Susano'o Trashes Heaven
Who: Sho Minamimoto vs. Everyone!
What: Susano'o decides to take on Heaven. Chaos results.
When: All day April 19
Where: All around the Heavens
Summary: In a bid to take over Heaven, Sho has unleashed an apocalyptic number of taboo ayakashi the biggest Heaven-wrecking godmode weapon this side of the Far Shore. It doesn't end well. Get ready for spring cleaning 2.0.
Warnings: Math, strong language, casual disembowelment and other violence, NPC death, potential for character death.
12:00:00 PM
Susano'o, Selfies, and the Subjugation of Heaven
As he'd revealed in his 3 AM BBS post, Sho has a variety of fascinating ayakashi that he wants to share with the world. By noon, several large heaps located in various parts of Heaven have caught on fire and there is a massive outpouring of taboo ayakashi.
Concentrated primarily near the Meeting Hall and Susano'o's junk heap of a temple, these ayakashi attack shinki and gods on sight. They're vicious, powerful, and the only way to defeat them is the power of teamwork.
At 2 PM, Joshua will be providing some helpful tips. Meanwhile, Sho will be teleport-spamming throughout Heaven. Feel free to text him, but he'll stop answering right around the time Bishamon and Hajime start to catch up to him. (Picowatt will be helping out from there on!)
Save Heaven 2K16? (Details here!)

Boss Fight: Seiten Taisei and the Neoclassical Drakes
It's the zero hour, exactly 43,200 seconds since he posted his warning to the BBS when Sho decides to change the game. Heaven has rallied against him, gods and shinki alike, and it's time to pull out the big guns.
In the air above the Meeting Hall, he unleashes thirteen Neoclassical Drakes before releasing Seiten Taisei.
And, suddenly, it's entrails everywhere.
??:??:??
Post-Battle Spring Cleaning
Well, the day is saved, but there's a metric ton left to do. The mass slaughter left a bit of a bloody mess, and Susano'o has shrines on the Near Shore covered in graffiti that can turn any stray ayakashi into the taboo sort. Weird and corrupt magics all over the place, some of which are on fire. His junkyard temple is burning merrily, and there are still some stray taboo ayakashi to put down.
Anyone ready for Spring Cleaning 2.0? Grab a mop.

He's not sure why, but that thought is soothing somehow, like the cleansing of an old wound. He won't think too deeply about it, but there it is.
Introspection has no place in battle anyway, it gets in the way. As the Drake lowers its head, Souji certainly doesn't question his instinctive response.]
The head. It's doing something. Keep our of range. [Just in time too, as there's a red glow building around its maw.]

Every sharp movement as Sanae ducks and bobs and weaves around the drake has him tossed around in her pocket like a salad, stumbling and jostled around in the darkness. He's been pocketed before but a stifling pressure has been growing with every long second that ticks by that he's stuck as a mobile phone. It presses down on him from all sides, non-existent muscles and limbs scrunched up into a tight space, nerves knotted up because he has hands, where are they and why can't he be out there fighting alongside her instead of hiding in her pocket like a coward. He can't even see what's going on, can't even watch her back and warn her of any attacks.
An item doesn't need air to breath, but he's suffocating with worry anyway.
He can't tell what's worse: the tightness in his chest winding up from anxiety over Sanae's safety or the actual cramped space he's being rattled in. It's hard to reel back these thoughts and feelings of uselessness and inadequacy. It's hard to remember that he is helping her, because without him she wouldn't be able to kill the beasts anyway. Why did the fates have to stick him in this wretched hand-sized device!?
He had suspected that having a household appliance form would prove to be difficult when the time comes for her to make a stand against the ayakashi. When they had set out at the first new of trouble in the Heavens, he'd told herself to be prepared. What he hadn't expected though was that the first ayakashi they'd be called to take on was some monstrous dragon creature. What he hadn't expected was that the one who needed to be prepared wasn't his god, who was proving her mettle and might on the battlefield.
The one who needed to be prepared for the long, anxious wait, was him.
It's easy to stew in self-pity and worry. He wishes he could have more confidence in his god. But where he is now he can't even see how she's doing. This battle is both a battle against a drake, and a battle against those damning thoughts of his. He's got a grip on his emotions so far and Sanae continues to receive the calm, and with it also the focus, needed to take on such a vicious enemy. But it's hard to focus on the battle and distract him from all those thoughts when he can't even see the battle in the first place.]

As for her own shinki, part of the problem is that she isn't quite sure how to use a mobile phone in battle. And as peppy and ditzy as she is, she isn't one to forgo a few seconds of fighting to take a selfie with an enemy. The other issue is that she's simply unused to fighting with others. Being ready for a coordinated attack with the samurai is enough for her to keep a track of.
She raises her gohei. ] ...--Ready?
[ They have to coordinate their attacks. They can do this. ] I'll release the barrier on three, and then we can attack! [ The Drake will be free to more for that split second, yes, but then again.... perhaps with this sort of team, a split second is all they need to decimate their opponent. She hopes. ] One, two, three---!
Sorry for the slow tag, was traveling and then jet lagged!
[Just as he's about to move back, though, Sanae calls out her plan, and for a moment, his eyes go wide. The monster's preparing to strike, and she's planning to release the barrier now?]
Not yet!
[In spite of his sudden concern for her safety, his voice comes out the way it always has in battle -- confident, strong, and authoritative, with the clear tone of an order.]
Keep holding it if you can, and stay clear of the head!
[Abandoning his original plan of retreating out of range, he instead runs towards Sanae, ready to try and shove her out of the way of the Drake's threatened attack if she doesn't react quick enough on her own.]

The Drake opens its mouth, and Souji calls out.]
Now!
[And then the Drake twists it's neck as much as it can within its confinement and let's go of the first volley of bright red bolts. And behind their cracklings energy, the red glow still persists.]
More coming.

But the barrier holds, and she adjusts it so that it becomes stronger where the drake is now firing at. That, of course, makes it weaker in other parts of the barrier, but it helps that the dragon-ayakashi is currently only focuses on Sanae at the moment.
She hovers a few meters back just in case, of course. She doesn't know what else is up this dragon's sleeve. ]
Oh gosh I'm sorry I should've tracked this thread OTL
At the very least it does sound like the others know what they're doing though. He'll have to thank them in person later, for taking care of her when he could not.]

[For now, though, he's got to pay attention to that warning from Souji. Some of those bolts that made it through on the first volley were too close for comfort, and it still seems to have more where that came from. The ayakashi doesn't look like it's getting discouraged in the slightest.]
[Hijikata doesn't hesitate, even while he's constantly thinking over his options. He starts to move as if to circle around behind it to the right, hoping it will follow him with its head -- only to pass behind a tree, and in that moment, teleport himself over to its opposite side. It might be a new ability, but Hijikata's always believed in using every tool that's damned well available to you in a fight.]
[Hopefully with the element of surprise on his side, he grasps his sword firmly in both hands and dashes in to try and get a good slash in at the dragon's side.]
no subject
But all he has to do now is to focus all his energy on cutting, on tearing into the ayakashi as much as he can, keeping his edge as sharp as he possibly can. No holding back, because surely the target is to cause as much destruction as possible?]
