting it like this.]

[churchbelle]

Ya got that jumpin' ya do, don't worry about it. [He waves off this concern, staring up at the piano once again. It's just... there...]

It'd be rather convenient if it would just move all on its own, don't ya think? Just slip right inside, quietly, without any fuss.

[He looks at Jae-Ha as he says this, complete with a sliding hand gesture to show what he wishes this piano would do, and when he looks up again it's gone. From the second floor of the house, there is a faint thud.

This is a matter of great concern.]

...Where the hell's my piano?

[razzledazzles]

Eh? It disappeared?

[Jae-Ha had slowly glanced to Hazel during that little conversation, glancing back to see... it missing. Jae-Ha is stunned for a good moment before he decides to jump— it's fine, he'll hang off the side of the house or something while he looks around like maybe it flew off—

Oh. There it is. Through the window.]

You don't have a second piano?

[churchbelle]

[Speaking of disappeared, there goes Jae-Ha. Hazel stares up at him, and before he acknowledges that-]

I'll make ya pay for it if ya rip my whole porch down.

[fatty fat leg]

What do ya mean, a second piano?

[razzledazzles]

...How heavy do you think I am?

[Don't be RUDE... Just because he's not 4 feet tall. Gosh. He points inside.]

The piano is right there! Take a look for yourself.

[churchbelle]

[he is taller than that excuse you]

The piano's— Are ya serious? Get off the edge, will ya- [This, as he is forced to walk into his own house to go up to the second floor, because parkouring into one's upstairs sitting room is kind of weird.

There's a goddamn piano here. Jae-Ha better be off that railing by the time he gets up here to stare at it.]

Well, I'll be damned.

[razzledazzles]

[What a naggy person. Jae-Ha finally hops off the house and touches back on the ground before he enters after him. He'll even use the stairs like a normal person before sliding over to the piano.]

This isn't a showing of strength at all, but it's just as impressive! Did you move it through will alone? Can you do it again?

[churchbelle]

[Aw, he used the door like a real boy, how nice of him. Hazel stares really intently at the piano, thinking about it moving, or something...??

It doesn't, but its little bench does. Like, popping out of existence and back into it right in front of them. What.]

That ain't right.

[razzledazzles]

Pfffft...

[Okay, that's significantly less impressive when he moves a bench like that. Jae-Ha can't hold back his laughter as he about doubles over...]

You can't control it at all! What a cruel gift! They're testing you!

[churchbelle]

[This leg weirdo is laughing at him... You're cute, Jae-Ha, but not that cute. Hazel turns his head to frown at him, then wonders—

And then Jae-Ha is sent abruptly across the room, just like the bench. But better. Hazel raises an eyebrow, very impressed with himself.]

Leavin' so soon?

[razzledazzles]

[—ah. His laughter is cut off at the strange sensation, and then he's startling back into place on the stairs. Alright, he gets it and all, but something about that is beyond uncomfortable.]

Very funny. [He's walking back up these stairs, pointedly checking out his own arms and body.] Be careful with that! If you had taken just part of me like that bench, what would have happened?

I'm gettin' some practice in! Didn't ya just say they're testin' me?

[Clearly it makes sense that he practice, so shush.]

Ya look fine from here.

I was thinking you would practice on something inanimate. I feel a bit violated after that...

[Gosh!! He says that pretty weirdly, but nevermind that, because he's back over at the piano to peer at it, testing a key or two.]
